Check out the news on any given day and you'll see evidence of all the ways we "other" people, shame them, alienate them, and cause harm to them - passively and actively. In this conversation, Vanessa Faloye and I dig deep in to the things that separate us and cause us to lose touch with our humanity. We explore what it even means to be in touch with it, and why it's so easy sometimes to "other" people. We also talk about the important practice of continually bringing ourselves back to a place of reverence and care for each other and ourselves. You won't want to miss this one!

She invites listeners to think about how to identify solid ground when everything feels scary and tenuous. Join Kari and Jason Sole to talk about what it means to be in community with each other in ways that heal and repair rifts, and why abolition is a key part of this. Jason's experiences as a Black man in the United States, holding healing circles, and his lived experience with violence and incarceration give him a strong perspective on what it means to find "justice," and where we can't find it. This timely conversation can help us frame the police response to student encampments at colleges and universities all over the US and the world right now.

As someone who has always loved food and being in a human body, the last few years have been a practice of reinventing these connections.
