Every single week, Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestant Stephanie Mitchell joins the Jack Vita Show to recap the week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island! This week, Stephanie and Jack break down the eighth episode of Deal or No Deal Island, S2 E8, "Safety in Numbers".This week's episode saw La Shell Wooten's game come to an end. La Shell and Dickson were forced into the bottom, with David and Parvati once again earning safety. Parvati gained safety for the eighth straight week. She has yet to be eligible for elimination. Parvati was forced to choose between two of her alliance members, when it came to selecting an opponent for the banker. After mulling her options, Parvati called La Shell's name at temple.La Shell was offered $1.558 million, in a deal that gave her a one in three shot at safety. La Shell accepted the deal, and moments later, discovered that her case held $1.75 million. Unfortunately for the North Carolina native, her time on the Banker's Island came to an end.Stephanie and Jack unpack this week's episode, discuss La Shell's decision to take the deal, and ask the question, "Why did everybody in the excursion allow David and Parvati to run through them to the end?" Will this be an omen for how the endgame will play out on DONDI S2? They also discuss Dickson's attempt to play the middle between two alliances. Will he make a big move next week? All this and much more, on this week's recap!
Each week on the Jack Vita Show, Jack sits down for an exit interview with the most recent eliminated contestant from NBC's Deal or No Deal Island. This week, he speaks with the eighth contestant eliminated, 55 year-old social worker La Shell Wooten.La Shell was selected to play the banker this week by four-time Survivor contestant Parvati Shallow. With three cases remaining in her game of Deal or No Deal, La Shell accepted a deal for $1.558 million, which gave her a one in three shot at securing a good deal. Unfortunately for the North Carolina resident, her case held $1.75 million, ensuring that she made a bad deal, making her the eighth contestant eliminated from the Banker's Island.La Shell visits the Jack Vita Show and provides some clarity on several matters from Deal or No Deal Island. La Shell did not receive a great deal of screentime, so this interview provides a nice look at her gameplay, her strategy, and her thought process throughout her time on the show. La Shell ways in on the Parvati-Phillip conflict from the past week, providing a fair, objective view from the lens of a social worker. She details why she doesn't think Parvati's claims of "emotional manipulation" are true, and also explains why she didn't trust Parvati at all. La Shell reveals who she would have sent home had she defeated the banker, and shares why she sent home Sydnee Peck earlier in the season, in her first time playing the banker. Plus: why did she accept the deal when she only had a one in three chance of surviving? All this, and much more, only on the Jack Vita Show!
Every single week,Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestant Stephanie Mitchell joins theJack Vita Show to recap the week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island! This week, Stephanie and Jack welcome Season 2 competitors, Phillip Solomon and Seychelle Cordero to the show, as they break down the sixth episode of Deal or No Deal Island, S2 E6, "Power Grab".With this week's episode ending on a cliffhanger, there will be no exit interviews conducted this week. Instead, we have Phillip and Seychelle joining the Jack Vita Show for a full 40 minutes! Phillip and Seychelle provide an inside look at the episode, sharing insights that cannot be found anywhere else! Phillip and Seychelle answer questions about the episode and give us a peak behind the curtain. One revelation from this interview is that per Phillip, Tuesday's episode wasn't the first time CK had cheated in an excursion.CK got caught cheating red-handed, and offered to play the banker, in an attempt to pay for her sins. Lete placed first in the excursion for the second-straight week, and agreed to have CK go up for elimination. Lete expected CK to target Dickson, but CK threw a wrench in her plans. Minutes before Temple, CK approaches Parvati, David and Dickson and lets them know that the other side of the island has been targeting them. She also informs them of the plan that was concocted one week earlier, in which Maria-Grace Cook was eliminated by Dr. Will Kirby. At Temple, CK blows the lid off the entire operation, ratting out Lete, Phillip, Seychelle and Dr. Will. Phillip and Seychelle share their thoughts. Were they surprised? Seychelle also discusses her decision not to jump off the platform at the excursion one last time. Does she have any regrets?Phillip and Seychelle share some behind-the-scenes information that wasn't shown on TV. Later, Jack and Steph share their thoughts on the episode and break down all of this week's gameplay and strategy.
Every single week, Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestant Stephanie Mitchell joins the Jack Vita Show to recap the week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island! This week, Stephanie and Jack break down the fourth episode of Deal or No Deal Island, S2 E5, "Trust Fall". Lete placed first in the excursion, giving her the power to select which contestant to play the banker at Temple. Dr. Will, Maria-Grace, C.K., Phillip and La Shell were all in the bottom. Lete selected Will, instructing him to target MG. With Dickson, Parvati and David all safe, Lete and Seychelle believe it was imperative to target the one member of "The Family", who was not. Lete and Seychelle formed a new coalition, with Phillip, Will and CK. Will and CK agreed to work together for this round, but CK couldn't trust Will, based off their recent history. Will plays a highly entertaining game of Deal or No Deal, which includes him faking out the group and pretending to take a deal, only to find a loophole. Will declines the deal, but later secures a good deal, reserving his place in the Final 9. Will stuns "The Family" by sending MG home. Steph and Jack are here to break it all down! What are their thoughts on the fallout from Dickson's big move last week? How did Dickson's decision to take out Storm hold up this week? What did Steph and Jack think of Will and CK burying the hatchet and working together this week? Which players stood out this week for their gameplay? All this and so much more!
Each week on the Jack Vita Show, Jack sits down for an exit interview with the most recent eliminated contestant from NBC's Deal or No Deal Island. This week, he speaks with the fifth contestant eliminated, 22 year-old firefighter "MG", Maria-Grace Cook. MG was eliminated Tuesday night, after Big Brother 2 winner Dr. Will Kirby defeated the banker and in a shocking turn of events, selected to send the Greer, South Carolina native packing. This elimination came just one week after MG's love interest, Storm Wilson, was eliminated from contention at the hands of Dickson. Earlier in Tuesday's episode, MG chose to fall on the sword for Australian Survivor winner David Genat, allowing him to secure the high-value case and safety from elimination. As a member of "The Family" alliance with Parvati, David and Dickson, MG was the only alliance member up for elimination, making her the target of a growing coalition, consisting of Seychelle, Lete, Phillip and Dr. Will. MG chronicles what led to her demise on DONDI. Did she sign her death sentence when she entered a showmance with fellow contestant Storm Wilson? Why did Dickson target Storm last week, and what was the fallout from his blindside? Was Dickson jealous of Storm? How much reality television had MG watched before competing on reality television? How did she know who Parvati was, and why did she decide to work with her? MG also shares how Dr. Will got her a job in Los Angeles after the show finished filming. All this, and more, in a very fun exit interview!
Each week on the Jack Vita Show, Jack sits down for an exit interview with the most recent eliminated contestant from NBC's Deal or No Deal Island. This week, he speaks with the fourth contestant eliminated, 25 year-old Austin native Storm Wilson. Storm was eliminated Tuesday night, when Dickson Wong defeated the banker and banked the highest total in Deal or No Deal history. While he had promised Dr. Will that he would send C.K. home, Dickson went rogue and threw a curveball that the entire cast could not see coming. In a shocking turn of events, Storm was sent packing, ending his time on the Banker's Island. Storm visits the Jack Vita Show to discuss his time on the island and attempt to explain what exactly happened in Tuesday night's episode. Why was Storm targeted? Did his elimination have any correlation to his showmance with Maria-Grace Cook? Why did Storm think a showmance wouldn't paint a target on his back? Who was Storm working with, and who would he have targeted had Dr. Will selected him to play the banker instead of Dickson? What were some things that weren't shown on television, that Storm was surprised to see didn't make the air? Was Storm surprised that he didn't get more screentime? What was Storm's strategy? Did he and Phillip bond over being fellow Austin natives? All this, and more, in a very telling exit interview!
Every single week, Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestant Stephanie Mitchell joins the Jack Vita Show to recap the week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island! This week, Stephanie and Jack break down the fourth episode of Deal or No Deal Island, S2 E4, "Throw and Tell". The intensity continues to ratchet up, as this week saw the season's first blindside. Dr. Will finished first in the excursion, giving him the power to decide which player will face the banker at the temple. Will made a deal with CK at the excursion, promising not to select her to face the banker. CK had been very vocal about the fact that she was targeting Will, so while Will had made a promise to keep CK out of elimination, he still wanted her eliminated from the game. Meanwhile, Dickson wants to play the banker, and makes his pitch to Dr. Will for why he should. He tells Dr. Will that he will knock CK out if he were to win. Dickson secures the highest case total in the history of Deal or No Deal Island, adding $5 million to the prize pot. In doing so, he defeats the banker and lives to see another day. In a shocking turn of events, Dickson sends Storm home, putting the end to a short-lived showmance. Earlier in the episode, Storm coupled up with Maria Grace. Stephanie and Jack debate whether Dickson made the right call, or if he showed his cards too early. Did Dickson raise his threat level? All this, and much more, on the Jack Vita Show!
Every single week, Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestant Stephanie Mitchell joins the Jack Vita Show to recap the week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island! This week, Stephanie and Jack are joined by Season 1 contestant, Kim Mattina! Kim made her presence known through her four episodes of DONDI S1. She was labeled "the biggest threat in the game" by Boston Rob Mariano. The threat she posed to the Survivor winner eventually spelled an end to her time on the Banker's Island, but Kim is a longtime viewer of reality television and is one of the most knowledgeable contestants across all reality competition shows. Kim is here to break down the latest episode of DONDI S2! This week on Deal or No Deal Island, 65 year-old Rock Carlson was eliminated, after he was selected to play the banker by Parvati Shallow. Parvati and Phillip once again placed first in the excursion, giving them the power. Phillip allowed Parvati to take the lead, and Parvati chose Rock, but not without putting on a display of emotions that she was brokenhearted over the decision, something that Phillip seemed to find alarming. With a handful of contestants up for elimination, including Australian Survivor winner David Genat and Big Brother winner Dr. Will Kirby, Rock did not reveal who his target would have been, had he defeated the banker. Rock accepted a deal from the banker with a 75% chance of survival, but unfortunately for him, his case held the high value of $1.34 million, and he was promptly eliminated. Earlier in the episode, Dr. Will reveals to the entire cast that Parvati was previously on Survivor. This revelation looks like it has stirred the pot and will be a source of conflict and drama moving forward! Kim, Steph and Jack walk you through the entire episode and discuss it all on the Jack Vita Show!
Every single week, Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestant Stephanie Mitchell joins the Jack Vita Show to recap the week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island! This week, Stephanie and Jack are joined by Season 1 runner-up Amy McCoy! Hot off of Jack's sit-down interview with recently eliminated Syndee Peck, Amy, Steph and Jack have a LOT of thoughts on the treatment Sydnee has received from fans, cast members and editing. Amy weighs in after experiencing a great deal of social media hate from fans last season. On this week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island, Phillip and Parvati opened up a door that released Big Brother legend Dr. Will Kirby into the game. Steph, Amy and Jack share their thoughts on Dr. Will's rockstar entrance and discuss how they think he will fare in the game. They compare it to Boston Rob's appearance on The Traitors this past week. Parvati and Phillip placed first in the excursion, granting them the power to select between two teams to play the banker in a game of Deal or No Deal. Parvati and Phillip opted to let C.K. and La Shell play, but Parvati wanted C.K. to target Rock instead of Sydnee. Parvati had the idea that keeping Sydnee around could take the heat off of her and David, and buy her some more time on the Banker's Island. C.K. defied Parvati's wishes, breaking a deal she made with Sydnee, and sending the 27 year-old redhead packing. Steph, Amy and Jack share their thoughts on this week's episode and gameplay, while telling stories for S1! Join us for a very lively conversation!
Each week on the Jack Vita Show, Jack sits down for an exit interview with the most recent eliminated contestant from NBC's Deal or No Deal Island. This week, he speaks with the second contestant eliminated, 27 year-old Sydnee Peck. Sydnee received the short end of the stick Tuesday night, when a tandem of C.K. and La Shell defeated the banker and selected her to be the next player to leave the Banker's Island. Courtney and her partner Rock, along with C.K and La Shell placed in the bottom of this week's excursion. Parvati and Phillip placed first, giving them the power to choose which team to have play the banker. Parvati and Phillip selected C.K. and La Shell, however, Parvati wanted Rock to be the target, not Sydnee. Despite a valiant attempt to save Sydnee, Parvati was unsuccessful, as C.K. broke a promise she made to Sydnee to keep her safe. Sydnee visits the Jack Vita Show to discuss her time on DONDI, and tell her side of the story. Sydnee explains how David began flirting with her, and once she found out he was married, she backed off. She thought they had become good friends and confided in him, but was rather surprised to hear some of the comments David made in confessionals, as she watched the show over the past two weeks. Sydnee also explains how she has an autoimmune disease, Lupus, which greatly complicated her time on the Banker's Island. Sydnee shares who she would have targeted had she had the power this week, and who her closest friend on the Island was. She tells a little bit of her backstory and shares about her life before entering the world of reality television.
Each week on the Jack Vita Show, Jack sits down for an exit interview with the most recent eliminated contestant from NBC's Deal or No Deal Island. This week, he speaks with the first contestant eliminated, personal chef and Eagle River native, Luke Olejniczak. Luke opted to go for a red case in the first excursion, hoping that he would secure immunity. He received the "swap" case, and took a $450K briefcase, instead of the highest-value case. His team finished in the bottom at the excursion, assuring that one of he, David Genat and Seychelle Cordero would be eliminated. Luke volunteered to face the banker, and rode with his briefcase to the very end. His case contained just $1, and he became the first contestant eliminated. Along the way, he was offered a deal that provided a 66.67% chance of safety, which he declined. Luke joins Jack to discuss his time on DONDI, why refused to take a deal from the banker, who he would have eliminated had he survived, why he chose to go for a red case in the excursion, why he took the $450K case, who his closest ally was on the banker's island, how he expects his Green Bay Packers to fare this weekend in the NFL Playoffs, and much more! It's an exit interview that you won't want to miss!
Every single week, Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestant Stephanie Mitchell joins the Jack Vita Show to recap the week's episode of Deal or No Deal Island, Season 2! This week, Steph and Jack break down the Season 2 premiere! Jack and Steph share their first impressions of this season's cast, which features three reality television veterans: Big Brother 2 winner Dr. Will Kirby, Survivor: Micronesia winner Parvati Shallow and Australian Survivor: All-Stars winner David Genat. After going for the "steal" option in the excursion, David found himself in the bottom, along with Seychelle and Luke. Sydnee held the high case, and selected Luke to face the banker. Luke came up short in his attempt to defeat the banker, with his briefcase only containing $1. Just like that, the Eagle River, Wisconsin native was the first contestant eliminated. Which contestants stood out to Stephanie and Jack? Who were some early standouts, and who do they expect to make a deep run? What did they think of Parvati and David's gameplay? All this, and so much more, here on the Jack Vita Show!
Deal or No Deal Island Season 1 contestants Kim Mattina and Jamil Sipes visit the Jack Vita Show, to reflect on the show's first season, in advance of Season 2's premiere later this week! Back in May 2024, Jamil visited the show for the very first time. When Jamil was eliminated in the second episode, Jack had not yet begun doing exit interviews with the exiled cast members. Jamil joins Jack for a special, hour-long conversation, featuring Kim, in his first appearance on the Jack Vita Show. Kim and Jamil have a very fun conversation with Jack about their time on the Banker's Island, as well as the time they spent together in the loser's lodge, after each of them were sent packing. Where do contestants go, and how do they spend their time, once they've been eliminated? Kim and Jamil also provide commentary on the first season. What did they think of Boston Rob's gameplay, and the gameplay of the other members that reached the final four? Jamil was the show's second contestant eliminated. Kim was picked to face the banker. Upon defeating the banker, Kim selected Jamil for elimination. Kim explains in this podcast episode why she targeted Jamil. Kim was eliminated two episodes later by Boston Rob Mariano. This conversation was taped the week before the DONDI S1 finale. It got lost in the shuffle with all of the finale content we released at the time. With Deal or No Deal Island Season 2 premiering later this week, we felt that this was the right time to release this conversation, which we've had in the can for nearly eight months! Subscribe to the Jack Vita Show on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and wherever podcasts are found, and join us each week for exit interviews with the eliminated cast members and recaps with S1 third-place finisher Stephanie Mitchell! DONDI S2 recaps drop every Wednesday. Exit interviews, every Thursday!

From May 28, 2024 — In our final exit interview for Deal or No Deal Island Season 1, DONDI winner Jordan Fowler visits the Jack Vita Show for the first time! Jordan played a masterful, under-the-radar game that had her reach the Final Four without ever having to face the banker, with her name hardly ever coming up by her competitors as a potential target. While two clear factions formed (the "Rob Mob" and the "Night Owls"), Jordan played the middle, maintaining strong relationships with both parties and never finding herself in the crosshairs of either group. Jordan explains how she looked to Survivor great and The Traitors winner Cirie Fields for inspiration. Jordan completed the Final Four excursion first, securing her spot in the Final Two. Jordan defeated Amy McCoy in the final excursion, making her the first winner in the history of Deal or No Deal Island. Jordan became the banker's final opponent, allowing her to play the banker at the final temple. Jordan accepted a deal for $1.23 million, a cash prize that will certainly change her life. Jordan and her husband had struggled to conceive and start their family. Through IVF treatment, Jordan is now pregnant, excited to start the next chapter of her life as a mother. Jordan takes us through her time on Deal or No Deal Island. Despite being the show's winner, she received very little screentime, particularly in the first half of the season. Jordan explains what she was doing and saying in the early days of DONDI, providing a detailed look to what did not make the air. Was Jordan surprised at how the show kept her win hidden for as long as it did? How did Jordan feel about playing against Survivor legend Boston Rob Mariano? Who would Jordan have taken out, had she played and beaten the banker early in the season? How much reality competition television had Jordan watched before appearing on DONDI? And who from the cast did Jordan enter the show having mutual friends with? All this, and so much more, in an exciting episode with the first ever winner of Deal or No Deal Island! You can follow Jordan on Twitter (@itsmejofo) and Instagram (@itsmejofo).
From May 21, 2024 — As part of our Deal or No Deal Island coverage, each member of the Final Four is visiting the Jack Vita Show for their exit interview! Today, Jack is joined by runner-up Amy McCoy! Amy took a commanding lead in the Final Four excursion, becoming the first contestant to complete the puzzle. Amy got a head start in the maze, which prompted Boston Rob Mariano to sneak a peak at her puzzle, resulting in a time penalty for the Survivor icon. Amy relives the moment that paused the game. How long was the stoppage, and did it disadvantage her as she was already in the maze? Amy shares her thoughts on Rob's time penalty. Despite getting lost in the maze, Amy was able to emerge from the maze before Rob, putting an end to Rob's time on the Banker's Island. Stephanie's case contained the lowest amount, placing her in third, advancing Amy and Jordan to the final two. Jordan bested Amy in a final excursion that last just a few minutes, eliminating Amy from contention. Amy shares her thoughts on the final excursion. Was she expecting something a bit more epic, that may have tested other skills? Amy reflects on the season. She discusses her edit, the Night Owls alliance, why she picked Rob to face the banker earlier in the season, how the game would have played out differently had Rob lost, and so much more! This week, the legend himself, Boston Rob Mariano visits the show to discuss his time on DONDI! This conversation is twice as long as a regular exit interview. Unlike other exit interviews, and Jack is joined by seven other reporters as Rob faces the press, fielding questions from the media in a rare press conference. Along the way, Rob discusses his time on DONDI, why he decided to accept the invitation to compete on the show's first season, how it compared to Survivor, whether or not he would compete on Peacock's The Traitors in the near future, and much more! Rob also discusses a creative idea he had to help himself after receiving a time penalty for looking at Amy's answer. Rob wanted to shout the answer to Stephanie and Jordan as they were attempting to solve the puzzle, allowing them to move forward, and lessen the penalty time he would receive. He asked production if he was allowed to do it, and was told no. He wishes that he hadn't asked and just done it. Rob shares how large of a gap there was between him and Amy. Was he really that close to passing her in the maze? And did his case have a total high enough to keep him in the game, had he not emerged from the maze last? From May 8, 2024 — Survivor great Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick returns to the Jack Vita Show, this time, to talk Deal or No Deal Island! Stephenie joins her former Survivor: Guatemala tribemate Brooke Struck and Jack for a fun conversation about Deal or No Deal Island's penultimate episode, E11 "Are You Tenacious?". With only one week remaining, Stephenie previews what looks to be an epic finale! Episode 11 ended on a dramatic cliffhanger. The four remaining competitors were tasked with a challenge that required them to complete a puzzle and run through a maze and collect a briefcase. The last contestant out of the maze would be immediately eliminated and the contestant holding the lowest-total briefcase among the the three remaining competitors would also be eliminated. Boston Rob Mariano got caught cheating off of Amy McCoy's puzzle. As a result, he was assessed a three-minute time penalty. He had to wait until the other three contestants had all completed their puzzle, and then he had to wait three extra minutes, before he could take off for his case. Jordan Fowler and Stephanie Mitchell are shown exiting the maze and locking in their case totals. It appears that Rob is closing the gap on Amy, but the episode concludes. We ask the question, "What happens next? Will Boston Rob live to see another day, or is his goose cooked?". Stephenie is one of the biggest fan favorites in the history of Survivor. After debuting on Survivor: Palau, she placed second on Survivor: Guatemala and appeared on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. She recently came out of retirement, competing on USA's Snake in the Grass and season 1 of NBC's hit show The Traitors. Stephenie was a huge fan of Rob before she ever appeared on Survivor, and his inspiration is one of the reasons she applied in the first place! She has known Rob for nearly 20 years, and has very much enjoyed watching him play on Deal or No Deal Island. Stephenie shares her thoughts on Rob's breach of the rules. Was it deliberate? Was the penalty fair? And will Rob survive to see another day? Brooke and Jack also weigh in, as the three of them share their thoughts on the episode as a whole. Brooke and Steph also share some memories from Survivor: Guatemala, including an unbelievable Jamie Newton story!
