FINALLY, a mix set for my darker, stranger, more refined listeners, MY people! I associate very closely with industrial culture and music, and I compose and produce industrial tracks myself. So it only seems fit and right that I create a mix set of some of my favorite industrial and dark electro songs that have influenced my own style the most over the past 11 years. I began listening to industrial music when I started high school, and ever since I heard that crazy machine sound, I was hooked, and I still am! I seek to revolutionize industrial music by my own right in my own tracks, as we all do in industrial culture, but these tracks, for me, really defined industrial as a genre and they were the turning points, milestones if you will, of industrial music, from the 80's up until more recent times. Be ready, be open to some strange, wild sounds, and BE... VERY... AFRAID! This truly is a one-of-a-kind mix set, and I'm sure you'll find something in it that you can appreciate, if not many things! This mix has been called "dance-worthy" by Alex Koenig aka Nmesh, and I hope to get more good comments about this mix set from all you great people! So show some love in a comment for this mix! Enjoy! And if you want to hear how these songs have influenced me by hearing my OWN industrial tracks, then check me out on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/jadeiusthevndead ... Enjoy it and have fun! This is an awesome MySpace buddy of mine, Alex Koenig aka Nmesh (pronounce it 'MESH' people!!). He does his own work and uploads some of it on MySpace, but he also does these really wicked, twisted, crazy mindfuck mixes. The one he has been so kind as to supply for your listening pleasure (thanks boy) was crafted especially for this podcast, in the name of artistic freedom and all that shit. WARNING: This is like nothing you have ever heard in your entire life. You've been warned. Now have a listen to this twisted fella's mix and GO SHOW HIM SOME LOVE ON MYSPACE! Click Here to Check out NMESH on MySpace http://www.myspace.com/nmesh OK now here's his bio to entertain your eyes whilst you listen: Alex Koenig (working under the alias "Nmesh", pronounced 'mesh') started drumming for the hardcore band "execrate" (now "7 Day Sun") from 1997-2000. Around 2000 began the experimentation with various audio programs. 4 Weezer songs were remixed into a complete acid trip. One of which, included an unrecognizable ambient version of "say it ain't so". 2001, marked the release of an 80-minute DJ set in the style of radio one's essential mixes. the mix was entitled "session one: peel blue equinox", and was a rollercoaster of upbeat techno into dark, brooding ambience. in the next couple of years, he recorded a large amount of music, heavily influenced by the likes of FSOL, Aphex Twin, etc, self-released on sonnja-barrum records. In 2002, Alex joined up with yet another metal band, "nemesis", to get back on the drums again. in less than a year, he left and continued to put all his effort into electronic music. in 2003, Alex and members of "ayin" and "mobile feast utopia" formed the short-lived group "tuscarora", which included Daisy of the popular band ''Foxy Shazam". Several more full-length records were put out. in 2005, he joined his fourth group, "captain midnight & the riders of tomorrow", with Alex Darnell (formerly "controller") and Matt Murphree (aka "two-headed giant" & "fin randers"). "midnight" was mostly noise-based experimental music, and their methods were very unconventional-- for instance, Alex might play the dust-buster and 3 alarm clock radios, and darnell might play a circuit-bent furby toy. though the live shows were a bit disorganized but loads of fun, and it was nice to see something different live. In November 2007, Nmesh was featured on the program "Beneath The Beat: Electronica", a podcast based out of New York City. The song "Hot Garbage" was also played in the background of a Tailgaters Sports Bar commercial, and one for Wicks Pizza in the Highlands. There are around 20 albums/e.p.s released to date, and close to 550 songs in the library. Nmesh has collaborated with many artists and vocalists, and produces and works out of his bedroom studio in Louisville, KY, making music mostly in the electronic genre, spanning many different styles-- idm, house, experimental, glitch, mash-up, ambient, drum 'n bass, chill-out, dancehall, hip-hop and even some 8-bit video game music. One day, that bluegrass song might surface.
Here's one from another good MySpace buddy of mine from Germany, ELECTRIC-SHIMANA aka Sören. Sören cooks up his own psychedelic soundscapes, uploading them for all the little boys and girls to hear on MySpace, and he also is a DJ, spinning the wildest psychedelic tracks on the planet. Get ready folks-- get ready for beautiful, calm, relaxing vibes mixed with get-up-and-move, twisted-mindfuck jams. This mix set, courtesy of Electric-Shimana himself, will take you on a journey. ENJOY THE "FOOL"!!! Now here's his bio for ya's: Sören is a 22-year-old Psytrance Artist/DJ. He prefers to spin fast and melodic tracks, Full-On, or fine Darkpsy. Essentially, his sound tends to be sweeping and "colored". With the help of his Israeli artist-friends from "Iliuchina" and "Hashashins," Sören has established the Netlabel PNF-Records (Psychonature Family). With this label, Sören and his colleagues will give nameless artists a chance to release their tracks via their V.A. Sampler Promos. In Sören's own words: "We look into a future with brilliant sound, great events and many lucky stomping people!!!" Check out ELECTRIC-SHIMANA and show him some love at his MySpace page! http://www.myspace.com/electricshimanasound Also, you can check out his Net-label, PNF RECORDS: http://www.myspace.com/pnfrecords
This is a gift from a very good friend of mine, DJ Stitch, from Albuquerque, NM. He was effin cool enough to send me a mix that was previously unreleased, that is, UNTIL NOW BETCHES!! (Yes DJ Stitch says "betches" suck it.) You are gonna LOVE Mr. DJ's super-pro spinnin' style, he keeps it moving peopleZ!!!!! Hope you enjoy. Here's this crazy betch's bio to entertain you whilst you listen: Stitch has been a DJ since 1990 in Albuquerque, NM. He started at the legendary AMC nightclub and was resident DJ there until 1994. In 1994 he started his residency at a little known or remembered club called COC, it was the first club in ALB to use CD mixing and sound. He took a break from DJ'ing to go to school for electonics in 1997, but by 2000 he decided the music was in his heart and he couldn't refuse the urge to DJ again. He made his triumphant return to the DJ scene where he started, AMC. He returned as DJ Stitch (picked for him by his mother!) and did his residency there until they closed in 2006. A new scene began to happen in downtown ALB as a new club called District hired DJ Stitch on for the now legendary Friday night "Camp!" party. It was a fun year and 1/2 but unfortunately the club suffered an early demise. Right now Stitch is spinning at 109 4th Street on Thursdays and Albuquerque Social Club on Fridays. He has worked with many of the industry's best along the way doing backup DJ'ing for Cazwell, Pepper Mashay, KLF and others. He is also featured daily on Muzophile radio www.muzophile.com and every Tuesday and Sunday on Dance Mix America @ www.dancemixamerica.com - You can listen to all of DJ Stitch's mixsets on my myspace @ www.myspace.com/djstitchalbnm - He spins mainsteam club mixes along with gay dance hits and crazy electro beats, go check out his mixsets!!
