After being drafted to the Toronto Blue Jays, Deron Pointer decided to forego baseball, and enroll in Washington State University. This decision was based on the advice from his father, former MLB player Aaron Pointer. Although this decision came with moments of doubt, it proved to be a great choice given Deron’s time playing football at WSU and the NFL.
Roxy Brown grew up in Cajun Country which gave her her a special foundation that helped her navigate through cooperate America as an African-American woman. Because some people didn’t know she was African-American at times, she had to deal with racism from a very unique vantage point.
