well, this game was unexpected. This description is going to be short because dictation and my throat. That is why Morgan handled most of the speaking work today. She kindly offered because my allergies are turning my throat into a sandpaper bin.on Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
this game looked like a theoretical lock, but as I said in the episode, on a scale from common household lock to fort Knox, this was a lock on someone's diary. Strategy. Could have made all the difference in this game. It literally could have come down to the wire. Did that happen? Guess you'll have to hit play and find out. I don't put spoilers in my episode descriptions. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
this is a double episode, half because my phone battery ran out and half because I fell asleep waiting for it to get charged. In the first game, we saw it come right down to the wire, and we saw the risks of unwise wagering. Strong theoretical lock. Was that lock in fact theoretical, or did it hold? That's for me to know and you not to find out unless you watch the episode or listen to this podcast or bothre Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
and we wrap up the week with one of the most intense games I have seen all season. It literally came down to a correct answer and a wager. Also, the Bob rules are in effect for the first time this season. For those who don't remember because we've been absent so long, the Bob rules happen when I cannot pronounce a contestant's name because I cannot get a three-way consensus between Johnny, Ken, and at least one of my screen readers. It will be better explained in the episode itself, so I will not write the full explanation here.er Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
first of all guys, forgive us for any errors. We're exhausted. second of all, this game took a U-turn. It looked like it was going to be insanely close, and then it was decidedly just not. All three of our players played really really well today, and I do believe they all had fun. Once again, Morgan utterly obliterated me in the score department. ed Hosted on Acast. you guys want to talk about down to the wire, that's this episode in a sentence. Very narrow lead , and we're talking very narrow. Clues could have tied it up, or at least come close. Arthur's sister is capable of sarcasm. She cracked me up and I almost dropped things. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
You have a play button. Click it. so this game is important. If this game goes well. For one particular contestant, we could see our first tournament of champions qualifier of the season. What happens? Well that's for me to know and you to find out by listening to this episode.on Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
today's game is a prime example of how an entire game can flip on one clue. That is exactly what we saw to determine the outcome. I also had to yell at someone over daily double wagering because you do not wager everything you have on the last daily devil of the game. How many more times must I say this. That is dangerous. I don't care if your name is James holzhauer. You just don't do it. Also, a fun personal story from my childhood that was tied to one of today's categories. Yes, I used to be afraid of a letter of the alphabet. Deal with it.me Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
this game was one of those I'm going to go into theoretical lock early type of games. Also excuse the tangents. There was a demon Slayer question on Jeopardy. That's a big deal. Also, I want to thank you guys for not being hard on Morgan. At least if you are, you're doing it inside your head and not contacting me and yelling at her. She's having fun with this, and I'm having fun having her here.ts Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
another extremely awesome game today. This one looked like it might be close, but then double Jeopardy happened. It decidedly wasn't close. I also feel bad for one of our contestants who had a really rough time out of today's board. That was not kind. We do not like it when the board does that. Hosted on Acast. now this, you guys, was a competitive game. Everybody had the lead at some point. They may not have kept it for long, but everyone got to taste the joy of having the lead in a Jeopardy match. This game was right down to the wire too, and one of our players had a category that played straight into his hands. We like those. Also, I forgot to mention it while recording, but happy 41st birthday to the current version of Jeopardy.nt Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
this game was epic. You guys. I'm not even kidding. It looked at one point like it might end up in theoretical lock but then it most decidedly did not. Also, I am acquainted with one of the contestants today thanks to Mastodon, which is highly awesome! Now I'm going to tell you who wins. That's what playing the episode is for.ng Hosted on Acast. hello Jeopardy fans around the universe! We are back! I've missed you guys. Most of this episode is what you might call, catch-up, material and some important announcements I need to make. That's why it is unusually long for a reaction episode. You'll get the information on why I've been away so long and about the new member of our team. Go easy on her, that's all I ask. Don't be an a******. She won't tolerate it, and neither will I. We had an interesting game today though, that's for sure. It was one of those u-turn games. It looks like it's going to go in One direction and then it very decisively goes in the other one. Also, we start the season off with me yelling at someone for a daily double wager, which really shouldn't surprise you guys by now. I'm always yelling at people over daily double wagers.s. this episode is not game coverage, spotlight, or anything like that. This is a special announcement concerning my time away, the reasons for it, and when I hope to return. I do apologize for the extended absence. It was most certainly not in my plans. Sadly, life doesn't always seem to care what I want. We'll be back soon though, hopefully by next week at the latest.s. once again, another round of ketchup. Sorry that this has happened again. . We did, however, have two pretty awesome games. One of them stayed close and one of them might have stayed close, but something happened that threw the game wide open.. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
disclaimer We are playing catch up, so the data card had to be referenced heavily I can remember the capital of all 50 states, all of the Canadian provinces, and how silly putty was invented, but I cannot keep up with six contestants, six daily devils, two scorecards, etc. Basically if it involves numbers, I'm screwed .Second disclaimerThe Bob rule is in effect for the second portion of this episode . This episode .We're playing catch up today. Yesterday's game and today's game because unless you totally ignore your podcast feed most days, you probably noticed there wasn't one from this one yesterday. It's a long story that I won't get into here, but I'm catching up now. We had two really close games, and two excellent contenders for best Jeopardy story ever. Two groups of amazing contestants rounded out this whole thing. They worked their rears off. Whether the boards were kind to them or not, they did not get discouraged. I love that. Hosted on Acast. this game right here was a lot kinder than some we've seen previously. While others were just straight at brutal, this one mostly allowed the contestants to be their awesome selves. There were a couple of major ouch moments, but the game itself was not a vindictive little brat like some of the other ones we've seen recently. Also, you'll get my thoughts on the whole learned League thing after my first match. Spoiler alert, I won. I know, shocker. Surprise me when I saw it in the email this morning. Hosted on Acast. I feel sorry for every single contestant on that stage today. That board was pure evil. I don't mean it was just a little bit unkind. I mean it was actively sabotaging them. They were doing their best and those ridiculously difficult tournament of champions level questions kept coming up round after round after round. Not, nice, at, all. Due to that, this is one of the lowest scoring games I've seen in a while, possibly ever. As I've said, many many times, don't blame the contestants. We're all human. We all have weak points. It's not their fault if all of theirs happen to show up on two separate boards. They're doing their best, and we have to understand that.nd Hosted on Acast. and The knockout round comes to a close with today's game. We've seen 81 teams in this knockout round. 27 remain. When we get back to this next week, the really tough competition starts. On the topic of today's game. Though, we had some amazingly awesome teams. They were so much fun to watch, both from a gameplay department and the personality department.s. Hosted on Acast. today's board started out being kind to everyone, but then decidedly wasn't starting in double Jeopardy. One player got the worst of it, which totally sucks. Also pay attention close to the end of the podcast for what getting on Jeopardy actually looks like and why it's not nice to make snide remarks about contestants when they're struggling. That is important and I cannot say it enough. Sadly, I'm probably going to have to repeat that a bazillion more times because people just don't get its. Hosted on Acast.
