In the age of streaming, The Jerks discuss the changes happening in the world of TV media and movies and how we consume them. They also ask the question of; what is currently considered mainstream media?
Back from the summer off, The Jerks check in with each other and ask, "What are you watching right now?.... and how?" In a time where our viewing habits, as a society, are changing, we try to identify some emerging trends and explore where we find ourselves amongst them.
Phil and Tim discuss movies depicting mankind's struggle to weather harrowing situations provided by the natural world (outside human influence). The Jerks also touch on some personal experiences they, themselves, have had in the wilderness and the different obstacles they have faced when traversing the wild. For all you mega fans, there's some bonus content after the exit music!
Does it throw you off when a story's core character is re-casted with a different actor for the sequel? Us too! The Jerks explore their feelings around the re-casting of 'sequel substitutes' and replacements. Some replacements completely remove us from the experience, some are acknowledged and explained in the story (which we like) and others we've come to accept as a part of franchised film culture.

In this episode The Jerks play "Over/Under", a game where Phil gives Tim a number (higher or lower than the actual) referring to a Hollywood stat and Tim has to make an informed decision to answer Over or Under the number Phil's provided! In this episode, The Jerks compare heavily stacked movie casts and "weigh" the celebrity pull from each group to determine which cast collectively has more pull in Hollywood. We use a 5 to 9 structure, with the first round of the game comparing movies with 5 major actors, the next round, movies with 6 major actors, 7 actors, 8, 9... you get the idea! From there the boys discuss over-stacked casts and whether stacking a cast is solely a sell out move.
As brothers, The Jerks have special insight into the depictions of brotherhoods on screen! The Daley boys talk their favorite on-screen brothers and give awards to the funniest, shittiest, most relatable, toughest, and best/worst casted brothers!
