The good news for New Jersey is that the transmission rate is still relatively low. However, in one demographic group, 19-24 year olds, transmission rate is 3x as high, suggesting that going back to school is leading to spikes in Covid-19 cases across the Garden State. Some great news for the Garden State as we shift well into Stage 3 of Coronavirus Reopening. That means indoor dining, gyms opening up, and even the chance to return to the movies. Of course, there are still a lot of questions about schools across the state and concerns on how these changes will impact, especially with the holiday weekend. And it seems the transmission rate is ticking up a bit, so we'll see how long these last. But there's some more hope as researchers in Tennessee crunch Covid data through the world's second fastest supercomputer and find some pretty compelling results. Restaurants continue to plan for a return to indoor dining, but as of this recording, it is still a “planning” exercise. Some have been able to take advantage of outdoor space to set up tables and service, but others are still relying solely on take-out and delivery.
