Description
Jivamukti Yoga classes live from the mother ship in New York City's Union Square. Jessica teaches musically infused and philosophically amused classes that aim to inspire, uplift, incite, and ignite! Jivamukti classes combine physical technique with music, spiritual scripture, non-violence, and meditation.

The theme of the class, as always, is based on the Focus of the Month - which can be read in full here: https://jivamuktiyoga.com/fotm/world-of-images/
The physical practice is a mix of some hip and core work with one handstand excersize at the wall. Those of you at home can take this as an opportunity to practice any handstand thing you're working on, or something else! Its only a small moment in the class, so stay with it!

The physical sequence is a pretty evenly rounded out Jivamukti practice, balanced between all of the movement groups. No particular props instructed in this class, but feel free to utilize what you need.

Using physical movement to explore the often-overlooked "blind spots" in the body and mind. With an emphasis on increasing conscious awareness, the class begins with a traditional chant and transitions into mindful movement aimed at awakening the mid-back and deepening inner perception with a long-ish meditation at the end of class.

This practice involves some wall work at a certain point. You can absolutely practice the whole thing without working at a wall, I always encourage you all to do as much or as little of the practice as feels right for you!

The asana portion of the class involves side bending leading towards compass pose and vishvamitrasana, most people would benefit from a block and belt for this practice.
As always practice within your range and always get clearance from your trusted medical professionals before practicing.

Class has a bit of an emphasis on twisting, it helps to have a belt near the end of class for stretching

The main focus of the practice is twisting, we contemplate working with difficult people and misunderstandings -- trying to take people in bigger contexts.
