El siervo escogido del Señor (0:15) "He aquí mi siervo, a quien sostendré; (1:50) mi escogido en quien se complace mi alma. Sobre él he puesto mi Espíritu, y él traerá justicia a las naciones. No gritará ni alzará su voz, ni la hará oír en la calle. No quebrará la caña cascada, ni apagará la mecha que se está extinguiendo; (0:40) según la verdad traerá justicia. No se desalentará ni desfallecerá hasta que haya establecido la justicia en la tierra. Y las costas esperarán su ley." (2:15) Así dice Dios Jehovah, el que crea los cielos y el que los despliega; el que extiende la tierra y sus productos, (1:01) y el que da respiración al pueblo que está en ella y aliento a los que andan por ella: "Yo, Jehovah, te he llamado en justicia, y te asiré de la mano. (2:43) Te guardaré y te pondré como pacto para el pueblo, y como luz para las naciones, a fin de que abras los ojos que están ciegos y saques de la cárcel a los presos, y de la prisión a los que moran en las tinieblas. (3:05) Yo, Jehovah; éste es mi nombre. No daré mi gloria a otros, ni mi alabanza a los ídolos. He aquí, ya sucedieron las cosas primeras; ahora os anuncio las cosas nuevas. Antes que salgan a luz, yo os las anuncio." Cantad al SEÑOR un nuevo cántico (3:25) Cantad a Jehovah un cántico nuevo, su alabanza desde el extremo de la tierra, los que navegáis en el mar y su plenitud; las costas y sus habitantes. Alcen la voz el desierto y sus ciudades, las aldeas donde habita Quedar. Canten de júbilo los habitantes de Sela, y griten desde la cumbre de los montes. Den gloria a Jehovah; proclamen en las costas su alabanza. (4:21) Jehovah saldrá como valiente, y como hombre de guerra despertará su celo. Gritará, ciertamente lanzará el grito; sobre sus enemigos prevalecerá. "Por mucho tiempo he callado; he guardado silencio y me he contenido. Pero ahora gemiré como la que está de parto, jadeando y resoplando a la vez. (4:46) Devastaré montes y colinas, y haré secar toda su hierba. Los ríos convertiré en islotes, y haré secar las lagunas. (5:33) Conduciré a los ciegos por un camino que no han conocido, y por sendas que no han conocido les guiaré. Delante de ellos transformaré las tinieblas en luz, y los lugares escabrosos en llanuras. Estas cosas haré por ellos y no los desampararé. (6:08) Serán vueltos atrás y en extremo avergonzados los que confían en ídolos y dicen a las imágenes de fundición: 'Vosotros sois nuestros dioses.' Israel ni oye, ni ve (6:29) "¡Sordos, oíd; y ciegos, mirad para ver! ¿Quién es ciego, sino mi siervo? ¿Quién es sordo, sino mi mensajero que he enviado? ¿Quién es ciego como el emisario, y ciego como el siervo de Jehovah? Tú ves muchas cosas, pero no las guardas. Los oídos están abiertos, pero nadie escucha. (6:52) Sin embargo, Jehovah se ha complacido en hacer grande y gloriosa la ley, a causa de su justicia.'" Pero éste es un pueblo despojado y saqueado. Todos ellos han sido atrapados en hoyos y están escondidos en cárceles. Han sido objeto de despojo sin que haya quien los libre. Han sido objeto de saqueo sin que haya quien diga: "¡Restituidles!" (8:14) ¿Quién de entre vosotros oirá esto? ¿Quién atenderá y escuchará con respecto al porvenir? ¿Quién entregó a Jacob al saqueador, y a Israel a los despojadores? ¿Acaso no fue Jehovah, contra quien hemos pecado? Ellos no quisieron andar en sus caminos, ni obedecieron su ley. Por tanto, Dios derramó sobre él el furor de su ira y la violencia de la guerra. Le prendió fuego en derredor; sin embargo, no entendió. Lo incendió, pero él no lo tuvo en cuenta.

THE LORD'S CHOSEN SERVANT (0:20) (2:25) "This is my servant; I strengthen him, this is my chosen one; (0:32) I delight in him. I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring justice to the nations. (0:56) He will not cry out or shout or make his voice heard in the streets. He will not break a bruised reed, and he will not put out a smoldering wick; (1:23) he will faithfully bring justice. He will not grow weak or be discouraged until he has established justice on earth. The coasts and islands will wait for his instruction." (1:45) This is what God, the LORD says, He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk on it: (1:59) "I am the LORD. (2:38) I have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will hold you by your hand. I will watch over you, and I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations, in order to open blind eyes, (2:51) to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those sitting in darkness from the prison house. (2:16) I am the LORD. That is my name, and I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols. (3:03) The past events have indeed happened. Now I declare new events; I announce them to you before they occur." SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG 🎶 (3:24) Sing a new song to the LORD; sing his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea with all that fills it, you coasts and islands with your inhabitants. Let the desert and its cities shout, the settlements where Kedar dwells cry aloud. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing for joy; let them cry out from the mountaintops. (3:55) Let them give glory to the LORD and declare his praise in the coasts and islands. (4:19) The LORD advances like a warrior; he stirs up his zeal like a soldier. (4:40) He shouts, he roars aloud, he prevails over his enemies: “I have kept silent from ages past; (4:58) I have been quiet and restrained myself. But now, I will groan like a woman in labor, gasping breathlessly. (5:17) I will lay waste mountains and hills and dry up all their vegetation. I will turn rivers into islands and dry up marshes. I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on paths they have not known. I will turn darkness to light in front of them and rough places into level ground. (5:52) This is what I will do for them, and I will not abandon them. They will be turned back and utterly ashamed; those who trust in an idol and say to a cast image, 'You are our gods!’ ISRAEL'S FAILURE TO HEAR AND SEE (6:24) "Listen, you deaf! Look, you blind, so that you may see. Who is blind but my servant, or deaf like my messenger I am sending? (6:50) Who is blind like my dedicated one, or blind like the servant of the LORD? Though seeing many things, you pay no attention. Though his ears are open, he does not listen." (7:13) Because of his righteousness, the LORD was pleased to magnify his instruction and make it glorious. But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in holes or imprisoned in dungeons. They have become plunder with no one to rescue them and loot, with no one saying, “Give it back!” (7:49) Who among you will hear this? Let him listen and obey in the future. (7:58) Who gave Jacob to the robber, and Israel to the plunderers? (8:16) Was it not the LORD? Have we not sinned against him? They were not willing to walk in his ways, and they would not listen to his instruction. So he poured out his furious anger and the power of war on Jacob. It surrounded him with fire, but he did not know it; it burned him, but he didn't take it to heart.

(3:02) No temas, porque yo estoy contigo (0:53) (0:18) "¡Guardad silencio ante mí, oh costas; y renueven fuerzas las naciones Acérquense y entonces hablen. Acerquémonos juntos para juicio. (1:09) ¿Quién despertó del oriente al que para justicia convocó ante sus pies? Entregará delante de él las naciones, de modo que tenga dominio sobre los reyes. Los convertirá en polvo con su espada; y con su arco, en paja arrebatada. Los perseguirá y pasará en paz por una senda donde sus pies nunca habían caminado. (1:29) ¿Quién ha hecho y realizado esto, llamando a las generaciones desde el principio? Yo Jehovah soy el primero, y yo mismo estoy con los últimos." (1:51) Las costas han visto y temen. Los confines de la tierra tiemblan; se congregan y acuden. Cada cual ayuda a su compañero y dice a su hermano: "¡Esfuérzate!" El escultor anima al platero, y el que alisa con martillo dice al que golpea en el yunque, con respecto a la soldadura: "¡Está bien!" Luego lo afirma con clavos para que no se tambalee. (2:37) "Pero tú, oh Israel, eres mi siervo; (10:11) tú, oh Jacob, a quien escogí, descendencia de Abraham mi amigo. Yo te tomé de los extremos de la tierra, y de sus regiones más remotas te llamé diciéndote: 'Tú eres mi siervo; yo te he escogido y no te he desechado. (3:16) No temas, porque yo estoy contigo. No tengas miedo, porque yo soy tu Dios. Te fortaleceré, y también te ayudaré. También te sustentaré con la diestra de mi justicia.' (3:42) He aquí que todos los que se enardecen contra ti serán avergonzados y afrentados; los que contienden contigo perecerán. Buscarás a los que contienden contigo, pero no los hallarás más. (4:36) Porque yo, Jehovah, soy tu Dios que te toma fuertemente de tu mano derecha y te dice: 'No temas; yo te ayudo.' (4:19) No temas, gusanito de Jacob; vosotros, los poquitos de Israel. Yo soy tu socorro, dice Jehovah, tu Redentor, el Santo de Israel. (4:57) He aquí que yo te he puesto como trillo, como rastrillo nuevo lleno de dientes. (5:37) Pero tú te regocijarás en Jehovah; te gloriarás en el Santo de Israel. (6:07) "Los pobres y los necesitados buscan agua, y no la hay; su lengua se reseca de sed. (5:54) Pero yo, Jehovah, les responderé; yo, el Dios de Israel, no los abandonaré. Sobre las cumbres áridas abriré ríos, y manantiales en medio de los valles. Convertiré el desierto en lagunas, y la tierra reseca en fuentes de agua. (6:25) Haré crecer en el desierto cedros, acacias, mirtos y olivos. Pondré en la región árida cipreses, olmos y abetos, para que vean y conozcan; para que juntos reflexionen y entiendan que la mano de Jehovah ha hecho esto, y que el Santo de Israel lo ha creado. Los ídolos son inútiles (7:10) "Presentad vuestra causa, dice Jehovah; exponed vuestros argumentos, dice el Rey de Jacob. Que se acerquen y nos anuncien lo que ha de suceder. Declárennos las cosas que han sucedido desde el principio, y prestaremos atención. (7:48) O hacednos oír de las cosas por venir, y sabremos su final. "Decidnos lo que ha de venir después, para que sepamos que vosotros sois dioses. (8:09) Por lo menos, haced el bien o el mal, para que nosotros tengamos miedo y también temamos. He aquí que vosotros nada sois, y vuestras obras no existen; el que os escoja es una abominación. (8:30) "Del norte desperté a uno, y vendrá; desde el lugar donde nace el sol, él invocará mi nombre. Y pisoteará a gobernantes como a lodo, como el alfarero pisa el barro. (8:51) ¿Quién lo anunció desde el principio, para que lo supiéramos? ¿Quién lo dijo de antemano, para que dijéramos: 'Él tenía razón'? Ciertamente no hay quien lo diga, ni quien lo anuncie. Tampoco hay quien oiga vuestras palabras. (9:18) He aquí que yo fui el primero que declaré estas cosas a Sion, y a Jerusalén le daré un portador de buenas nuevas." Miré, y no había ninguno. Entre ellos no había consejeros a quienes les preguntara para que me dieran respuesta. He aquí que todos son iniquidad, y la obra de ellos nada es. Viento y vanidad son sus imágenes de fundición.

FEAR NOT, FOR I AM WITH YOU (0:18) "Be silent before me, coasts and islands! (0:38) And let peoples renew their strength. Let them approach; let them testify; let's come together for the trial. (0:53) Who has stirred up someone from the east? In righteousness he calls him to serve. The LORD hands nations over to him, and he subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, like wind-driven stubble with his bow. He pursues them, going on safely, hardly touching the path with his feet. (1:36) Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I am the LORD, the first and with the last. I am he." (1:53) (2:05) The coasts and islands see and are afraid, the whole earth trembles. (2:27) They approach and arrive, helping each other. The craftsman encourages the metalworker; the one who flattens with the hammer encourages the one who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, "It is good." He fastens it with nails so that it will not fall over. (3:00) But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, my friend. I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said to you: You are my servant; I have chosen you; (3:40) I haven't rejected you. (3:22) Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. (3:57) I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand. Be sure that all who are enraged against you will be ashamed and disgraced. (4:13) You will look for those who contend with you, but you will not find them. Those who war against you will become absolutely nothing. (4:28) For I am the LORD your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you. (5:05) Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel. I will help you' (this is the LORD's declaration). Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. (5:33) See, I will make you into a sharp threshing board. You will thresh mountains and pulverize them and make hills into chaff. You will winnow them and a wind will carry them away, a whirlwind will scatter them. But you will rejoice in the LORD; you will boast in the Holy One of Israel. (6:20) The poor and the needy seek water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. I will answer them. I am the LORD, the God of Israel. I will not abandon them. I will open rivers on the barren heights, and springs in the middle of the plains. (7:02) I will turn the desert into a pool and dry land into springs. I will plant cedars, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees in the wilderness. I will put juniper trees, elms, and cypress trees together in the desert, so that all may see and know, consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it. THE FUTILITY OF IDOLS (7:50) "Submit your case," (8:15) says the LORD. "Present your arguments," says Jacob's King. "Let them come and tell us what will happen. Tell us the past events, so that we may reflect on them and know the outcome, or tell us the future. Tell us the coming events, then we will know that you are gods. Indeed, do something good or bad, then we will be in awe when we see it. (8:40) Look, you are nothing and your work is worthless. Anyone who chooses you is detestable. (9:12) "I have stirred up one from the north, and he has come, one from the east who invokes my name. He will march over rulers as if they were mud, like a potter who treads the clay. (9:34) Who told about this from the beginning, so that we might know, and from times past, so that we might say, 'He is right'? No one announced it, no one told it, no one heard your words. (10:20) I was the first to say to Zion, 'Look! Here they are! ' And I gave Jerusalem a herald with good news. When I look, there is no one; there is no counselor among them; when I ask them, they have nothing to say. Look, all of them are a delusion; their works are nonexistent; their images are wind and emptiness.

CONSUELO PARA EL PUEBLO DE DIOS (1:18) (0:50) "¡Consolad, consolad a mi pueblo!", dice vuestro Dios. "Hablad al corazón de Jerusalén y proclamadle que su condena ha terminado y su iniquidad ha sido perdonada, que de la mano de Jehovah ya ha recibido el doble por todos sus pecados." (1:35) Una voz proclama: "¡En el desierto preparad el camino de Jehovah; enderezad calzada en la soledad para nuestro Dios! ¡Todo valle será rellenado, y todo monte y colina rebajados! ¡Lo torcido será convertido en llanura, y lo escabroso en amplio valle! (2:04) (1:55) Entonces se manifestará la gloria de Jehovah, (2:22) y todo mortal juntamente la verá; porque la boca de Jehovah ha hablado." Una voz decía: ¡Proclámalo! Y yo respondí: ¿Qué he de proclamar? Que todo mortal es hierba, y toda su gloria es como la flor del campo. La hierba se seca, y la flor se marchita; porque el viento de Jehovah sopla sobre ella. (2:43) Ciertamente el pueblo es hierba, pero la palabra de nuestro Dios permanece para siempre. (3:25) Sube sobre un monte alto, oh Sion, tú que anuncias buenas nuevas. Levanta con fuerza la voz, oh Jerusalén, tú que anuncias buenas nuevas. (4:03) Levántala; no temas. Di a las ciudades de Judá: "¡He aquí vuestro Dios!" He aquí que el Señor Jehovah vendrá con poder, y su brazo gobernará por él. He aquí que su retribución viene con él, y su obra delante de él. (4:29) Como un pastor, apacentará su rebaño; con su brazo lo reunirá. A los corderitos llevará en su seno, y conducirá con cuidado a las que todavía están criando. ¿Quién midió las aguas en el hueco de su mano y calculó la extensión de los cielos con su palmo? ¿Quién contuvo en una medida el polvo de la tierra, y pesó los montes con báscula y las colinas en balanza? (4:52) ¿Quién ha escudriñado al Espíritu de Jehovah, y quién ha sido su consejero y le ha enseñado? (5:19) ¿A quién pidió consejo, quién le guió en el camino correcto o le enseñó conocimiento? (5:53) Las naciones son como una gota de agua que cae de un balde, y son estimados como una capa de polvo sobre la balanza. El Líbano no bastaría para el fuego, ni todos sus animales para un holocausto. (6:19) Todas las naciones son como nada delante de él. (6:44) ¿A qué, pues, haréis semejante a Dios; o con qué imagen le compararéis? El escultor hace una imagen de fundición, y el platero la recubre con oro y le funde cadenas de plata. El que es pobre para ofrecer tal ofrenda escoge una madera que no se pudra y se busca un escultor experto, para que le haga una imagen que no se tambalee. (7:37) ¿Acaso no sabéis? ¿Acaso no habéis oído? ¿Acaso no se os ha dicho desde el principio? ¿Acaso no habéis comprendido la fundación del mundo? (8:03) Él es el que está sentado sobre el círculo de la tierra, cuyos habitantes le son como langostas. Él despliega los cielos como un velo y los extiende como una tienda para habitar. (8:18) Él convierte en nada a los poderosos, y a los gobernantes de la tierra hace como cosa vana. Apenas plantados, apenas su tallo ha echado raíz en la tierra, él sopla sobre ellos; y se secan. El torbellino los levanta como a la paja. (8:40) "¿A quién, pues, me haréis semejante, para que yo sea su igual?, dice el Santo. Levantad en alto vuestros ojos y mirad quién ha creado estas cosas. Él saca y cuenta al ejército de ellas; a todas llama por su nombre. Por la grandeza de su vigor y el poder de su fuerza, ninguna faltará." (9:57) ¿Por qué, pues, dices, oh Jacob; y hablas tú, oh Israel: "Mi camino le es oculto a Jehovah, y mi causa pasa inadvertida a mi Dios"? (10:27) ¿No lo has sabido? (0:00) ¿No has oído que Jehovah es el Dios eterno que creó los confines de la tierra? No se cansa ni se fatiga, y su entendimiento es insondable. Da fuerzas al cansado y le aumenta el poder al que no tiene vigor. (10:47) Aun los muchachos se fatigan y se cansan; los jóvenes tropiezan y caen. Pero los que esperan en Jehovah renovarán sus fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas. Correrán y no se cansarán; caminarán y no se fatigarán.

COMFORT FOR GOD'S PEOPLE (0:24) (1:09) "Comfort, comfort my people," says your God. "Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and announce to her that her time of forced labor is over, her iniquity has been pardoned, and she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins." (1:46)  A voice of one crying out: Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness; make a straight highway for our God in the desert. Every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; the uneven ground will become smooth and the rough places, a plain. (2:28) And the glory of the LORD will appear, and all humanity together will see it, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. THE WORD OF GOD STANDS FOREVER (2:40) A voice was saying, "Cry out!" Another said, "What should I cry out?" "All humanity is grass, and all its goodness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever." (3:17) THE GREATNESS OF GOD (0:41) (4:00) Zion, herald of good news, go up on a high mountain. Jerusalem, herald of good news, raise your voice loudly. Raise it, do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, "Here is your God!" See, the Lord GOD comes with strength, and his power establishes his rule. His wages are with him, and his reward accompanies him. (4:15) (4:27) He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment. He gently leads those that are nursing. (5:17) Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand or marked off the heavens with the span of his hand? Who has gathered the dust of the earth in a measure or weighed the mountains on a balance and the hills on the scales? (5:12) Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or who gave him counsel? Who did he consult? Who gave him understanding and taught him the paths of justice? Who taught him knowledge and showed him the way of understanding? (5:36) Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are considered as a speck of dust on the scales; he lifts up the islands like fine dust. (6:06) Lebanon's cedars are not enough for fuel, or its animals enough for a burnt offering. All the nations are as nothing before him; they are considered by him as empty nothingness. (6:36) With whom will you compare God? An idol that a smelter casts and a metalworker plates with gold and makes silver chains for? (7:00) A poor person contributes wood for a pedestal that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol that will not fall over. (7:16) Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not considered the foundations of the earth? God is enthroned above the circle of the earth; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. (7:46) He stretches out the heavens like thin cloth and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He reduces princes to nothing and makes judges of the earth like a wasteland. They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem hardly takes root in the ground when he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind carries them away like stubble. (8:36) "To whom will you compare me, or who is my equal?" (9:31) asks the Holy One. Look up and see! Who created these? He brings out the stars by number; he calls all of them by name. Because of his great power and strength, not one of them is missing. (9:50) Jacob, why do you say, and, Israel, why do you assert: "My way is hidden from the LORD, and my claim is ignored by my God"? (9:02) Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to his understanding. He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless. (9:17) Youths may become faint and weary, and young men stumble and fall, (0:00) but those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.

(00:15) En aquellos días cayó Ezequías enfermo para morir; y vino a él Isaías Profeta, hijo de Amoz, y le dijo: El SEÑOR dice así: "Pon en orden tu casa, porque vas a morir y no vivirás." Entonces volvió Ezequías su rostro a la pared, e hizo oración a Jehovah: Oh SEÑOR, te ruego te acuerdes ahora que he andado delante de ti en verdad y con íntegro corazón; y que he hecho lo bueno ante tus ojos. Ezequías lloró con gran llanto. (0:45) (1:32) Entonces vino palabra del SEÑOR a Isaías: "Así ha dicho Jehovah, Dios de tu padre David: 'He oído tu oración y he visto tus lágrimas. He aquí que yo añadiré quince años a tus días, y libraré a ti y a esta ciudad de mano del rey de Asiria. Defenderé esta ciudad por amor a mí mismo y por amor a mi siervo David. (1:50) Y esto te servirá de señal de parte de Jehovah, de que hará esto que ha dicho: (2:27) He aquí que yo haré retroceder diez gradas la sombra que ha descendido hacia atrás a causa del sol, en la gradería de Acaz.'" Y el sol regresó atrás diez gradas sobre las gradas por las cuales había descendido. (3:20) Escrito de Ezequías, rey de Judá, después que enfermó y fue sanado de su enfermedad: Yo dije: "En medio de mis días pasaré por las puertas del Seol; privado soy del resto de mis años." (4:14) Dije: "Ya no veré a Jehovah en la tierra de los vivientes. Como hace el tejedor, he enrollado mi vida; él corta la hebra de mi tejido. Desde el día hasta la noche me doblegas por completo. (4:37) Mi clamor dura hasta el amanecer; como un león, él tritura todos mis huesos. Desde el día hasta la noche me doblegas por completo. Chillo como la golondrina y la grulla; gimo como la paloma. Mis ojos lloran hacia lo alto: Oh Señor, estoy oprimido; intervén en mi favor." ¿Qué, pues, diré? Porque él me ha hablado, y él mismo lo ha hecho. En la amargura de mi alma, andaré con inquietud todos mis años. (5:33) Oh Señor, para tales cosas se vive; y en todas ellas está la vida de mi espíritu. ¡Oh, fortaléceme y hazme vivir! He aquí, fue por mi bien que tuve gran amargura, pero tú libraste mi vida del hoyo de la destrucción, pues has echado tras tus espaldas todos mis pecados. (5:56) (6:20) Porque el Seol no te agradecerá, ni la muerte te alabará. HEZEKIAH'S SICKNESS AND RECOVERY (0:10) In those days Hezekiah became terminally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came and said to him, (0:43) "This is what the LORD says: 'Set your house in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.'” Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD. (0:53) He said, "Please, LORD, remember how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly, and have done what pleases you." And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah: (1:25) "Go and tell Hezekiah, 'This is what the LORD God of your ancestor David says: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Look, I am going to add fifteen years to your life. (1:56) And I will rescue you and this city from the grasp of the king of Assyria; I will defend this city. (2:15) This is the sign to you from the LORD that he will do what he has promised: I am going to make the sun's shadow that goes down on the stairway of Ahaz go back by ten steps.' So the sun's shadow went back the ten steps it had descended. (2:47) A poem by King Hezekiah of Judah after he had been sick and had recovered from his illness: “I said ‘In the prime of my life I must go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the rest of my years. I said ‘I will never see the LORD, the LORD in the land of the living. My dwelling is plucked up and removed from me like a shepherd's tent. (4:59) Lord, by such things people live, and in every one of them my spirit finds life; you have restored me to health and let me live. Your love has delivered me from the Pit of destruction, for you have thrown all my sins behind your back. For Sheol cannot thank you; Death cannot praise you. Those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness. (5:31) The living, only the living can thank you, as I do today; a father will make your faithfulness known to children. (6:06) The LORD is ready to save me; we will play stringed instruments all the days of our lives at the house of the LORD. (6:26) Now Isaiah had said, "Let them take a lump of pressed figs and apply it to his infected skin, so that he may recover." And Hezekiah had asked, "What is the sign that I will go up to the LORD's temple?” Isaiah 39 ENVOYS FROM BABYLON (6:42) At that time Merodach-baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah since he heard that he had been sick and had recovered. (7:12) Hezekiah was pleased with the letters, and he showed the envoys his treasure house (the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil) and all his armory, and everything that was found in his treasuries. There was nothing in his palace and in all his realm that Hezekiah did not show them. (8:02) Then the prophet Isaiah came to King Hezekiah and asked him, "What did these men say, and where did they come to you from? " Hezekiah replied, "They came to me from a distant country, from Babylon." Isaiah asked, "What have they seen in your palace? " Hezekiah answered, "They have seen everything in my palace. There isn't anything in my treasuries that I didn't show them." (8:51) Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD of Armies: 'Look, the days are coming when everything in your palace and all that your fathers have stored up until today will be carried off to Babylon; nothing will be left,' says the LORD. 'Some of your descendants (who come from you, whom you father) will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon." (9:30) Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "The word of the LORD that you have spoken is good," for he thought: There will be peace and security during my lifetime.

(9:22) "Y esto te servirá de señal, (11:29) oh Ezequías: Este año comeréis de lo que brota de por sí…en el tercer año sembrad y segad; plantad viñas y comed de su fruto. Y los sobrevivientes de la casa de Judá volverán a dar fruto por arriba. (11:50) Porque de Jerusalén saldrá un remanente, y del monte Sion los sobrevivientes. ¡El celo de Jehovah de los Ejércitos hará esto! Seeking help from Isaiah (0:38) (1:29) When King Hezekiah heard their report he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth, and went to the LORD's temple. He sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, who were wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz. (0:58) They said to him, "This is what Hezekiah says: 'Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace. It is as if children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them. (1:59) Perhaps the LORD your God heard the Assyrians mock the living God, and will rebuke them. (2:18) Therefore offer a prayer for the surviving remnant.' Isaiah said to them: (2:46) Don't be afraid because of their blaspheming words, I will cause him to fall by the sword.' (3:09) When the royal spokesman heard that the king of Assyria had pulled out of Lachish, he left and found him fighting against Libnah. The king had heard concerning King Tirhakah of Cush, "He has set out to fight against you." (3:29) So when he heard this, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying: 'Don't let your God, on whom you rely, deceive you by promising that (4:02) Jerusalem won't be handed over to the king of Assyria. Look, you have heard how the kings of Assyria completely destroyed the nations that my predecessors conquered… HEZEKIAH'S PRAYER FOR DELIVERANCE (6:22) (5:06) Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers' hands, read it, then went up to the LORD's temple and spread it out before the LORD and prayed: (5:55) LORD of Armies, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth. LORD, it is true that the kings of Assyria have devastated all these countries and their lands…save us so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone are God. SENNACHERIB'S FALL (7:59) (7:09) Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: "The LORD, the God of Israel, says, 'Because you prayed to me about King Sennacherib of Assyria, this is the word the LORD has spoken against him: (9:10) Virgin Daughter Zion despises you and scorns you; against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel! You have mocked the LORD through your servants… (0:00) Have you not heard? I designed it long ago; (10:20) I planned it in days gone by. I have now brought it to pass, and you have crushed fortified cities into piles of rubble…But I know your sitting down, your going out and your coming in, and your raging against me. Because your raging against me and your arrogance have reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth; I will make you go back the way you came. (8:40) (11:02) [To Hezekiah] “This will be the sign for you: This year you will eat what grows on its own, the second year what grows from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit. The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward. (11:44) "Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city, shoot an arrow here, come before it with a shield, or build up a siege ramp against it. He will go back the way he came, and he will not enter this city. This is the LORD's declaration. (12:33) I will defend this city and rescue it for my sake and for the sake of my servant David." (12:52) Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies! So King Sennacherib of Assyria broke camp and left. He returned home and lived in Nineveh. One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him down with the sword and escaped to the land of Ararat. Then his son Esar-haddon became king in his place.

Ahora pues, comprométete con mi señor, el rey de Asiria, y yo te daré 2.000 caballos, si acaso tú puedes proveer quienes cabalguen sobre ellos. ¿Cómo podrás resistir a un oficial de uno de los más insignificantes servidores de mi señor, confiando en Egipto por carros y jinetes? (3:41) Y ahora, ¿acaso he subido contra esta tierra para destruirla sin que haya intervenido Jehovah? Jehovah me ha dicho: "Sube a esa tierra y destrúyela."(4:04) Entonces Eliaquim, Sebna y Jóaj dijeron al Rabsaces: Por favor, habla a tus siervos en arameo, porque nosotros lo entendemos. No nos hables en hebreo, a oídos del pueblo que está sobre la muralla. Tampoco os haga confiar Ezequías en Jehovah, diciendo: 'Ciertamente Jehovah nos librará, y esta ciudad no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria.'" (6:03) ¡No escuchéis a Ezequías! Porque así ha dicho el rey de Asiria: "Haced la paz conmigo y rendíos a mí. Y comerá cada uno de su vid y de su higuera, y beberá cada uno de las aguas de su pozo, hasta que yo venga y os lleve a una tierra como la vuestra, tierra de grano y de vino, tierra de pan y de viñas.(6:32) No os engañe Ezequías, diciendo: (7:19) 'Jehovah nos librará.' ¿Acaso alguno de los dioses de las naciones libró su tierra de la mano del rey de Asiria? ¿Dónde están los dioses de Hamat y de Arfad? ¿Dónde están los dioses de Sefarvaim? ¿Acaso libraron éstos a Samaria de mi mano? ¿Cuáles de entre todos los dioses de estas tierras libraron sus tierras de mi mano, para que Jehovah libre a Jerusalén de mi mano?"(7:46) Pero ellos callaron y no respondieron ni una palabra, porque había una orden del rey que decía: "No le respondáis." Entonces Eliaquim hijo de Hilquías, el administrador del palacio; Sebna, el escriba; y Jóaj hijo de Asaf, el cronista, fueron a Ezequías con sus vestiduras rasgadas y le declararon las palabras del Rabsaces.

SENNACHERIB INVADES JUDAH (0:35) In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, King Sennacherib of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them. (0:12) Then the king of Assyria sent his royal spokesman, along with a massive army, from Lachish to King Hezekiah at Jerusalem. The Assyrian stood near the conduit of the upper pool, by the road to the Launderer's Field. Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who was in charge of the palace, Shebna the court secretary, and Joah son of Asaph, the court historian, came out to him. (1:31) The royal spokesman said to them, "Tell Hezekiah: The great king, the king of Assyria, says this: What are you relying on? You think mere words are strategy and strength for war. (2:14) Who are you now relying on that you have rebelled against me? Look, you are relying on Egypt, that splintered reed of a staff that will pierce the hand of anyone who grabs it and leans on it. (2:40) This is how Pharaoh king of Egypt is to all who rely on him. Suppose you say to me, 'We rely on the LORD our God.' Isn't he the one whose high places and altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, 'You are to worship at this altar'? (3:18) “Now make a deal with my master, the king of Assyria. I'll give you two thousand horses if you're able to supply riders for them! How then can you drive back a single officer among the least of my master's servants? How can you rely on Egypt for chariots and horsemen? (4:02) Have I attacked this land to destroy it without the LORD's approval? The LORD said to me, 'Attack this land and destroy it.'” (4:37) Then Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah said to the royal spokesman, "Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, since we understand it. Don't speak to us in Hebrew within earshot of the people who are on the wall." But the royal spokesman replied: "Has my master sent me to speak these words to your master and to you, and not to the men who are sitting on the wall, who are destined with you to eat their own excrement and drink their own urine?" (5:04) Then the royal spokesman stood and called out loudly in Hebrew: Listen to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria! This is what the king says: "Don't let Hezekiah deceive you, for he cannot rescue you. (5:39) Don't let Hezekiah persuade you to rely on the LORD, saying, 'The LORD will certainly rescue us! This city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.' Don't listen to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says: (6:12) "Make peace with me and surrender to me. Then every one of you may eat from his own vine and his own fig tree and drink water from his own cistern until I come and take you away to a land like your own land—a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards. (6:47) Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you by saying, 'The LORD will rescue us.' (7:26) Has any one of the gods of the nations rescued his land from the power of the king of Assyria? Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they rescued Samaria from my power? Who among all the gods of these lands ever rescued his land from my power? So will the LORD rescue Jerusalem from my power?” (7:56) But they kept silent; they didn't say anything, for the king's command was, "Don't answer him." Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who was in charge of the palace, Shebna the court secretary, and Joah son of Asaph, the court historian, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn and reported to him the words of the royal spokesman.

(4:09) Los rescatados de Jehovah volverán y entrarán en Sion con cánticos. Y sobre sus cabezas habrá alegría perpetua. Alcanzarán gozo y alegría, y huirán la tristeza y el gemido.

THE RANSOMED SHALL RETURN (0:15) The wilderness and the dry land will be glad; the desert will rejoice and blossom like a wildflower. (0:30) It will blossom abundantly and will also rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. (0:52) They will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. (1:06) Strengthen the weak hands, steady the shaking knees! (1:19) Say to the cowardly: "Be strong; do not fear! In the haunt of jackals, in their lairs, there will be grass, reeds, and papyrus. (2:29) A [thoroughfare] road will be there and a way; it will be called the Holy Way. The unclean and the sinner may not go over it, and those who go on it will not be turned out of the way by the foolish. (2:50) The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for the one who walks the path. Fools will not wander on it. (3:39) (4:21) There will be no lion there, and no vicious beast will go up on it; they will not be found there. (3:21) But the redeemed will walk on it, those delivered from bondage will travel on it, and the redeemed of the LORD will return and come to Zion with singing, crowned with unending joy. (3:34) Joy and gladness will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee. (4:01) A thoroughfare will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it; it is reserved for those authorized to use it; fools will not stray into it…Those whom the Lord has ransomed will return that way. They will enter Zion with a happy shout. Unending joy will crown them, happiness and joy will overwhelm them; grief and suffering will disappear. Even those whom he has made free, will come back again; they will come with songs to Zion; on their heads will be eternal joy; delight and joy will be theirs, and sorrow and sounds of grief will be gone for ever.

He aquí que descenderá sobre Edom; para juicio, sobre el pueblo de mi anatema." Porque Jehovah tiene sacrificios en Bosra, y una gran matanza en la tierra de Edom. (3:17) Junto con ellos caerán los toros salvajes, y los novillos junto con los toros. Su tierra se saciará de sangre, y su suelo se saturará con el sebo. (3:35) Porque es día de venganza de Jehovah, año de retribución por la causa de Sion. Sus arroyos se convertirán en brea, y su polvo en azufre. Su tierra llegará a ser brea ardiente. (3:54) No se apagará ni de noche ni de día; perpetuamente subirá su humo. De generación en generación quedará en ruinas; nunca jamás pasará nadie por ella. (4:32) La poseerán el búho y el erizo; la lechuza y el cuervo habitarán en ella. Sobre ella se extenderán el cordel del caos y la plomada del vacío. (5:03) Sus nobles no tendrán nada allí que pueda llamarse reino, y todos sus gobernantes serán como nada. (5:30) Sobre sus palacios crecerán espinos; y sobre sus fortalezas, ortigas y cardos. Serán guarida de chacales y campo de avestruces. Las fieras del desierto se encontrarán con las hienas. El chivo salvaje gritará a su compañero. La lechuza también hallará allí sosiego, y hallará reposo para sí. (6:07) Allí anidará y ovará el búho; empollará y los cubrirá bajo su sombra. También se reunirán allí los buitres, cada cual con su pareja. (6:32) Buscad en el libro de Jehovah y leed: “Ninguno de éstos faltará; no faltará ninguno con su respectiva pareja. Porque la boca de Jehovah lo ha mandado, y su mismo Espíritu los reunirá. Él realizó el sorteo para ellos, y su mano les repartió a cordel. Para siempre la tendrán como heredad, y habitarán allí de generación en generación.”

(3:14) JUDGMENT ON THE NATIONS (0:00)You nations, come here and listen; you peoples, pay attention! Let the earth and all that fills it hear, the world and all that comes from it. The LORD is angry with all the nations, furious with all their armies. He will set them apart for destruction, giving them over to slaughter. (1:06) Their slain will be thrown out, and the stench of their corpses will rise; the mountains will flow with their blood. (1:23) All the stars in the sky will dissolve. The sky will roll up like a scroll, and its stars will all wither as leaves wither on the vine, and foliage on the fig tree. (1:51) When my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens, it will then come down on Edom and on the people I have set apart for destruction. The LORD's sword is covered with blood. It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom. The wild oxen will be struck down with them, and young bulls with the mighty bulls. Their land will be soaked with blood, and their soil will be saturated with fat. (2:56) For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a time of paying back Edom for its hostility against Zion. Edom's streams will be turned into pitch, her soil into sulfur; her land will become burning pitch. It will never go out—day or night. (3:42) Its smoke will go up forever. It will be desolate, from generation to generation; no one will pass through it forever and ever. Eagle owls and herons will possess it, and long-eared owls and ravens will dwell there. The LORD will stretch out a measuring line and a plumb line over her for her destruction and chaos. (4:22) No nobles will be left to proclaim a king, and all her princes will come to nothing. Her palaces will be overgrown with thorns; her fortified cities, with thistles and briers. (5:34) She will become a dwelling for jackals, an abode for ostriches. The desert creatures will meet hyenas, and one wild goat will call to another. Indeed, the night birds will stay there and will find a resting place. Sand partridges will make their nests there; they will lay and hatch their eggs and will gather their broods under their shadows. Indeed, the birds of prey will gather there, each with its mate. (6:01) Search and read the scroll of the LORD: Not one of them will be missing, none will be lacking its mate, because he has ordered it by my mouth, and he will gather them by his Spirit. He has cast the lot for them; his hand allotted their portion with a measuring line. They will possess it forever; they will dwell in it from generation to generation.

(1:16) OH SEÑOR, TEN MISERICORDIA DE NOSOTROS (0:00) (0:21) ¡Ay de ti, que destruyes, y nunca fuiste destruido; que traicionas, y a ti no te han traicionado! Cuando acabes de destruir, tú serás destruido; y cuando acabes de traicionar, te traicionarán. (0:43) ¡Oh Jehovah, ten misericordia de nosotros, porque en ti hemos confiado! Sé tú nuestro brazo cada mañana; sé también nuestra salvación en el tiempo de angustia. (1:29) Los pueblos huyen ante el estruendo del tumulto; cuando tú te levantas, se dispersan las naciones. El botín fue amontonado como se amontonan las orugas; como se lanzan las langostas, se lanzan sobre él. (2:13) (2:37) ¡Exaltado sea Jehovah, porque mora en las alturas! (2:55) Él ha llenado a Sion de derecho y de justicia. Y reinarán en tus tiempos la sabiduría y la ciencia, y la fuerza de la salvación; el temor del SEÑOR será su tesoro (3:11). He aquí, que sus embajadores darán voces afuera, los mensajeros de paz llorarán amargamente. Los caminos nos han quedado desolados; los caminantes han dejado de pasar. (3:40) Él ha violado la alianza y ha rechazado a los testigos. No ha tenido respeto a los hombres. La tierra se ha secado y languidece. El Líbano se ha avergonzado y se ha marchitado. Sarón se ha convertido en Arabá; Basán y el Carmelo se han sacudido. (4:24) "Ahora me levantaré", dice Jehovah. "Ahora seré exaltado; ahora seré ensalzado. Concebisteis paja, y disteis a luz rastrojo. Vuestro aliento será un fuego que os consuma. (4:50) Los pueblos serán completamente calcinados; como espinas cortadas serán quemados en el fuego. (5:14) Vosotros que estáis lejos, oíd lo que he hecho; y vosotros que estáis cerca, conoced mi poder." Los pecadores se asombraron en Sion, espanto sobrecogió a los impíos e hipócritas. (5:37) ¿Quién de nosotros morará con el fuego consumidor? ¿Quién de nosotros habitará con las llamas eternas? (6:10) El que camina en justicia, el que habla rectitud, el que aborrece la ganancia de violencias, el que sacude sus manos de recibir cohecho; el que tapa su oreja, por no oír sangre; el que aprieta sus ojos, por no ver cosa mala; éste habitará en las alturas; fortaleza de rocas será su lugar de acogimiento. Su pan le será provisto, y su agua no faltará. (7:11) Tus ojos verán al Rey en su hermosura; verán una tierra que se extiende a la distancia. Tu corazón imaginará el espanto, y dirá: ¿Qué es del escriba? ¿Qué es del pesador del tributo? ¿Qué es del que pone en lista las casas más insignes?  ¿Dónde está el que pasaba revista a las torres?" No verás a aquel pueblo espantable, pueblo de lengua oscura de entender, de lengua tartamuda, que no lo comprendas. (8:15) Verás a Sion, ciudad de nuestras solemnidades; tus ojos verán a Jerusalén, morada de quietud; tienda que no será desarmada, ni sus estacas serán arrancadas, ni ninguna de sus cuerdas será rota. Porque ciertamente allí Jehovah será poderoso para con nosotros, un lugar de ríos y anchas corrientes, por donde no irá ninguna embarcación de remos, ni una nave poderosa pasará por él. (9:02) Porque el SEÑOR será nuestro juez, el SEÑOR será nuestro dador de leyes, el SEÑOR será nuestro rey, Él mismo nos salvará (9:25). (9:55) Tus cuerdas se han aflojado; no pueden sostener el soporte de su mástil ni desplegar la vela. Pero entonces repartirán la presa, un cuantioso botín, y hasta los cojos arrebatarán la presa. Ningún morador dirá: "Estoy enfermo." Al pueblo que habite en ella le será perdonada su iniquidad.

(0:59) O LORD, BE GRACIOUS TO US (0:00) (7:40) Woe, you destroyer never destroyed, you traitor never betrayed! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed. When you have finished betraying, they will betray you. (0:39) LORD, be gracious to us! We wait for you. Be our strength every morning and our salvation in time of trouble. (1:18) The peoples flee at the thunderous noise; the nations scatter when you rise in your majesty. Your spoil will be gathered as locusts are gathered; people will swarm over it like an infestation of locusts. (1:48) The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. There will be times of security for you—a storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD is Zion's treasure. (2:26) Listen! Their warriors cry loudly in the streets; the messengers of peace weep bitterly. The highways are deserted; travel has ceased. An agreement has been broken, cities despised, and human life disregarded. The land mourns and withers; Lebanon is ashamed and wilted. Sharon is like a desert; Bashan and Carmel 🍃shake off their leaves🍁. (3:36) "Now I will rise up," says the LORD. "Now I will lift myself up. Now I will be exalted. You will conceive chaff; you will give birth to stubble. Your breath is fire that will consume you. The peoples will be burned to ashes, like thorns cut down and burned in a fire. (4:14) You who are far off, hear what I have done; you who are near, know my strength." The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling seizes the ungodly: "Who among us can dwell with a consuming fire? (4:47) Who among us can dwell with ever-burning flames?" The one who lives righteously and speaks rightly, who refuses profit from extortion, whose hand never takes a bribe, who stops his ears from listening to murderous plots and shuts his eyes against evil schemes: he will dwell on the heights; his refuge will be the rocky fortresses, his food provided, his water assured. (5:30) Your eyes will see the King in his beauty; (6:02) you will see a vast land. Your mind will meditate on the past terror: "Where is the accountant? Where is the tribute collector? Where is the one who spied out our defenses?" You will no longer see the barbarians, a people whose speech is difficult to comprehend (who stammer in a language that is not understood.) Look at Zion, the city of our festival times. (6:56) Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful pasture, a tent that does not wander; its tent pegs will not be pulled up nor will any of its cords be loosened. For the majestic one, our LORD, will be there, a place of rivers and broad streams where ships that are rowed will not go, and majestic vessels will not pass. For the LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King. He will save us. (8:00) Your ropes are slack; they cannot hold the base of the mast or spread out the flag. Then abundant spoil will be divided, the lame will plunder it, and none there will say, "I am sick." The people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity.

(3:21) ¡AY DE LOS QUE DESCIENDEN A EGIPTO POR AYUDA! (0:46) Buscan apoyo en los caballos; confían en los carros de guerra, por ser numerosos; y en los jinetes, por ser muy poderosos. Pero no miran al Santo de Israel, ni buscan a Jehovah. No obstante, él también es sabio y traerá el desastre; no retirará sus palabras. Se levantará contra la casa de los malhechores y contra la ayuda de los que obran iniquidad. (1:50) Los egipcios son hombres, no dioses. Sus caballos son carne, no espíritu. De manera que cuando Jehovah extienda su mano, tropezará el que da la ayuda, y caerá el que la recibe. Todos ellos serán exterminados juntos. (2:21) Porque así me ha dicho Jehovah: "Como el león o el cachorro de león ruge sobre la presa, y cuando se reúne contra él un grupo completo de pastores, no temerá de sus voces ni se agachará ante el tumulto de ellos. (3:04) Así descenderá Jehovah de los Ejércitos para luchar sobre el monte Sion y sobre su colina. (0:00) Como los pájaros que revolotean, así defenderá Jehovah de los Ejércitos a Jerusalén. La defenderá y la auxiliará, la preservará y la rescatará." (3:32) ¡Volved, oh hijos de Israel, a aquel contra quien os habéis rebelado de manera tan radical! Porque en aquel día el hombre repudiará sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro que para vosotros han hecho vuestras manos pecadoras. (4:04) Entonces Asiria caerá a espada, pero no de ser humano. Sus jóvenes serán sometidos a trabajo forzado y sus dirigentes tendrán pavor a causa de la bandera. Isaías 32 UN REY REINARÁ EN JUSTICIA (4:54) (5:49) He aquí que un rey reinará según la justicia, y los magistrados gobernarán según el derecho. Aquel hombre será como un escondedero contra el viento y como un refugio contra la tempestad. Será como corrientes de aguas en tierra de sequedad, como la sombra de un gran peñasco en una tierra sedienta. Entonces no se cerrarán los ojos de los que ven, y los oídos de los que oyen estarán atentos. El corazón de los imprudentes entenderá para comprender, y la lengua de los tartamudos hablará con fluidez y claridad. (7:00) El vil nunca más será llamado generoso; ni noble, el canalla. Porque el vil habla vilezas; su corazón trama la iniquidad para practicar la impiedad y hablar perversidades contra Jehovah, a fin de dejar vacía al alma hambrienta y privar de bebida al sediento. Pues el canalla tiene recursos de perversidad. Él hace planes para enredar a los afligidos con palabras engañosas, aun cuando el pobre hable con derecho. Pero el generoso concebirá acciones generosas, y por las acciones generosas permanecerá. LAS MUJERES COMPLACIENTES RECIBEN ADVERTENCIA DE PELIGRO (8:19) Oh mujeres indolentes, levantaos; oíd mi voz. Oh hijas confiadas, escuchad mi palabra: Dentro de poco más de un año os estremeceréis, oh confiadas; porque la vendimia fallará, y la cosecha no vendrá.   Temblad, oh indolentes; estremeceos, oh confiadas. Despojaos, desnudaos; ceñid con cilicio vuestras caderas. Golpeaos el pecho por los campos agradables, por la vid fecunda. Sobre la tierra de mi pueblo brotarán espinos y cardos, sobre las casas donde hay regocijo en la ciudad alegre. Porque el palacio ha quedado abandonado, y ha cesado el bullicio de la ciudad. La colina y la torre del centinela se han convertido en lugares arrasados para siempre, lugares de retozo para asnos monteses y prados para rebaños. (10:18) Cuando sobre nosotros sea derramado el Espíritu de lo alto, y el desierto se transforme en un campo fértil, y el campo fértil sea considerado bosque, entonces habitará el derecho en el desierto, y la justicia se establecerá en el campo fértil. (10:50) El efecto de la justicia será paz; el resultado de la justicia será tranquilidad y seguridad para siempre. Mi pueblo habitará en una morada de paz, en habitaciones seguras y en frescos lugares de reposo. Aunque el bosque caiga y la ciudad sea totalmente abatida, dichosos vosotros los que sembráis junto a todas las aguas, los que metéis en los campos los cascos del buey y del asno.

(4:26) WOE TO THOSE WHO GO DOWN TO EGYPT (0:31) Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and who depend on horses! They trust in the abundance of chariots and in the large number of horsemen. (1:15) They do not look to the Holy One of Israel and they do not seek the LORD. But he also is wise and brings disaster. He does not go back on what he says; he will rise up against the house of the wicked and against the allies of evildoers. (2:08), (2:46) Egyptians are men, not God; their horses are flesh, not spirit. When the LORD raises his hand to strike, the helper will stumble and the one who is helped will fall; both will perish together. (2:59) For this is what the LORD said to me: As a lion or young lion growls over its prey when a band of shepherds is called out against it, and is not terrified by their shouting or subdued by their noise, (3:12) so the LORD of Armies will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its hill. (0:00) Like hovering birds, so the LORD of Armies will protect Jerusalem—by protecting it, he will rescue it, by sparing it, he will deliver it. (3:45) Return to the one the Israelites have greatly rebelled against. For on that day, every one of you will reject the silver and gold idols that your own hands have sinfully made. (4:52) Then Assyria will fall, but not by human sword; a sword will devour him, but not one made by man. He will flee from the sword; his young men will be put to forced labor. His rock will pass away because of fear, and his officers will be afraid because of the signal flag. This is the LORD's declaration—whose fire is in Zion and whose furnace is in Jerusalem.   Ch. 32 (5:30) A KING WILL REIGN IN RIGHTEOUSNESS (5:58) Indeed, a king will reign righteously, and rulers will rule justly. Each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain, like flowing streams in a dry land and the shade of a massive rock in an arid land. Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. The reckless mind will gain knowledge, and the stammering tongue will speak clearly and fluently. A fool will no longer be called a noble, nor a scoundrel said to be important. For a fool speaks foolishness and his mind plots iniquity. He lives in a godless way and speaks falsely about the LORD. (7:20) He leaves the hungry empty and deprives the thirsty of drink. The scoundrel's weapons are destructive; he hatches plots to destroy the needy with lies, even when the poor person says what is right. But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes. COMPLACENT WOMEN WARNED OF DISASTER (7:57) Stand up, you complacent women; listen to me. Pay attention to what I say, you overconfident daughters. In a little more than a year you overconfident ones will shudder, for the grapes will fail and the harvest will not come. Shudder, you complacent ones; (8:15) tremble, you overconfident ones! Strip yourselves bare and put sackcloth around your waists. Beat your breasts in mourning for the delightful fields and the fruitful vines, for the ground of my people growing thorns and briers, indeed, for every joyous house in the jubilant city. For the palace will be deserted, the busy city abandoned. (9:28) The hill and the watchtower will become barren places forever, the joy of wild donkeys, and a pasture for flocks, until the Spirit from on high is poured out on us. Then the desert will become an orchard, and the orchard will seem like a forest. Then justice will inhabit the wilderness, and righteousness will dwell in the orchard. The result of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever. (10:54) Then my people will dwell in a peaceful place, in safe and secure dwellings. But hail will level the forest, and the city will sink into the depths. You will be happy as you sow seed beside abundant water, and as you let oxen and donkeys range freely.
