Country Music Heroes Have A New Home With Richard Lynch My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who is moving forward into his future by keeping true to his past. Based in Waynesville Ohio, he is an American Country music artist, who has released a long list of chart topping hits in the world of traditional country music, and delights audiences across America with his brand of infectious honest to god country. And its with little surprise that he is travelling the highways and byways, as this is a passion that has been with him since the early days. As he says "I knew that music was what I wanted to do from an early age. We just were country people who loved country life. I remember in study hall, I would get out my guitar and we'd go pick and sing" But what makes this guy even more interesting, is he does all this whilst still being a farmer and barn designer/builder by trade. Yes he manages to to makes an honest, blue collar living at the same time as playing over 100 events/shows each year, all over the country. How he fits in the two I have no idea, but we will find out during the show. He credits much of that philosophy to the work ethic and morals that were instilled in him by his parents. He says "I grew up on a 110 acre farm. We always had plenty of livestock, horses, and cattle – plenty of chores and things to do. We didn't have a whole lot of money growing up, but we never went hungry or had any wants. I know what it's like to go through hard times, but by the same token, I wouldn't trade the way I was raised for nothing. It made me decide and realize that in life, you get what you put into it." Along with his band he is certainly doing just that all over America. with music as he says that is "Country, the way country music was meant to be" So with a foot firmly planted in the worlds of Hank Williams, Hank Snow, and the Ryman Theatre legends, what does he think of the new style of country music being released today? And if he could go back in time and record with anyone, who would he choose? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Richard Lynch

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who has been building her entrepreneurial business since she was a young twelve year old girl interested in computers. And as we show you on the introduction and the show, a career is built by many different steps. Many different phases until you get to what looks like the natural place. The thing that you were born to do. Back in 2002 she launched her first website, a manga scanlation site (translating comics from Japanese & English into Polish) and grew it to 40K views in under 5 months and even managed a virtual staff of people who volunteered to support the growth. Jump on seven years, and she was then running a successful photography business, and this was her life for seven years, before stepping back into the corporate world when....as she she says in her own words "I worked my tail off in the marketing agency world, including a stint at a corporate ad agency as community manager and social media/email marketing strategist. This is when I got really obsessed with branding, business development, list-building and all the ways biz owners can create consistent revenue without losing their shit." The first dots had been well and truly placed, and now it was a case of joining them up with the creation of her own self named Digital Marketing Agency. This is a successful digital marketing consulting & education company where she helps modern businesses and entrepreneurs to grow their presence, make more money, and truly blow up online so they can become leaders in their field. And once again as she says "I freaking LOVE it!" So did she always know that she was gently placing the foundations in place as she went, or was each phase in her life supposed to be her legacy work? And what does she find is the hardest part of growing a business? The sales, marketing, or the hours that it takes to get it off the ground? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Kamila Gornia Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Kamila Gornia such as: We discuss the reasons why she loves marketing more than anything, and why she feels this is now a big part of her life that she couldn't leave behind. Why using your super talent and personal energy to attract clients in the world is such an amazing method of finding the abundance in your life. The ability to have persistence in your business and simply turning up everyday is such an amazing way to overcome the obstacles that life throws at us. and lastly…. How freaking weird it was that she was able to run a business as a twelve year old, a fact she now looks back on and is amazed at herself.
Todays guest has from the first family vacations wanted to be free. She was always the child kicking up a fuss when her parents told her it was time to go home. She was always the child literally counting off the days until holidays came round again. So its with little surprise that upon reaching adulthood, that freedom of spirit has overtaken her and she has undertaken a series of footsteps in the unknown. Never Ending Footsteps in fact, which is the name of her blog, and the perfect description of her life in distant shores. Starting the dream in 2006, it took her five years of extreme effort, working three jobs, overcoming a series of anxiety disorders, and saving everything she could, to ensure that her dream of travel could be fulfilled. And on the 17th July 2011, she departed whilst crying like a baby, and now nearly three years later as her footsteps are able to be traced across 45 countries, and five continents, it seems she has no real desire to return to England and settle back into a life of normal domesticity. And why should she, since she has now found a way of funding her adventures, by blogging, writing, and other online activities too. She has become a digital nomad, and is loving every second of her life away from the rain and the cold. If this seems the perfect life, then think again, as with all things that seem an instant success, there are a collection of stumbles, falls, financial mistakes and hardships that would make many people return to the safety of their home. But today's guest is made of sterner stuff than that, and is a perfect guest for a show like Join Up Dots. So lets introduce you to the only and only, Lauren Juliff

Turner Barr: A Man Who Is Going Around The World In 80 Jobs..Now He Can Add Podcast Guest To The List Too! Todays guest can only be described as the new Jules Vern, or for younger listeners Michael Palin, as he is the creator of the site Around the world in 80 jobs whereby he crosses the globe, working in various positions of employment and of course sharing with us his successes, failures and crazy stories of a life on the road. Back in 2007,after graduating from UC Berkeley our guest set out on the open road for a year of adventure. With no clear plan. No fixed direction. And nothing more than a vague feeling of doing something memorable it was a path very different from where he is now. And looking back from where he is now, it seems almost unbelievable that he didn't immediately start blogging, creating content, or attempting to montize his wanderings across the globe. But that is the beauty of a show like Join Up Dots, as many times a persons true path in life only becomes visible to them when hitting a crossroads. And in this case it was an economic crossroads that made him decide on what he wanted to do in life. The economy had tanked in 2008, and the prospect of getting straight back into employment when returning to the US suddenly seemed a distant dream. And was it a dream that our guest was…..well dreaming about anyway? Lets find out as we add another job on the list as podcast guest (although Im not going to pay him…just keep that to ourselves) the amazing, Mr Turner Barr.

Useful content generally. It’s a shame that David felt the need to stereotype women as being focussed on family, chocolate and wine. It was unhelpful and irrelevant to the conversation.
David Ralph is hilarious! Such a great and informative show to help breakout of the corporate rat race!
Loved this. Just listened to this after waking up.
