In this episode of The Journal, I share why I left social media for 2+ months, how the journey of content catchup is helping me become a better video creator, and using the "wobble" I felt from social justice warriors with limited perspective to further my awakening on a spiritual level.
Welcome to The Journal 007, a solo podcast series where we have a 1 on 1 chat. We talk about the realizations, perspectives, and experiments from recent experiences in my self growth and business journey β€” all from a psychological, systematic and spiritual perspective.
Azel/Giuseppe Cuna is a world class beatboxer and social media influencer. Azel is known for being the Italian beatbox champion, along with his iconic signature sounds of Liquid Bass and Vortex Whistle and for his passionate love of riddim, dubstep and similar genres of bass music. He's created multiple viral beatbox covers of songs for Svdden Death, and connected the worlds of dubstep and beatbox in 2020 by creating the first half beatbox, half dubstep song with Snails. In addition to, he's also one of the most genuine, kind and passionate souls I've ever met and I'm fortunate to call him one of my best friends. In the Azel interview, we get into his secret passions, what it's like to be such a public facing person at a young age, and what Azel was like as a kid β€” and how his childhood qualities apply to his present self. We cover the journey of how he came a world class beatboxer β€” from how he discovered beatbox, to the most intense year of work he put in, to becoming the Italian beatbox champion at the ripe age of 17 years old. Throughout, we highlight the journey he's had with developing his signature sounds β€” the famous Azel liquid bass & vortex whistle β€” as well as struggles he had in the early days of beatboxing, and why he continued to persevere even though he wasn't good at the beginning. We discuss the moment he realized he needed to do beatbox, why he turned beatboxing into a serious thing, how he discovered dubstep through beatboxing, and where he got his name from. Digging deeper, his mindset is explored as we unwrap how he thinks about challenges, accepting failure to use it for growth, "randomness", the positives and negatives of his obsessive nature, and the powerful self belief he has for himself. We also talk about hitting 1 million views at 17 years old, connecting the EDM world with beatbox world, his journey with learning to view himself as an artist. And last but not least, we have multiple laugh attacks (including from Azel's loathing of Facebook) and nerd out on our favourite tracks from 2010 era of dubstep. Expect Azel/Giuseppe to return in the near future for multiple follow up episodes where we'll go deeper into the psychology of success, our perspectives on the world, our systematic approaches β€” and a lot more. Thank you for watching and listening! Subscribe if you're new and committed to self improvement, and press that like button if you got value from this episode of the podcast.

In today's long form, positivity based interview, we're interviewing one of dubstep & riddim's greatest up and coming DJ's, uSAYbFLOW. uSAYbFLOW (@DJuSAYbFLOW) is a Toronto based DJ and producer with a focus on dubstep and riddim. He's an incredibly kind, compassionate, and gentle souls who happens to make some of the most aggressive, intense mixes in dubstep and riddim that I've ever heard. He's known for his crazy "quad drop" videos, as well as his mix series "Headbangers Only" where he absolutely destroys people with his insanely heavy, brutal mixing style for over and hour. Daniel Eusebio is one of the most genuine humans I've ever had the pleasure of being friends with and I'm amped to bring you this long form conversation today around his journey in life and music. We talk about a ton in this interview including: - The process of how to make incredible quad drops (and what he's doing to make them even better) - How he handles disrespect - Why he's such a good human being - How he balances production, DJ'ing and a job - Who inspires him most in both production and mixing/DJ'ing - What it's like to become friends with his inspirations - His thoughts on talent vs. skill - Our shared teenage passion of YouTube Gaming/trickshotting - Gathering attention - Growth hacking social media - The origins of his love of music, raving, DJ'ing, - What he's sacrificed to pursue his goals - and a ton more Thank you for listening.
Young entrepreneur interviews anyone? I'm excited to bring you the first interview I've done with none other than one of my best friends - fellow aspiring entrepreneur and strategic thinker - Zack Platt. In this self improvement interview, we'll be talking about choosing growth from death when his Mom passed away, creating opportunities from all circumstances, taking responsibility for his actions, growing from past mistakes, applying forgiveness and acceptance to the relationships in his life, the importance of a growth mindset, how to make school worth the investment, how competitive we are, why we have high quality conversations and ton more.
Welcome to another episode of the Journal. In this episode, I talk about: balancing multiple projects at once, prioritization, summer: the great exposer of commitment, the ideal internal states for high output, feedback loops for speed learning, moustaches, why I'm making gains on finger muscles, the best solution for every "problem", sexual energy, avoiding copyright, self respect, the doubt that I frequently experience around the content I make, a pattern of insecurity around knowing enough, making money on the internet, my first freelance video editing job, the one thing that will get me out of my situation and into what I want, what was wrong in my notion team setup and what I'm doing instead and why I'm not giving any time or attention to girls right now. I hope this was entertaining and educational, I'm really hoping these are coming out well. If you found this valuable, please like the video and subscribe to not miss any more videos on this self improvement channel :) Question of the day: what are your top 3 priorities right now? The Journal is a series to document lessons I'm learning through my recent experiences in my self improvement journey. Expect authenticity, vulnerability and honest perspective as I share what's happening in my world recently.
In this episode of The Journal, I'll be covering speaking my truth, setting myself free by posting what I feel is holding me back, how I'm planning on indirectly monetizing, bringing my audience so much value for free that they never have to buy a thing, how the varied parts of my funnel are all aligned, my first thoughts on wordpress and elementor, breaking perfection, 4 strategies for how to type faster, heavy metal poisoning, breaking perfection, quality in, quality out (repeat), why life isn't that short, my secret to finding doubles, placing myself in situations to experience "rejection", getting exposure to no's, embracing being misunderstood by the world, black lives matter, my struggles with using my own words for BLM, the 3 things that the world needs in order to transcend racism, where white privilege goes too far and a lot more. I know I rambled a fair amount in this, but I'm still learning this format. Hope it came out well. Much love all. [Episode 2 of the Journal, recorded on June 14th, 2020] P.S. When I mention Black Lives Matter in this episode, I'm talking about the movement. I support the movement behind equality, but not the organization.
Welcome to The Journal. This is the first episode of a new series where I talk about recent experiences and shed light on what you can learn from my journey. The Journal is a new series that will be replacing what was formerly known as Reflections - a series that lasted a wicked 81 episodes. But it's time was coming and I decided it was time to air a new series that is similar in many ways, and also very different. You'll notice there's no more dividers of the classic reflections based questions. I'll just be flowing through all the topics I have that I want to talk about on the agenda - while still sharing what's working, what's not, what I'm learning, and how I'm growing. It's a lot more natural and fun for you and I - just like a conversation should be. Because it's topic based, you'll find timestamps available to you to easily navigate the general topics you're looking for. As time goes on, this series will morph and change as I see fit - but you best believe it'll be spent by talking to you beautiful people in new ways but always with the core principles - staying vulnerable, sharing my truths and lessons, and making our time spent together useful. In this episode, we'll be discussing a whole host of topics including accountability, natural flow, reducing my fear of of SEO, creating a community of giving without expectation, natural evolution, my first week studying with Dr. Sue Morter, clearing debts, why you're not motivated and what you can do to fix it fast (hint: it's related to your goals or lack thereof), the trap of being attached to things going the way you "think" they should go, why the more I look at society the less I want to participate (and what the my alternative is), shooting my shot, what it was like to edit the Azel and Snails collab, why I'll be famous if I decide it's ideal for me, my first thoughts on Black Lives Matter, the first plan for my upcoming music spotify playlist, looking deeper, shooting for the moon, doing what I've been putting off, why I stopped Reflections and more. Please be patient with me as I figure out the new format - it takes me a few episodes to get the hang of it. If you found value in this, please like, comment and subscribe to support the channel and let the algorithm know to share it with other people too. Without further ado, here's the pilot in the new solo podcast series. :)
And that's a wrap. If you ever watched this series for even a couple of minutes - thank you. It's been a special series near and dear to me, but it was time to evolve this into something else. You'll see what it becomes soon. In the mean time, in this episode I have no idea it's going to be the last episode of Reflections so it's business as usual. I talk about tapping into energy fields of parallel universes to create master plans, prioritizing correctly during your magic time, being too hard on myself, questioning everything in my life (including this series), imposter syndrome, why I considered discontinuing meaningful content, why I left apple music for spotify (and why I'm obsessed with spotify), why asking for help is hard but important, going low key insane from my environment, why I'm motivated to stop eating garbage food, the one thing I'm missing the most right now (momentum), why people look backwards, overcoming copyright challenges in music content, checking the box for others' approval vs. going all in for me, struggling with compassion for the world, my obsession with stroke icons, making Notion icons simple, broke vs. poor, approval vs. no disapproval and mixing house. I was having a challenging time with this episode but shortly after a lot changed. I was right, momentum is just what I needed. Taking the next step even when it's uncomfortable is truly a magic ingredient. Love you all. Be well. In the 2nd last episode of Reflections, I talk about a lot - and it ended up being one of the best Reflections I've ever recorded. I loved how this came out and hope you get a ton of gold from this! Reflections is a series where I reflect on the last couple of weeks and extract as many lessons, perspectives, tactics and share them with you. In this episode, I talk about a ton of topics including how I track ideas, why I track ideas, being compassionate in the face of darkness, my definition of a real friend, why being triggered is a good thing, why you should focus on mastering the basics if you want mastery, one of the biggest problems with the world, Sean Combs' amazing meditation on audible, why the principle of kaizen allows you to make incredible long term progress on a goal with only 15 to 30 minutes of action per day, overthinking entrepreneurship, doubt in my abilities, my monetization plan, using momentum to feel like myself, using music to let a vlog edit itself and why I started to retrain myself to type with all 10 fingers. If you found value in this, please like, comment and subscribe so we can continue our evolutions together :) Much love guys ❀
Reflections is a series where I share the experiences I'm going through, the lessons I'm learning, the challenges I'm experiencing, and the experiments I'm conducting - so you can learn from my journey and experiment with it in your own. In this episode, I'll be talking about the importance of staying unfiltered and staying real to your truths, the blessing of being triggered, using quarantine to what I've put off in the past, closing open loops to feel amazing, finally learning to mix, the benefits of having direct mentorship (ty Bry/Tony ily guys), my obsession with mixing, validating content theses, muting everyone on instagram, why I deep cleaned my room, how I made cleaning more exciting, my dislike of offending people, what I'm procrastination on the most, my ideal work to socializing ratio, the 2 options for growth when someone doesn't like your work & last but not least... turning 24 years old (one step closer to yoda, let's go). Much love people :)
In this episode of reflections, I talk about how I unlocked more creative freedom, the opportunity that optimistic content creators have right now (with the increased demand for positivity content during dark times), the type of people that I require in my "5 best friends" (aka who I associate with most), working over "chilling", why I'm disappointed and discouraged at how most people are spending their quarantine, building systems in Notion by being a vessel for source, what Notion tutorials need more and less of, why I'm motivated to clean all areas of my life right now, how I got a replacement iPhone for free, and my overarching focus on simplicity and essentialism in every area of my life. If you actually listen/watch this, I appreciate you. :) Message me on twitter @joshmoxey if you had any big lessons from this. Subscribe to the podcast if you feel inspired to. Rate the podcast if you want to support me. Thank you. ✌
Reflections is a series where I reflect on the past couple of weeks and I share what I'm learning & how I'm growing. In this episode of Reflections, it's my first week of quarantine and I'm shirtless. So there's that. I talk about embracing imperfection (s/o webcam for the video), my first thoughts on COVID-19 and how much of an opportunity lockdown/quarantine is if used correctly, turning challenge into opportunity, fear - the virus that's bigger than COVID-19, how my phone ate the dust & what I did to recover it, adaptation, how the universe helped me detach from my vlogs, people getting value from my content, having an impact through music content, humility in reviews/reactions, how to go to bed early, the type of people I want to be a part of my community (do you fit in here?), a ton of lessons I learned from the DPMO Vol 3 reaction and review video, why COVID-19 is forcing me to make entrepreneurship work, being judgmental vs. gentle towards yourself, essentialism, simplicity and more. Thanks for watching and listening beautiful people :)
Reflections is a series where I reflect and the past couple weeks and share the lessons I'm learning, the challenges I'm going through, how I'm growing and in the process I give you mindsets, strategies, experiments and tactics you can apply in your own life. In today's episode, we're going to cover why it's a good idea to be your authentic self, how it leads to finding your tribe, finding those who are looking for you, giving away services for free to make money, the struggle that Tim Ferriss and I both share in our journey, speed over perfection, the powerful combination of creativity and experimentation, why it's okay if you're not an entrepreneur, and what you might want to do instead. And a ton more, because it's Reflections. Thanks for watching and listening. :)
