Description

Narrative Psychology is a field in psychology that investigates the value of stories and storytelling in giving meaning to individuals’ experiences—shaping their memory of past events, their understanding of the present, and their projections of future events—and in defining themselves and their lives.

As we go through life, we forget sometimes that our stories are real to our perception. We fall victim to being gaslit by others, or even ourselves into thinking that we need to downplay our own personal experiences.

This podcast will be deep diving into those experiences.

The APA definition of Narrative Psychology is a field in psychology that investigates the value of stories and storytelling in giving meaning to individuals’ experiences—shaping their memory of past events, their understanding of the present, and their projections of future events—and in defining themselves and their lives. As we go through life, we forget sometimes that our stories are real to our perception. We fall victim to being gaslit by others, or even ourselves into thinking that we need to downplay our own personal experiences. This podcast will be deep diving into those experiences that we’ve been through in our lives, and how they got us to where we are today. I came up with this podcast upon reflection of many trials and set backs in my own personal life, and how I’ve managed to overcome those setbacks through therapy and self work. The bottom line is that it’s important for you all to know that your story does matter, and that you are not alone. I will be having guests joining me each week to discuss personal set of trials, setbacks, and come ups through their perception. PLEASE BE ADVISED: Some of the topics may include discussions that can be triggering to some. There may content surrounding Abuse Death Sex Sexual violence Violence Self-harm Suicide Discrimination of any kind eating disorders Talk of dysphoria, body image and appearance
