In today’s episode, Dr. Ritchey and I discuss weightlifting, muscle building, and the misconceptions that often surround them. Here are my top three takeaways from our conversation:  We debunk the myth that weight training can turn fat into muscle. Dr. Shannon explains that while you can build muscle and lose fat at the same time, they don’t convert into each other. Fat loss comes from diet, while muscle gain requires strength training and sufficient protein. This is key for achieving a "toned" look!  We talk about how many women fear becoming "bulky" from weightlifting. Dr. Shannon emphasizes that building muscle is crucial for women, especially as they age, as it supports healthy body composition and hormone regulation, including insulin sensitivity. Strength training can reduce the risk of conditions like gestational diabetes and improve overall health.  If you're a soon-to-be mom or know someone who is, this part of the episode is a must-listen! Dr. Shannon shares her insights on the benefits of strength training during pregnancy. Contrary to popular belief, lifting weights while pregnant can be incredibly beneficial, helping to maintain muscle mass and improve recovery postpartum. She provides practical advice on how to safely strength train, emphasizing the importance of exercise selection and stability. In today’s episode, Whitney, Brandon, and I explore the hidden dangers of synthetic dyes and their impact on health—especially in children. Here are three key insights every parent and health-conscious individual should know:  Did you know synthetic dyes in processed foods can impact children's health? Whitney and Brandon share how their son's behavioral struggles improved after eliminating them. Research shows these dyes can trigger hyperactivity, irritability, and aggression—an important reminder for parents to be mindful of ingredients!  We discuss the lack of public knowledge surrounding synthetic dyes and their potential health risks. The Cawoods emphasize the importance of educating ourselves and others about the ingredients in our food. They encourage listeners to read labels and advocate for change at the local level, especially in schools.  We then dive into the differences in food regulations between the U.S. and other countries, particularly in Europe, where synthetic dyes are heavily regulated or banned. Whitney and Brandon discuss how companies often prioritize profit over health, using cheaper synthetic dyes instead of natural alternatives. This is a crucial moment for us as consumers to vote with our dollars and support brands that prioritize our health.  I encourage you all to listen to this episode and reflect on the food choices we make for ourselves and our families. Bio: After discovering their child’s sensitivity to synthetic dyes, Brandon and Whitney Cawood, parents-turned-filmmakers, embarked on a journey to uncover the hidden impacts of these additives. In today’s episode, Rob and I discuss the connections between soil health and our personal health. Here are three key takeaways that I think you'll find interesting:  Did you know the health of our soil directly impacts our health? Rob explains how microorganisms in healthy soil are vital for nutrient exchange with plants. Prioritizing quantity in agriculture has reduced nutrient density in our food, but regenerative practices can restore its nutritional value.  Glyphosate, a widely used herbicide, is not just harmful to the environment; it also poses risks to our health. Rob discusses how glyphosate disrupts the soil microbiome, which in turn affects plant health and ultimately our gut health. With rising concerns about gut-related issues and chronic diseases, it's crucial to be aware of what we’re consuming. Choosing organic and non-GMO foods can help reduce our exposure to harmful chemicals like glyphosate.  Rob highlights the concept of "forest bathing," which involves immersing ourselves in natural environments to reap mental and physical health benefits. Studies show that just a couple of hours in nature can boost our immune system and improve our overall well-being. In a world where many of us spend over 90% of our time indoors, reconnecting with nature is more important than ever. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did! In today’s episode, Dr. Gray and I discuss all things related to eye health that I think everyone should hear. Here are my top three takeaways from our conversation:  Dr. Gray highlights that eye health is more than prescriptions, emphasizing a holistic approach with proper nutrition and lifestyle choices. Key nutrients like vitamins A, C, E, and omega-3s combat oxidative stress and inflammation, helping prevent eye diseases. Our bodies are designed to thrive without over-reliance on medication!  With rising screen time, many parents worry about its impact on their kids. Dr. Gray explains that excessive screen use can lead to myopia but balancing it with outdoor activities helps. Studies show kids who spend more time outside have slower myopia progression. So, let’s encourage outdoor play and sunlight.  Regular eye exams are crucial, even without glasses. Dr. Gray shares a story of a young girl whose eye exam detected an invasive cancer early, highlighting the importance of routine exams to catch potential issues. Bio: Dr. Collin Gray was born and raised in Lehi Utah. He attended Lehi High school where he played for the state championship soccer team in 2010. After graduating high school, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Córdoba, Argentina. In today’s episode, Dr. Mayer and I discuss a topic that many parents are curious about but often feel overwhelmed by: vaccines. Here are my top three takeaways from our conversation: Did you know that babies are born with their mother's immune system? Dr. Mayer explains how the innate immune system develops and adapts over time, especially through breastfeeding and exposure to the environment. This foundational knowledge is crucial for parents to understand how to support their child's health from the very beginning.  One of the most important points we discuss is the significance of informed consent when it comes to vaccinations. Dr. Mayer emphasizes that every child is unique, and the standard vaccine schedule may not be suitable for everyone. Parents should feel empowered to ask questions and do their research to assess their child's immunity before making vaccination decisions.  We touch on the challenges parents face when seeking medical advice about vaccines. Many pediatricians may not have the time or resources to provide personalized guidance, which can leave parents feeling lost. Dr. Mayer has created a national provider list to help parents find healthcare professionals who support informed consent and medical freedom. This resource can be a game-changer for families looking for guidance that aligns with their values. Bio: Dr. Ashley Mayer, NMD, is a practicing physician, taking care of families for the past 12 years. In 2014, she founded Dr. Green Mom®, a now global brand passionate about foundational healthcare for children. As a leader in the field of Vaccine Safety and Awareness education, Dr. Mayer teaches parents how to not only recognize and manage the current risk/benefit of their child’s vaccine schedule, but also how to support the child’s Neurological and Immune Systems through the vaccination process. VaccineStrategy.com launched in 2019, empowering parents to make informed vaccine decisions because the current vaccine schedule is not a one-size-fits-all for our children. Dr. Mayer has diligently kept up with a National Medical Freedom Healthcare Provider List for parents needing access to providers who believe in Medical Freedom and Informed Consent. Dr. Mayer’s true passion lies in formulating safe, natural products for Mothers, Infants, and Children. Your child’s healthcare begins in the womb, so mamas need to take care of themselves, too! In today’s episode, Simon and I discuss health biomarkers and their significance in optimizing our health span. Here are three key takeaways that you won't want to miss:  Understanding Biomarkers: Simon explains that biomarkers are measurable health indicators that can predict chronic disease risks, like cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Monitoring them early allows proactive steps to improve health and prevent serious issues, as many chronic diseases develop silently over time.  The Importance of Blood Pressure: One of the most accessible biomarkers is blood pressure. Simon emphasizes that nearly half of the population has suboptimal blood pressure levels, which can significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Regularly monitoring your blood pressure at home can empower you to take control of your health and make necessary lifestyle changes.  Dietary Impact on Metabolic Health: We also discuss the critical role of diet in managing biomarkers like ApoB and insulin levels. Simon highlights that saturated fats can negatively impact our lipid profiles, while polyunsaturated fats can help improve them. He encourages listeners to adopt a Mediterranean-style diet, which is rich in healthy fats and has been shown to support heart health. In today’s episode, Dr. Michelle and I discuss her new book, "Living Well with Dr. Michelle," and explore some interesting concepts that can help us all improve our health. Here are three key takeaways that I think you’ll find helpful:  Dr. Michelle's CellWell model highlights that health starts with our cells. It focuses on four key needs: supplies (nutrients, water, air), support (environment and lifestyle), security (defense against harm), and signals (cell communication). This model simplifies health, emphasizing the importance of meeting our cells' needs for better well-being.  Dr. Michelle connects our health to the changing seasons, explaining that our bodies have different needs at different times. Through her seasonal assessment, you can identify what your body requires, such as using seasonal foods and practices to address symptoms like water retention or coldness in winter. This approach encourages adapting health strategies based on what your body needs. Dr. Michelle advocates for a holistic approach, viewing the body as a whole rather than focusing solely on symptoms. Sharing her journey, she highlights the influence of environment, nutrition, and lifestyle on health, encouraging natural solutions and addressing root causes before turning to medications or invasive treatments. In today’s episode, Dr. Tyna and I discuss GLP-1 peptides, their benefits, and the misconceptions surrounding them. Here are my key takeaways that I believe everyone should consider:  Personalized Dosing is Key: Dr. Tyna emphasizes the importance of individualized dosing for GLP-1 peptides, noting that a one-size-fits-all approach is ineffective. Factors like weight, metabolic health, age, and lifestyle determine the appropriate dosage, helping to mitigate side effects and enhance therapeutic benefits. It’s a reminder that healthcare should always be tailored to the individual!  The Broader Benefits Beyond Weight Loss: While GLP-1s are known for weight loss, Dr. Tyna highlights their potential in areas like neuroinflammation, cardiovascular health, and autoimmune conditions. This shift in focus encourages us to consider the holistic benefits of these peptides for overall health and wellness.  I encourage everyone to listen to this episode for a deeper understanding of GLP-1 peptides and their potential impact on health. Dr. Tyna’s insights are invaluable, and I believe they can help many navigate their health journeys more effectively. In today’s episode, David and I discuss pesticides, phthalates, and the impact of chemical toxins on our health, especially for our children and more. Even though DDT was banned decades ago, it’s still found in some foods like apples and strawberries. David explains that newer pesticides, like glyphosate (Roundup), are now widespread in our food supply and pose serious health risks. He highlights the importance of choosing organic options to reduce exposure to these chemicals. Phthalates, common in cosmetics and personal care products, can disrupt the endocrine system. David reveals how they may impact fertility and children’s cognitive development, stressing the need for consumers to check labels closely. Terms like “made without phthalates” can be misleading; look for “phthalate-free” instead. One of the most inspiring messages from David is that we, as consumers, have the power to drive change. By voting with our dollars and choosing organic and safer products, we can influence the market and encourage companies to prioritize our health.  This episode is filled with great information that can help us all make more informed choices for our families and ourselves. Tune in now to learn more! Bio: In order to help readers see the connection between their shopping choices and their power to influence communities, David also reports from the frontlines of global warming and politics as he shares what is happening in Cancer Alley, Louisiana, Ground Zero for climate change, environmental justice, anti plastic and antitoxic movements. In addition, never-before-seen test results are revealed for major brands like Johnsons & Johnsons, Kellogg, Tide, and Clairol, and General Mills that identify exactly which products contain dangerous ingredients. David shares the connection between beauty products, food items, and myriad consumer products as well as environmental exposures and how they can have a profound impact on babies and children’s development, adult reproductive health, cancer, gender identity, and IQ, just to name a few of the most pressing health issues parents face. David’s mission is to empower consumers with knowledge to make safer choices. I love the topics you touch on, but there is something going on with your audio. In multiple episodes, the guests' words fade out at the end of each sentences which is frustrating because we can't get the focus of their point. I'm not sure you were aware of this issue, so I hope this is helpful.

Hi. Thanks for the post! Cannabinoid products didn't really inspire much confidence in me, but just the best CBD that I found - https://blessedcbd.co.uk did it! I've been having problems with fatigue and insomnia, but the capsules and gummies have worked out great! I love the taste and effectiveness of them. So kudos!
