Description
Each week, Jamie and Justina — two funny, fierce, and almost scarily honest humans who love animals, could eat fruit all day — seriously they love fruit, and can't stop telling it as it is — compare what we're all being told about an important topic with ... the actual truth. It's refreshing! And empowering. And surprisingly fun? Just So You Know is a PETA production. Stay tuned for season 2!

As Season 1 of Just So You Know comes to a close, Jamie and Justina take a profound spiritual journey with Sharon Gannon — founder of Jivamukti Yoga — who knows a thing or two about yoga, veganism, and how to have compassion for yourself and for people you don’t see eye to eye with. But first, Jamie tells the story of a very different journey … that almost ended in a disaster at the airport.
Jamie and Justina sit down with vegan model and sports broadcaster Raine Michaels to get the inside scoop on her favorite vegan clothing brands, learn her fashion secrets, and pick up a few tips about cruelty-free skin care. Then they plan an improbable and (frankly) extremely ill-advised heist.
It’s the skincare episode! Jamie and Justina talk about absurd beauty trends, share personal stories that are not at all embarrassing, and chat with the fabulous beauty creator @BilintinaMakeup about her cruelty-free skincare routine and why she’s never looked back after giving up lucrative contracts with makeup brands that use animals.
This week, Jamie and Justina get real about the importance of finding balance in order to be successful as an activist and a person. And to help them do it, they’re bringing on the brilliant Shaka Smith, a wellness expert, lawyer, actor, and vegan influencer who has a wealth of wise and practical advice about how to stay grounded, think about the long term, and develop a practice in your life that leads to mental well-being.
You can follow Shaka Smith on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/shakastrong.
This week Jamie and Justina check in to see what’s going on with the orcas at SeaWorld and, well … it’s a bit of a horror show. They’re joined by Jayde and Nia — the brilliant minds behind LA’s Sugar Taco — who share their stories about baring it all in a powerful protest to raise awareness about SeaWorld’s treatment of orcas, like Corky, who’s been held captive in abysmal conditions for decades.

Superstar personal trainer Ashley King joins the podcast to pump everyone up (with information) about vegan fitness. This one’s packed full of vital information about how to stay fit and healthy on a vegan diet, the truth behind the myth about “man boobs,” and, most importantly, a deeply embarrassing personal story from Jamie.

Just So You Know is on vacation this week, but Jamie has a special message about how to keep the animals in your life safe and happy this long weekend while you cook some vegan barbecue with friends and family. Enjoy this mini episode, and as always, WE'LL BE BACK. (Next week, specifically.) Happy Fourth!
Are the expectations of “masculinity” holding men back from embracing a vegan lifestyle? If so, Dom Thompson’s truly inspiring journey from growing up poor on Chicago’s west side to being “the only plant-eating dude” in prison to life as an athlete, entrepreneur, and activist proves that there’s a better way. This week, Jamie and Justina sit down with Dom for a powerful conversation about veganism and masculinity.
Jamie and Justina chat with animal advocate, author, and vegan mom extraordinaire Ashley Renne about her experience raising vegan kids, common misconceptions about vegan parents, and how to communicate with a partner or co-parent who’s not vegan. Also, what foods can you make that vegan kids will love? Ashley has the answers!
Jamie and Justina are treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the breakup of the “Tiger King” empire, along with some uplifting and inspiring stories about animals who are thriving after being rescued from roadside zoos. 🐯Which is all a much-needed shot in the arm after Jamie’s extremely awkward story about protesting an organization where a close friend works! 😬
This week, Jamie and Justina have PETA’s senior VP Lisa Lange on the show for an incredibly informative and thought-provoking discussion about animals in shelters, what to do about animal overpopulation, and the inconvenient truth about so-called “No-Kill” shelters.
It’s Freaky Friday on Just So You Know this week because Justina’s in the driver’s seat to talk about the history of Disney movies with pro-animal messages. Is there going to be a lot of singing? Yes. Is this one going to go hilariously off the rails? You bet it is.
Jamie and Justina tackle the difficult topic of animal “rescues” that are really just hoarding operations in an illuminating conversation with PETA Vice President Dan Paden, who helped expose the notorious “Isaiah 11 Ministry” hoarding operation.
When Sam McGraw met Ted, a rescue dog who had been used for cosmetics experiments, it changed the course of her life and career. This week, Sam joins Jamie and Justina to share her extensive knowledge of cruelty-free cosmetics, talk about the best cruelty-free products for moms-to-be, and introduce them to Ted, who (as it turns out) is one amazing beagle.

An inspirational response to everyone who says that it’s too expensive to be vegan. Jamie and Justina walk through some surprising facts about why food costs what it does, and then they have a powerful conversation with a vegan activist about growing up on food stamps, being vegan and low-income, and why it upsets her when people say veganism is privileged.
More and more circuses have given up on animal acts, but Shrine circuses are still cynically taking advantage of children’s natural love of animals to exploit them for fundraisers. This week, Jamie and Justina get into exactly what that means for the animals involved, and (just so you know), it’s not great! Also, Jamie can juggle. Who knew?
Why do high schools have animal dissection when medical schools don’t? Why is dissection still around even though there are better alternatives? And what happens when you get locked out of your apartment in just your bathrobe? The answer to two of these questions is “money.” The third one’s a bit more complicated.
You’ll never believe what the original working name for “vegan” was. Plus, which ancient Egyptian Pharaoh had a major soft spot for animals? Was the philosopher Plato vegan-curious? And why did Roman gladiators eat a mostly vegetarian diet? This week, it’s Jamie and Justina’s Excellent Adventure into vegan history!
The notorious Miami Seaquarium is having its lease terminated by the county. Jamie, Justina, and a special guest get into how it all went down and discuss the shocking behind-the-scenes of what life is like for marine mammals in parks like SeaWorld. Then Jamie tries to make Justina cry (spoiler: she crushes it).
They spell your name wrong on the cup. They don’t serve
anything you can eat for breakfast. And then they charge you extra for vegan milk! Jamie and Justina get into exactly what’s going on with Starbucks’s outrageous vegan upcharge, and then they talk to the incredible Chef Babette
Davis, who glued her hand to a Starbucks counter as a protest.
