Season 4 Episode 01 | 401Special Guest: Jae CamiloWebsite/Information: SPOTIFY MUSIC Episode Description:From girl groups to solo freedom, Jae Camilo opens up about saying no to industry molds, claiming her voice in Bachata, and creating music with intent. From childhood memories of singing at family gatherings to auditioning for Making the Band, Jae walks us through a journey of reinvention and reclaiming space as a woman in a male-dominated genre. We discuss girl groups, group dynamics, the gritty realities of demo deals/music industry, and the cost of chasing longevity in the music industry. Jae shares why she walked away from acting and modeling to pursue music full-time and how her mother became a key connector, helping her work with top-tier producers. We also talk about singles marketing strategy and the unspoken rules of "taste freeze" in Latin culture. Plus, she unpacks the challenges of being told what to sing by men (or the “males” as referred to in the episode) and why her music never bashes men, but only tells the truth. Expect candid convos about side chick discourse, subliminal messages in Bachata, and what it means to really own your voice in an evolving genre. Thanks for checking out Just Words Nobody Cares_________TABLE OF CONTENTS________00:00 Show Intro00:03:36 Guest Introduction00:04:14 Jae Camilo00:05:19 Shoutout to Karina00:05:42 Admitting to taste freeze00:08:27 Bachata evolving00:10:05 Jae's childhood interest in bachata00:11:03 Taking notice that bachata was male driven00:11:29 Starting career in the English Market00:12:36 Home influence00:13:39 Identifying the possibilities in the Spanish market00:14:00 Girl group experience00:14:50 Leaving Modeling and Acting for Music00:15:21 Leaving the group coming back to NYC00:15:57 Mom Connecting the dots00:17:05 Breaking the status quo00:18:41 Making the Band (Danity Kane) audition / Diddy story00:20:08 Declining MTB00:21:30 Explaining demo deals00:22:49 Realities of forming a girl group00:24:54 Thinking about longevity00:27:35 Releasing monthly Single's marketing strategy00:30:03 Cost of the music00:31:16 One hit wonder00:33:02 Label treatment of artist00:34:26 Ron's take on valuing creativity00:35:59 Looking for community as an artist00:37:50 Finding community internationally00:39:55 Blaming the culture for taste freeze00:41:13 Elvis Crespo00:41:59 Jae playing her own music at family gatherings00:43:11 The Great Put down00:43:40 Positive reinforcement from Family00:45:20 The music speaks for itself - Ramz00:46:48 Creating with intent00:49:44 I sing Sing00:50:43 Finding Jae Camilo00:53:15 Evolving the culture to learn the business00:53:38 Speaking truth to power00:56:08 Being receptive to the evolution of the music00:56:40 Bachata fitting in every where01:00:06 Men telling Jae what to sing about01:03:24 Women having more presence in the industry01:04:25 Ron owning up to his "male flaws"01:05:33 Side chick song01:07:31 "my music never bashes men"01:10:08 Bachata "theme" suggestion by the team01:10:51 Sigan hablando de "side chicks"01:12:31 Projects for the future01:13:35 Parental Censorship01:14:04 Subliminal messages in bachata01:15:10 Learning from the networking events01:15:59 Developing a Doc01:17:45 Early work that leaked01:18:57 Feeling more accepted to experiment on different projects01:20:49 New Song - "ya no puedo mas"01:22:54 Creative spurts01:23:28 Always save the work01:24:56 Ramz sharing his lyrics01:26:10 Jae's creative process01:30:26 LCFW - Format explanationRecord date: 02.22.25 LINK IN BIO ON MOST PODCAST APPS STREAM VIDEO ON @spotify | @youtube Guest Social | IG https://www.instagram.com/jaecamilo/Host Social | IG @ron.kain | @haydee.justwords | @dre.drizzo | @ramzmcfly

Special Guest: Jaromir “J” François
Website/Information: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/th...
Episode Description:
This episode felt like hanging out with family, creator Jaromir 'J' François author of works such as “My Brother, Teddy” and “Napoleon from the Machine”, J brings his unique perspective and rich storytelling to the forefront.
Straight from our hood Washington Heights, NYC, sharing some of the overall life setbacks when COVID-19 hit, it paradoxically provided the break J needed. During this time, “My Brother, Teddy” came to life, giving him a new high and a fresh question: what's next? Creating his own lane and reaching out to network executives on his premium free trial LinkedIn he was called in to pitch “The Alien Heroes” to top television producers from nickelodeon, gaining valuable insights despite initial rejections.
Rather than being discouraged and shelving the project, J rediscovered his storyboards and decided to pivot to creating another comic book. Teaming up with the talented artist Tony 'Ghoulsroom' Tirado, he brought his characters to life. This marked the beginning of a new journey.
Join us for an inspiring conversation as Jaromir 'J' François discusses his creative process, the highs and lows of his career, and the resilience it takes to bring one's vision to life.

Website/Information:
Episode Description:
In this heartfelt and enlightening episode of Just Words Nobody Cares, we are joined by a remarkable guest, Devon Chisholm. A seasoned firefighter with a passion for service and an unwavering commitment to his community, Devon opens up about a pivotal moment in his life - the decision to come out and introduce his soon to be husband to his fellow firefighters at his wedding.
Devon shares his candid thoughts on why he grappled with this decision, delving into the complex emotions he faced while navigating his identity in a profession that values camaraderie and teamwork above all else but is heavily dominated by “traditional” societal norms. He discusses his initial fears of being defined solely by his sexual preference, rather than by his dedication and on-the-field performance.
As we listen to Devon's narrative, we're taken on a journey through his path of self-discovery. From his formative years, where he first decided to pursue firefighting, to the challenges he encountered as a probie (rookie fire fighter) and proving his mettle in a traditionally white “straight male-dominated field.
With a compelling mix of anecdotes and insights, Devon recounts the highs and lows of his professional development. He unveils the moments of doubt that tested his resolve, and the triumphant experiences that reaffirmed his purpose. Through it all, we gain a deep understanding of how embracing his identity strengthened his resolve and elevated his contributions as a firefighter.
Join us as we delve into Devon's powerful story - a story of courage, authenticity, and unwavering determination. As we hear about his wedding day, a pivotal moment where he chose to stand proudly in his truth, we're reminded that sometimes the most profound acts of bravery occur not amidst the flames, but within the depths of our own hearts.
We recorded this episode in late June during “Pride Month” a day before Devon was taking his Lieutenants exam! Let’s celebrate Devon Chisholm's remarkable journey on and off the work force and explore the profound importance of authenticity in the face of adversity.
