Dear Weatherfords: I wonder if either of you has ever heard of the 'slow worm'. In the fine tradition of faunal nomenclature, it is not a worm, or even a snake, but a legless reptile native to the British Iles. its interesting defensive maneuver is to clench up all of its muscles to become rigid, like a stick. I'd love to learn much more about it!

Say, Mr. & Mrs. Weatherford! Love the show. it's always fascinating, and my sieve-brain means that I'll forget plenty of details quickly, so it's definitely fun to re-listen. for interesting animals, I wonder about one we all make contact to, but I know next to nothing about: the common housefly.

Just The Zoo Of Us is an informative animal podcast with heart and a sense of humor. This fun, sweet, charming, special, endearing podcast about animals is educational and entertaining. It's hosted by animal enthusiasts Ellen and Christian Weatherford, a married (I think younger millennial or possibly elder gen Z) couple with a young family. They keep their animal discussions very work- and kid-friendly without making it childish or condescending. It's suitable and engaging for adults and kids. As a side note, I work with animals outside and in public spaces, so I listen to podcasts without headphones in while I'm outside. (So I can still hear my surroundings for safety purposes.) As much as more "grown up" podcasts can be fun, sometimes it's a little embarrassing to have a stream of obscenities or mature themes come pouring out of my phone. This podcast is one that I can and have listened to nearly everywhere without ever blushing of embarrassment. Episodes typically alternate between
