Join  "Moe" from the Deep Dark Truth podcast to talk about Tanner Barton and the strange case of Joann Matouk Romain. Police decided she killed hersaelf before her body was ever found. Her case has more twists and turns than a tornado. Joann vanished under strange circumstances from her church in Grosse Point Farms,MI on the night of Jan. 12,2010. Maria vanished from her school in Hinesville,GA on May 20th 2019. She had planned for her boyfriend to pick her up after school but she was no where to be found when he arrived to get her.  She was 17. On Dec.4 she would have turned 18. If she had run away from the less than ideal home situation she was in at 18 she'd be free but never surfaced. Her grandmotheVal Cooday and   and mother Yemisi Smith  both in Alaska will join me to talk about Maria and her disappearence. Maria is part Tlingit Indian from Alaska. She is also part Nigerian. She has dark hair and eyes. Maria is 5'4" 130lbs. She is described by her grandma Val as being vulnerable and not worldly.

Dannette Latonia Millbrook and Jeannette Latrice Millbrook disappeared from the Pump And Shop gas station in their Augusta,GA neighborhood on March 18,1990. They were just 15 years old at the time. The case was inexplicably closed in 1990 but reopened in 2013. Oxygen recently ran an documentary about thne girls case. In it a man named possible suspects he only knew by street names as he was only 12 at the time. Police did not take him seriously. They claimed it was another case he was remembering. Little Miss Panasoffkee as she was called was strangled with a man's belt and left under a bridge in Lake Panasoffkee in FL. She was between 17 and 24 years old.  Her teeth indicate she grew up in a small Greek village. She had a surgical procedure on her ankle to stablize it called Watson Jones. Her case was profiled on Unsolved Mysteries in 1992. The did ang regression on her which at the time was unheard of. In 2012 new drawings were made after a Greek crime show profiled her case. Drawings of her clothing were also released at that time. It is believed that she had at least 2 children based on the phisical exam of her body. Brian vanished from a bar in Columbus,OH near OSU where he was a med srudent. He did not vanish intentionally as he had  planned a trip to Miami with his girlfriend shortly after. Deanna was 16 just days from 17 March 31,1995 when her body was found raped and strangled behind a senior housing complex about 1/8 of a mile from her Somerville,MA home. She had been killed the night before after her boyfriend left her to walk the rest of the way home. I am doing this show with the blessing of her mom Kathrine Cremin. Tina vanished from Skowhegan,ME after a fight with her ex boyfriend with whom she lived. They were both sadly IV drug users. Shedid not have a stable home. She couch surffed a lot. The ex says he last saw her on dark Rt. 150 at 2AM. Her mom Donna Carter will be joining me to talk about her daughter's case. Curtis Crosby went missing from Salt Lake City,UT Oct. 1,2014. He was 59 years old at the time. He had moved to Utah as an evacuee after Hurrican Katrina. He became very invlved in his new community. He had an apartment but was found squatting in an abandoned building 5 blocks away. WHY? It's been speculated that he had dementia. Rosie was abducted Aug. 13,1995 from her bedroom in Salt Lake City,UT. She was just 6 years old. Earlier in the day a man carried her back to the apartment from the complex playground saying she was hurt. She was not. Her little body was found in the river behind the complex she lived in. Her mother Lewine will join me to talk about Rosie's case and remember her little girl

Misty was 14 when she vanished after missing the city bus home from the Puyallup county fair on Sept. 17,1992. Misty has never been seen again Police have questioned her 18 year old friend Rhuben and his unnamed uncle in the case. Her clothes were later found at a popular fishing spot. DNA testing has been done on hair found thereon. No results have been made public. James Walker vanished from Bedford,VA on April 7, 2000. He was 57 years of age and was an unbelieveable 6'7" tall!  Friends claim they last saw him at Foodlion. On March 15,2014 xave as he was called had gone to the movies with his gram (my aunt). He had a little teenagetiff and stormed off down rt. 117 in  Paris,ME. He was hit and killed,He was just 16. The driver never stopped.  There is a suspect but not enough evidence. Christopher Douthat vanished from Vinton,VA after cashing his pay check on Oct. 25,2013. He was 24 at the time. Katelin vanished after being dropped by her stepfather to take a flight back to AZ from VA where she was home visiting her little sisters new baby. She was due back to start cosmotology school on Monday. She sent some odd texts to her family and  to her girlfriend/fiance' back in AZ. Meanwhile her suitcase was found in a ditch on the banks of a river. It had a broken wheel. Missing from it were her clothes and diploma. On April 1,1988 8 year old April left her friends house and was abducted. 4 days later her suffocated and raped body was found in a ditch in Dekalb County. She was Taken from Ft. Wayne,IN. I don't know how far Dekalb county is from there.  2 years later her killer wrote "I kill April Tinsley" on a FT Wayne barn. Later he placed notes on little girls bikes and in a mailbox in the area. With the notes he left either a used condom with DNA matching the killer or naked pictures of his private parts. The last note was left in 2004.
