Kaedy spoke with founding Devo member Mark Mothersbaugh about their show this Saturday night with The B52’s. Mothersbaugh talks about how growing up in a working class town in Ohio got Devo eventual world attention.
I was 10 years into my radio career and I cringe a little when I hear myself sounding like I’m on helium, and very pumped up to be doing a live interview with a rock star at Lakewood! This chat with Vince is from July of 1993 when his first solo album was released after he left Motley Crue for a bit and went out on the road with Van Halen.
My old friend, Grammy Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, guitar legend, producer, and Gov’t Mule front man Warren Haynes has a new solo album out called “Million Voices Whisper.” We chat about his recording with some fabulously talented friends, the losses of his close friends Dickey Betts and Phil Lesh this year, and Soulshine MSG – a sold-out event on November 24, 2024 at Madison Square Garden that you can stream at www.soulshinemsg.com to raise money for hurricane victims in Florida and Warren’s homestate of North Carolina. xoxo
The Atlanta Rhythm Section is back at The Buckhead Theatre December 8th. I spoke with lead singer Rodney Justo nearly a decade ago about an upcoming performance and loved reminiscing with him about how fun it is to perform ARS music. xoxo

Bryan Adams (2008)

Bryan Adams talks charity work, photographing the queen, and bringing down The Wall in Berlin.
The Black Crowes were to play with Aerosmith this month before the tour was, sadly, canceled. Happily, The Black Crowes are still out on the road! I found this piece of interview I did with my 96 Rock cohort, Beth Kepple, from December of 1990, the year the Crowes first album “Shake Your Moneymaker” was released. Chris and Rich Robinson talk about their love of Aerosmith, and about how their debut album had just given them a great Christmas present! xoxo
I interviewed Alice with my buddy Melissa Ruggieri (former music columnist for AJC, now for USA Today) as Covid was taking off, May 18, 2020. It was nice to have such a delightful conversation at the time – he’s a fun person to talk to! Wait’ll you hear what he has to say about the age-old rumor of Leave It to Beaver’s Eddie Haskell playing in his band! Xo Kaedy
Lynyrd Skynyrd was recently in Atlanta with ZZ Top. They’ve been on this extended tour since the death of guitarist and founding member Gary Rossington on March 5, 2023. This piece of interview is from October 17, 1994, just days before the anniversary of the 1977 Skynyrd plane crash tragedy… xo.
In honor of The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour coming to the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre September 5th with Lynyrd Skynyrd, here’s an old interview from 2011 from when I spoke with the down-to-earth, humble, extraordinarily talented Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top! xo
My buddy Melissa Ruggieri, music writer for USA Today, interviewed Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen with me in October of 2017. We talked about his fabulous artwork and the longevity of Def Leppard. Rick returned to Atlanta this summer with Def Leppard, Journey and The Steve Miller Band at Truist Park! xo
I was absolutely THRILLED to talk to one of my favorite musicians Jeff Beck May 18, 2010, before his concert at Chastain. The depth of his contribution to rock and popular music is unmatched! We talk of his work with American idol contestants, his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by his childhood friend Jimmy Page, and Jeff’s induction of his dear friend Les Paul. One of my favorite parts of this conversation is when we discuss his work on Stevie Wonder’s version of “Superstition”! Jeff Beck would have been 80 on June 24. Sadly, we lost him January 10, 2023. xo
I spoke with Carlos Santana about the documentary of his life, “Carlos” (which came out late last year), his career, family, band, and about him going back out on tour at age 77. Santana plays Gas South Arena June 18th with Counting Crows.
I’ve interviewed Ann and Nancy Wilson several times – they are both thoughtful and soft-spoken. Ann, in particular, is a very shy interview. I find the hardest thing about doing phone interviews is that you can’t see who you’re talking to and you don’t want to talk over them until they’ve finished their thought. You need to keep it moving in radio, so it was hard to learn to let the silences (pauses) breathe in live interviews! You’ll probably notice it in this interview from September 19, 2012, just as Ann and Nancy’s autobiography “Kicking and Dreaming” was released.
I LOVED having Bob Seger visit me at 96 Rock on October 13, 1994 to promote his new Greatest Hits album – he has an amazing energy in person – he’s truly a warm, generous person. My favorite line of his comes when I ask what he thinks of Kenny Rogers/Sheena Easton’s version of one of my favorite songs of Bob’s , “We’ve Got Tonight” – unexpected and classic!! Listen for special appearances from former Atlanta Falcon Mike Kenn and dear friend and beloved Atlanta sportscaster/newscaster/TV and Radio personality/writer/”Renaissance Man” Jeff Hullinger, who did an afternoon sportscast with me daily on 96 Rock!
