Description

Kamala Harris will become Vice President following one of the most tumultuous elections in U.S. history. Hosted by MSNBC’s Joy Reid, “Kamala: Next In Line” tells the cross-cultural journey that led Harris from her humble roots to become the first Black woman to represent California in the Senate and now the first Black woman elected Vice-President.

From Oakland to Howard University, from California to Washington D.C., experience her story as it has never been told before. From Wondery, the team behind “The Shrink Next Door," and MSNBC, the team behind "Bag Man," "Next In Line" is an intimate and immersive six-part series diving into what drives Kamala, what her critics say about her, and how she has arrived at this historic moment.

The latest episode explores the little-known story of a place that shaped Kamala Harris’ identity – the Rainbow Sign. It was a Black cultural center in Berkeley, California that opened its doors in 1971 and welcomed the likes of James Baldwin, Nina Simone, and Shirley Chisholm. Odette Pollar, whose mother Mary Ann Pollar who founded Rainbow Sign in 1971, tells Trymaine what the center was like during its brief but influential lifespan. And Dezie Woods-Jones, founder and President of Black Women Organized for Political Action, explains how the social and political climate in the Bay Area at the time gave rise to Rainbow Sign, and how the center impacted Harris’ life.  Listen to the full episode now and subscribe: https://link.chtbl.com/intoamerica_kamalaSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Come November, this podcast will be non-existent! I guess it could last a little longer post election, with all the disappointment, shock and crazy, disgraceful hate that will occur like it did in 2016, followed by more in 2017 & 2018 that became downright pathetic, grasping at any and everything in 2019 and coming up with nothing! Yet here we are in 2020 and the Democratic party is still throwing a fit, putting out lies, division and are pretty much guilty of everything that they accuse others of doing. Sadly they don't even try to cover their asses with their lies and political games anymore, because they think the american people are too stupid to catch on and see for themselves. Unfortunately, they are right, there are a few that are too Ignorant to understand persuasive deception tactics when spoken to them or when they read it themselves. Partly based in truth stating true facts that are known and provable, but then twisted in a way that is deceptive and believed by those that do
