Childhood trauma is tricky. The trauma can be buried so deep inside of us, which for many is the only way we've survived; yet, that same trauma can be triggered at the slightest moment. Trauma is as tricky as a field of landmines if you think about it. It is possible to make it through a field of landmines, technically, but think about how ever so gently and strategically you have to move. Each step you take could be the one that ends you.
I don't want to live my life like I'm walking through a field of landmines anymore. For a point, I was okay not acknowledging my trauma, then I acknowledged. Once I acknowledged it, I created boundaries to "protect" myself from being triggered, but that doesn't feel good enough more.
I'm ready to release...at least I think so. We got another journey to go on yall! Keep running...

It's a shame how comfortable we are with struggling, lack, insufficiency, sickness, and other negative things. We have somehow convinced ourselves that those negative things are just "ways of life". In turn, we believe that positive things only happen to us on occasion and up until a certain point because then it must be "too good to be true".
With this episode and the help of The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, I hope you learn of ways in which you can increase your capacity of enjoyment for the good things in your life. By finding the good and focusing on just that, I hope you begin to radiate energy so positive that only the greatest of great things is attracted to you.
Side note...I may or may not have had a venti iced coffee from Starbucks right before this episode hence the yelling...The message is still good though!

I know I sound like I’m talking at a drive thru speaker but hey, the message is good!! Good, better, best. Never let it rest until your good is better and your better best! You deserve good and great and better and best from this life. Don’t embrace the negative. Flow with the positive. Our minds are so powerful as a tool to create the reality we want.
Affirmations should come with warning labels and child proof caps. I was not ready for this roller coaster ride of “date” I went on. I didn’t plan on sharing this at all but hey, I’m amongst friends right?
I can't believe that I am going to be a MANAGER. It's crazy how you pray for things and then they happen. These corporate streets are not for the weak. You definitely have to know how to work it...put your thang down, flip it, and reverse it. We switched lanes but still running. Time to put it in sport!

I didn't think I would be talking about sex so soon. Remember when I was telling you all how scared I was of publishing this podcast and now, I'm talking about laying it low and spreading it wide. Crazy! I promised to give a real, honest look at the journey and here we are. Enjoy!

When I first started "doing the work", I realized that I never really gave myself the chance to feel my feelings. Now, I'm a total sensitive Sally and feel all of the feels all of the time. But, what happens when you have very different feelings all hitting at the same time? I'll admit, I got a little lost in the sauce and lost focus. If you're in a similar place, I would urge you to cry and get back to it. Do BOFFUM!

No one told me that true self confidence was something that I would have to work for. Once I started on the path of building confidence in myself, I realized there was a long yellow, brick road ahead of me.
Everyone will tell you that you need to dream big but I have a few problems with that. Dreaming isn’t easy and making them happen is hard. I just need to get this out!!

If there's a whole movie about losing a guy in 10 days then I can definitely find a husband in 10 months...right? My dream is to be married on 2/22/22 and I absolutely believe it's possible. So far, I haven't made it to first base with anyone and I'm just as single as when I got started on this journey. No one told me that this would be easy, but I'm slowly learning that being a "contradiction" could be the source of my problems. Only 252 days until my wedding...and of course, you're invited!
Please listen to this episode because it could very well be my last one. I've always captured quotes from my talks with my 90-year old grandmother, but this is the first time I've let anyone hear her words...and I didn't ask permission. If she does kill me, I hope you enjoy the wisdom that flows from her so effortlessly. It is her guidance that has kept me running for so long. I thought it was only right that I let you get in on it. Until next time...hopefully!
Who knew that this podcast would put me back in therapy?! Launching something new is always scary but add in some irrational fears and you'd be on someone's couch too. But, hey, if this doesn't work out...I'm already in therapy.
On your mark. Get set. GO! We are officially on a journey together that is sure to be one full of fun, fearlessness, and authenticity. I'm excited to have you and I hope you're excited to have me too! I've created this space to welcome those on a journey of discovery and glow-ups. If that's you then let's get to it. Keep Running.
This week on Black Girls Do Reviews, it’s a full house of hot takes, puppy drama, and pop culture commentary 👀🐾 Kendra held it down with Nico for a few days — and let’s just say, he’s a lot. We get into what it was like co-parenting a six-month-old puppy with anxiety, what worked, and what absolutely did not.💘 Then, it’s Love Island time! The girls are sounding off on Huda and Jeremiah and the messiest situationship of the season so far. If you’re watching, just know: we’ve got big opinions.🌯 And of course, what’s a week without food? We tried Popeyes’ new chicken wraps and gave them a very real, very necessary review. Are they a serve or a skip?👀 We also touched (lightly) on the recent Tyler Perry allegations — and while we didn’t get to deep dive, it’s a convo we’ll revisit soon.Tap in, subscribe, and tell us your thoughts in the comments!📌 New episodes weekly | Hosted by Nzinga + Kendra#BlackGirlsDoReviews #LoveIslandUSA #PopeyesWraps #DogMomLife #PodcastLife #TylerPerry #PopCulturePodcast

Maybe in 20 years, someone will ask what we were doing during the 12-hour TikTok ban and now we'll just pull up this episode. Talk about the drama! It feels like America has turned into its own Real Housewives franchise. Clock it!
We're thinking of new shows to review and could use your help! Let us know what you're watching or will be tuning into.
Love you so much for tuning in!
Whoops! This video is a little late this week. I blame TikTok for going dark for those 30 minutes and coming back like nothing happened. I've been through a lot!! Thank you for tuning in and for being here though. Platforms come and go, so we want to be sure that you know you're appreciated!
As the season of RHOP and RHOSLC come to end, what should we review next? We love anything messy, full of drama, crazy twists and turns, etc. Send us suggestions!
