Hira is joining us all the way from Pakistan, we may have a slight language barrier, but I think we worked well together to bring her story to the internet. I hope you enjoy listening. We all have our own story and even though at times it can feel like we are going through this life alone our shared or common experiences can make it feel like we are long lost family. I hope that through listening to these stories you will feel closer to others and less isolated. Some clarifications: Pakistan does not have the same HIPAA laws as the US. In Hira's instance she was at peace with her husband being told first, because he was able to be her rock when she was told her diagnosis. We welcome Jamie onto the Keeping up with your Breasties podcast this week, and we delve a little into what it means to have HER3-negative breast cancer. How we spent our down time during chemo and hot-takes.
If you haven't already, go back and listen to Rebecca's story. If you have listened to her story hit play to hear the rest and some beautiful pearls of wisdom from a survivor and warrior. If you are a survivor or caregiver close your eyes, take a breath, blow it out, and know you are loved. Warning minor language used, talks about anatomy and sex, and may be triggering for those with PTSD after breast cancer.
Warning this episode is a little longer than our previous episodes, there is mild language, anatomy/ grown-up talk, and some editing to cut loud background noise interruptions. Enjoy listening to a down to earth, educated, kind hearted survivor and my friend; Rebecca Smith. Do NOT drink before going in to have a biopsy done. These stories are for your benefit, to understand what other women have gone through. Do what is RIGHT for YOU: listen to your doctor, do your own research, and in the end make the decision you are most comfortable with.
In this episode Liz is back to answer some questions and clarify some key points of her story. If you are a survivor or caregiver close your eyes, take a breathe, blow it out, and know you are loved.
On this episode of Keeping up with your Breasties we welcome Liz, a labor and delivery nurse who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2018. Take a listen to learn more about her story and hear it here first if you haven't already: "All experiences and feelings are valid, not matter how old, young, or whatever else." We all find at some point in our lives that we compare ourselves to others either physically or when you are going through breast cancer you tend to compare suffering and pain. If you are reading this still, I want you to know that your suffering, your pain, your experiences are ALL valid. Stop comparing yourself or your experiences to others, respect their experience as theirs and then turn that respect inwards because you have your own experiences that need to be acknowledged.
This is the interview episode for Jacquelyn Svoboda and her story. To listen to her story click on the first episode of this season called: Waterparks and the Bumpy ride of Breast Cancer. If you are a survivor or caregiver close your eyes, take a breathe, blow it out, and know you are loved.
In this episode we welcome Jacquelyn Svoboda an amazing breast cancer survivor and the founder of Friends Thru the Fight. Take a listen to hear her story and remember this Sunday she will be answering questions. Friends Thru the Fight: https://friendsthruthefight.weebly.com/
This season we will be hearing survivor stories from other breast cancer survivors. All stories and experiences are valid, there is no "Just" in cancer. If you want to share your story or know someone who may want to share their story please message me through the Facebook page described below. If you have questions you want answered by myself or my guests I have pinned a post that you can comment with your question and who you want to answer. This episode goes into depth about my taxol chemotherapy treatment journey. Warning: menstrual cycle mentioned briefly. Keep in mind what worked for me may not work for others and my experience is my own. Not every cancer patient is undergoing this kind of treatment and if they are not everyone feels the way I do. Thank you for listening. If you have any questions, comments, or ideas you want to share feel free to look up Keeping Up With Your Breasties on Facebook and leave a comment or send me a message.

How I started my chemo journey, the hair loss, and the side effects. This episode may not be for everyone but I hope it helps someone going through chemo, starting chemo, or a caregiver.
I want everyone to know that if you want children and you get diagnosed with cancer and have to go through chemotherapy, ask you doctor about fertility issues that may arise. Even if you don't know if you want kids ask. Doctors are worried about the here and now, and beating the cancer. You need to worry about your future after you beat the cancer. Warning***grown up talk
My mental health experience, going through chemo. Cognitive testing, Brain MRI, and the continued feelings I have on the subject. The last few minutes might be a PSA for all of us living on the internet as a reminder to be Kind and spread love not hate. Hate only hurts you, and frankly you have to know someone to hate them so how about saying "dislike".
Sometimes the only reason they get away with it is because they are family. This episode is dedicated to my family for being with me during the roughest year we have had together.
Anyone else have a story like this? For me it was the male nurse the morning after my surgery tugging my gown closed which happened to pull on my drains. Modesty comes at a price, but it shouldn't cause physical pain. Send me a message: https://anchor.fm/emily-hayes1/message
