I've got some exciting news to share with you to get started on this episode and then we have a conversation I promise you are going to love.    Ron Cox is the author of "Me and My Best Friend" which is a compilation of 30 stories from 30 years of friendship.  A lot of people may hope to write a book like this but imagine publishers would be underwhelmed.  Not for Ron.  They liked the first draft he wrote in just four months and then he financed the entire project so every penny of sales can go to the Daniel L. Cox scholarship program.  It honor's Ron's nephew who lost his life with the 10th Mountain Unit in Afghanistan.   This is an incredible story and we hope you pick up the book and then pick up the phone to connect with somebody in your life.
In one of the most elitist arrogant interviews you could eve see, former Biden Press Secretary "circle back" Jen Psaki is under fire for questioning if JD Vance's wife is safe being with him.   It's so out of touch and insane we are starting to realize that the so called "polarization" in America has almost nothing to do with a very normal majority of people.    Meanwhile, in Trump world we get comments about Obama's Library construction debacle, recovering money from the DOJ for all the investigations and a popularity contest in India.  It's true, you never know what topics this president will speak about.    Japan's new Prime Minister's first move is the creation of the Ministry of Deportation, Walmart is making a couple big moves.  In sports, a pair of Chiefs fans make a stink about their ejection and I'm actually glad they got the boot for being jerks.   Russell Wilson fires back at a former coach.    Bobby Witt Jr. speaks out on what he says went wrong with the Royals this year.  The World Series features a pitcher that's had an amazing journey to get here this year.  Michael Jordan shares an incredible story in an NBC interview.  And our Final Final is the great Randy Johnson's explaining why he doesn't sign jerseys at autograph show.  It will warm your heart.
It's a numbers game on KKHI today as gas prices, arrests, deportations and polls all make Trump look like, well, Trump.  This is getting so good.    A famous singer complains about the White House posting an AI video of the president in action set to the singer's song.   Pro Football Focus has been the most respected football stat operation in America for years but it may have real trouble ahead.  Wait until you hear the Mahomes stat from Sunday's game that should just end the stat forever.    Texas Tech has pulled the plug on tortilla tossing at games.  But with the stupid rule the Big 12 has, and no separate rule in place at KU's stadium, why wouldn't KSU students bring thousands of tortillas this week and toss them all over the place after the Jayhawks' disgraceful scandal in Lubbock two weeks ago?    The World Series is set after a dramatic game seven in the American League.  Former KU guard Christian Braun hits the jackpot and our Final Final is a famous actor we like talking about the role of a lifetime he missed.
It's possible the Chiefs just played the single most complete game in franchise history and as easy as it is to write it off as just a crappy Raiders team, don't fall for that.  This was brilliance all the way around as KC may be playing better right now than any time in the Andy/Mahomes era.  What an epic 31-0 beatdown that could have been even worse.    The Broncos are officially the team pulling the rabbit out of the hat every week and they did it again Sunday to take the lead in the AFC West.   Mizzou wins a double OT game at Auburn that was dramatic but not exactly a thriller.  Just Mizzou taking care of business.    Late Night at the Phog had a completely different look and sound this year to tip off KU basketball and it's not a good look.     The Secret Service has found a hunting stand in a tree next to Palm Beach Airport right in line of sight of where President Trump gets on and off Air Force One.  KJP has a new book out ripping the Dems and the No Kings rallies around the country all looked like Saturday Night Live sketches.  What a joke.    Our Final Final is one of the greatest jewelry heists of all time at the most famous museum in the world.
I can't believe its not bigger news that your federal government is currently operating with a surplus.  Wait, what?  It's true.  In September with tariffs and more, the treasury took in $198 billion dollars more than it spent.  Imagine what October will be like with a government shutdown.   Meanwhile, Kansas City, Mo is $100 million short on it's budget but has approved $22 million for a temporary jail to house 100 criminals during the World Cup.  You can't make this up.    KCI's terminal gets ta new name.  My buddy Cato has a nifty idea to taunt the No Kings rally folks this weekend.  North Kansas City's mayor puts out a statement about the Royals building a ballpark in Clay County and Lee Sterling of www.paramountsports.com has your pigskin picks.
It's been a long and windy road getting to the facts of how a pocketknife wound up on the 38 yard line of the KU bench Saturday night in Lubbock and it has ended horribly for Lance Leipold and his staff.  According to reports, a KU coach or staffer placed the knife in plain site to draw a penalty on Texas Tech and then told his head coach that it came from the stands and he got hit.  This is a total black eye for college football as both programs get fined.   Chiefs tackle Josh Simmons may be out for quite awhile and the Chiefs can't comment.  This has to be a legal, privacy issue and I'll tell you what I think is the reason for his absence.    John Fetterman made scathing comments to his fellow democrats in DC at a public forum at the Kennedy Center.  Nancy Pelosi loses her cool with a reporter that was trying to get her to comment on the truth.  Trump and Patel are doubling down on crime.    NBC is laying off some very specific employees and a local BBQ joint goes back to the future.
It's no surprise that KCI has banned the playing of Kristi Noem's video that DHS is requesting all airports play.  It's going to be most airports that won't play it and I think that is actually the point of the whole thing.  Create something viral for millions of people that won't fly during the government shutdown and call it a marketing success.    Texas Tech has confirmed they found a pocket knife on the KU sideline last Saturday night in Lubbock.  Now they have to find the person who may have thrown it and throw the book at that person.    Ten years ago, 538 invented something called a Trump Score for other politicians.  It was designed to make Trump look stupid.  Now 538 is no more and the Trump Score has become something everyone wants to win.    I learned something interesting about my mom's listening habits yesterday and you may be surprised.    Chiefs left tackle Josh Simmons has left the team and this is becoming quite a mystery.  It can't be great.    Bob Kendrick has scored a major success for the NLBM and we have a really fun audio production to prove it.    And today's Final Final is one of the greatest ever combining running a marathon while eating as much of one kind of food as humanly possible as you do it.  You have to hear this.
About a week ago, I heard somebody say that President Trump is doing such a great job that, "we don't deserve Trump."   I immediately understood what the man meant and agreed with him.  Until I didn't.  We absolutely deserve this and have absolutely earned it and it really came into focus watching all those families welcoming home family members that were hostages.  Incredible.    As the world celebrates the peace deal, Liz Warren tried, somehow, to take some credit for the deal.  That led to JD Vance just dropping a whopper on her via social media.  Hysterical.    We have a new front runner for most cringe worth Dem politician video, this one is really, really bad.    The Browns and Bears release information about their brand new stadiums they are building and you won't believe how much better the Chiefs offer is than these.    Rashee Rice is back on the practice field this week, the Bills lose again, the Lions punch thrower is suspended and more in our NFL roundup.    Lance Leipold says it's not tortilla throwing that got his ire Saturday night in Lubbock, it was a knife that was thrown.    We had an insane double play in the NLCS game Monday night, KU hoops gets a surprise as the AP poll is released and Nebraska's coach does anything but calm his fan base about a possible job opening.    Our Final Final is the Baldwin brothers out for a drive in their Range Rover in the Hamptons when a tree gets in the way.  Hilarious.
The Football Feast is filled with story lines as the Chiefs, quite possibly, are playing better than any team in the NFL.  I'll give you my thoughts on how they've turned this offense around and the Stan Weber will join me to discuss where it's going the rest of the season.    Also, the Missouri Tigers certainly had plenty of chances Saturday against Alabama but come up short.  It's a loss to Alabama, so everything is still possible for Mizzou.   K-State pounds TCU in a game that looked a lot more like a Chris Klieman kind of performance.  And KU's defense gets abused by a really, really good looking Texas Tech squad.    And our Final Final is one of the most touching football and family moments anywhere.
I'm not on the train with folks saying Sunday night is a must win for the Chiefs, I've seen them win way too many games in a row to believe that.  But I think the team may approach it like a playoff game and that could be real trouble for the Lions.    You can't ask for a better setup for the Missouri Tigers to host Alabama.  This is the perfect storm and you should change your schedule and block off three hours or so Saturday at 11:00 and watch this one no matter who you root for.    The Phillies season ends in shocking fashion.  Super college basketball fan "Sister Jean" dies at 106, we'll remember her grace and charm rooting her team to the Final Four in 2018.    Me and Jessica spent a couple hours visiting some old buildings downtown Thursday that gave us chills hearing the history of it all and seeing what the new owners are doing to turn a couple city blocks into an entertainment area.   Then, Lee Sterling of www.paramountsports.com has our football picks for the weekend and our Final Final is a fast food chain stepping outside their lane.
The Nobel Peace Prize has a choice to make.  Give their once prestigious award to Donald Trump or go out of business as he just brokered a deal for peace in Gaza.  Their are celebrations all over the world.    Trump got news he was needed to finalize the agreement when Marco Rubio interrupted a forum the prez was holding at the White House with reporters that have been injured by ANTIFA members.  One reporter told the story of how being abused by ANTIFA flipped her from a person with Trump Derangement Syndrome to full on MAGA.    Climate change had nothing to do with the wild fires in LA last January and it wasn't an accident.  The feds have filed charges against a Dem supporting donor that fantasized about burning a city down for years.    The IRS is about to get cut in half because of the shutdown.  Great!   Masks are back in a rich, blue part of California.    Andy Reid says it's a week to go back to the basics.  Patrick Mahomes is suddenly among the best passing downfield.  Eli Drinkwitz crashes a call with Alabama's coach.  The Yankees season is over and the NCAA will allow athletes to bet on pro sports.  Then, it was the right "Time" for a singer to make a big announcement.
It was Ladies Day Tuesday in the Trump administration as Pam Bondi was the most prepared witness ever in front of the Senate and Kristi Noem takes on criminals and officials in Oregon.    The mayor of Chicago has declared he's developing ICE free zones so it begs the question... can I run for mayor and develop IRS free zones?    We have multiple stories of media racing to the bottom as Nicole Wallace is on the hot seat and NBC News contradicts its own reporting.    The Chiefs have the highest paid kicker in the league and he's struggling more than anyone else on the team.  This has to change fast.    Mizzou has a 15 game home winning streak on the line Saturday as they host Alabama.  But they also have a steak of 5 SEC losses to the Tide.  Something's got to give.    The MLB playoffs serve up some real drama and a man in Canada gets the strangest DUI ever.
You may not like my take on the Chiefs super disappointing loss to Jacksonville Monday night but I actually feel better about this team than I have all year.  Yes, there were a few plays in this one that you just can't have... ever.  But, for the first time in a couple years I feel great about the offense and expect it to get better.  Hang in there, this is going to be a bumpy road but nobody is running away with the AFC West.    Chiefs President Mark Donovan shares plans for a what a renovated Arrowhead would look like and you won't believe how little $800 million gets you today.    Trump and his admin are cracking down on all these thugs spitting on feds and firing bricks at buildings.  Let's move this up through the court system and get the full on green light please.    A once popular country singer apparently doesn't like selling music or tickets as he's decided to release a song blasting ICE and the United States.  Oh, my.    Mizzou and a couple of other former Big 12 teams are undefeated in the SEC and this week's game against Bama feels like the biggest moment in a long, long time for the Tigers.      And remember the Phillies fan and his son that crazy Karen ran up to for a baseball home run ball?  Remember he gave it to her?  Well, he got something a lot better this weekend.
The rest of the league is allowing the Chiefs to get right back into the thick of things now that every team has at least one loss.  Will the Chiefs kick the door down or was the performance against the Ravens not that impressive?    Stan Weber is here to talk about what KC needs to do in order to top a much improved 3-1 Jaguars team on Monday Night Football.
We have a little bit of everything today as we head into a college football weekend.  Mizzou is off and so are the Chiefs... sort of.   KC is at Jacksonville Monday night but we still have a couple games that really matter.  KU and KSU are on the road with must wins if they want to be part of a Big 12 Conference race.  www.dannyclinkscale.com is here to talk college, Chiefs and even a bit of golf and baseball.    Then, Lee Sterling of www.paramountsports.com has your point spread picks.  And, we have a chat with Missouri Congressman Mark Alford about the growing political violence from the left.
A listener turned me on to a little known podcast for men dealing with addiction.  It's as much therapy for the guest and listeners as it is anything else and the latest conversation is with former Chiefs coach Britt Reid who is out of prison and building a new life.  I was skeptical at first, thinking Britt would not come clean and try to create an appearance that all is well.    Instead, he tells all on "That Sober Guy" podcast.  You're about to hear him say things about his life of guns, drugs, addiction  and prison.  He chronicles living at his dad's house, working for his dad as a coach and using and abusing for decades.  Contrary to news reports, Andy Reid knew everything and warned his sons they are in a family filled with addicts.  This is gut wrenching and it explains a lot about why the Chiefs have been so secretive.  Not anymore.  Britt smoked pot and got drunk at Arrowhead and nearly killed a little girl.  He thought his worst days were behind him as it was only marijuana and booze and not heroine and cocaine and opioids.  This is the story of a family dealing with addiction and tragedy all while living a high profile life at the top of the NFL.  There is no other football story like this and Britt shares it all.   Then we lighten things up with some football fun for Mizzou fans as Jon Gruden is on the band wagon and the great Stephen Miller says Memphis is about to be liberated.
I can think of a thousand things that if they were shutdown today I would notice.  The federal government isn't one of them.   So here we go, will this be another shutdown about nothing that we all forget about or will President Trump make this a shutdown to remember?    Frank White is out as Jackson County Executive... wait until you hear how badly he got smoked at the polls.  Now, who's next and what does it mean for the Royals and Chiefs.  At the same time, a lawsuit in Missouri is likely headed to the state's Supreme Court to keep the Royals and Chiefs from using tax revenue to build.    Kansas schools are becoming the embarrassment of the land as a young, portly principal with blue hair at an Olathe grade school takes a liberal stand.  And a sex ed teacher in Derby is arrested for child endangerment.  Why is this happening in Kansas so often and not Missouri?    The teenager that attacked the usher at T-Mobile Center ten days ago has been charged on two counts of assault but his real punishment may be coming from his school.    The Chiefs have the top cornerback in the league through four games and it's not Trent McDuffie.  Sporting KC makes a big, bold hire to run soccer operations.  Tom Watson has some very strong opinions about the fans at the Ryder Cup while Paul Azinger has strong words for Rory McIlroy.    And our Final Final is a new bridge that is the highest and longest in the world.
I had to wait a couple days to actually make sure the story of the Superintendent of the Des Moines School District is true.  It's so outrageously unbelievable that ICE picked him up and arrested him that it can only be the beginning of many, many more white collar scammers in our country getting caught.    President Trump scores another big settlement against a media giant and is creating quite a large bankroll for his presidential library.   It comes on the heels of a possible government shutdown for "non essential" agencies and employees at midnight tonight.  Count me in. I voted for ending non-essential.    The NFL appears to have an "effort" problem from several players this past weekend and its something they've never had to deal with.  They'd better get their arms around this fast or they would be risking the core reason people love the league.    The Chiefs defense continues to get zero credit as they reached another milestone streak on Sunday, the baseball playoffs start with a couple epic wild card series and our Final Final is a celebrity couple on the rocks.
Patrick Mahomes was as great as he ever was Sunday as Xavier Worthy returned to action.  The Chiefs never looked better.  Now, the Ravens defense may give the Cowboys a run for worst in the NFL but that doesn't matter right now.  The Chiefs have erased their 0-2 start with a pair of season saving wins and may have just flipped the bird to the world that had them dead and buried.    Lamar Jackson turned it over twice and wound up on the bench with a hammy strain, I'd say the defense did its job brilliantly.  Meanwhile, the Chargers lose and KC is now only one back in the division.    We recap a wild college football Saturday that saw Kansas State completely change its offensive scheme in an easy win over UCF.  KU is so easy to watch and Jalon Daniels was brilliant but Cincinnati took advantage of a KU defense that's acting like it wants to be the worst in the Big 12.  Beau Pribula sets a record in Columbia for the Tigers in a win over UMASS.    The Ryder Cup turned into a crap show this weekend, boy do I have some grievances. Chase Elliott wins a double overtime thriller at Kansas Speedway and I"m here to save you some money today if you'd like a cup of coffee.
It's a jam packed Friday episode as former FBI Director James Comey will reportedly surrender to authorities for an indictment on two charges including perjury in Congress.      President Trump will attend the Ryder Cup on Long Island in New York which is one of the wildest sporting events in history.  Wait until you hear what Irishman Rory McIlroy has to say about the United States of America.   Then, we lock in on football as the Chiefs prep for the Ravens.  The stars of the singing show "The Voice" chime in chorus about their favorite team and Stan Weber joins us for all things football this week.   Then, Lee Sterling of www.paramountsports.com has our point spread picks after going 5-0 on KKHI last week.  And our Final Final is a short personal note about what our Sunday afternoon will be like.

Great podcast, I have some ideas for growing your subscriber base. You had the best local radio show for years and I'm sure a lot of people would listen if they knew about your podcast.
