Hannah Parry is an organist, accompanist and choral conductor based in London, UK and Steinfurt, Germany. Hannah has a fantastically varied career which combines her professional musical activities and freelance journalism. She studied organ performance at the Royal College of Music with David Graham followed by a Masters degree at Royal Holloway, University of London. Hannah's freelance musical career has included church music posts at various London churches (most recently Farm Street Church in Mayfair) as well as accompaniment opportunities with choirs and choral societies. Teaching and outreach work with adults and children have featured highly and this work has led to close links with the Temple Church and the Union Chapel, Islington. Hannah also regularly performs as a soloist up and down the UK including St Paul's, Bradford and Norwich Cathedrals. Recent German concert venues have include the Nikolaikirche, Berlin and The Großekirche, Steinfurt.What's this podcast about?Well it started out of sheer curiosity. Fredrik Seines (classical guitar) was born and raised in Narvik, Northern Norway and has performed in various settings both as a soloist, in chamber music groups, and as a solo guitarist in Scandinavia. In 2019, he completed his master's studies under the legendary guitarist Göran Söllscher. Fredrik is currently touring in Norway with music from his debut album.In this interview he plays:Ulf G. Oscar is a young baritone currently based between London and Cambridge. He began singing aged 6 as a Chorister at the Temple Church, London, later becoming a Junior Choral Scholar at Southwark Cathedral and a Choral Scholar with the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge. He recently graduated with a first-class degree in Music from the University of Cambridge. Whilst at the University, Oscar was cast in a number of roles with the Opera Society, including Adonis in 'Venus & Adonis', Somnus in 'Semele', Polyphemus in 'Acis & Galatea' and Bartolo in 'Le nozze di Figaro'. He also stage directed a number of productions for the Society, including the second UK production of the digital chamber opera 'Denis & Katya' by Philip Venables. Oscar has been fortunate enough to take part in masterclasses with world-class singers such as Roderick Williams, Mark Padmore, Nicky Spence and Catherine Wyn-Rogers, and in his final year of University he was a participant of the Sir Arthur Bliss Lieder Scheme with Joseph Middleton.
John Holland-Avery from Staines, Middlesex is a BA (Hons) in Music from York University and is a former Bass Lay Clerk of St John’s College, Cambridge, with whom he toured a lot of Europe. In 2016 he completed an MMus in Vocal Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, during which time he won the 2015 Frederic Cox Song Prize (RNCM) and sang live on BBC Radio 3. His studies were generously supported by the Mercers’ Company and an Independent Opera Voice Scholarship. What's this podcast about?Well it started out of sheer curiosity. Formerly Headmaster at Westminster Abbey Choir School, Peter Roberts has a first class combined honours degree in Spanish and Portuguese from King's College, London. He became Queen Mother's Scholar of the Middle Temple before practising as a barrister and becoming in-house lawyer at Hyperion, which produced records with the choir of Westminster Abbey choir for many years. After PGCE training at the Institute of Education, he taught at Tidemill Academy in Deptford before moving to St George's Windsor Castle. What's this podcast about?Well it started out of sheer curiosity. After first taking up music at school, Isaac received a Choral Scholarship to King’s College, Cambridge, as a counter-tenor, where he sung under Sir Stephen Cleobury and studied for a BA in Philosophy and Psychology. After graduation, he was successfully appointed to a post at St Columba’s, Knightsbridge. Alongside this role, he has also held Layclerkships at Clare College, Cambridge, and New College, Oxford.What's this podcast about?Well it started out of sheer curiosity. Kieran Rayner is a London-based New Zealand operatic baritone. He has recently made his Royal Opera House debut in November 2022, as Junius in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia.Since arriving in Britain in late 2014, Kieran has been engaged by The Royal Opera House, Garsington Opera, English Touring Opera, Scottish Opera, IF Opera, Longborough Festival Opera, British Youth Opera, Devon Opera, Euphonia Opera, Riverside Opera, Park Opera, and Saffron Hall, among others.
