JT just look at any racial reconciliation conversation. Any attempt at a biblical conversation will be met by a not-neglegble group of people that will then say "just preach the gospel".

Wow… I know that I have read Romans 13 before but this was the perfect time to reread it. I just recently found this podcast. I’m using it to focus my daily Bible study. I don’t have to worry about who is in power(politically) because Jesus is still in control! Nothing is going to happen that God doesn’t already know about!

I love this podcast and I understand their heart in talking to one another but this sort of tone is why I grow tired so quickly of talking about God with seminary students and other theology thinkers. Because the things that they say with a twinge of jest in relationship with one another, other people are not joking at all. Everything is absolutely correct or heresy and if you disagree then you are questioning the entirety of the Bible and the character of God. It's exhausting.

Actually I think we need to be careful about assuming everyone knows the basics of Genesis. I knew NOTHING. I didn't grow up hearing the stories...at all. I didn't even know who Jesus was. you guys are great but just wanted to point out there are people like me that don't know the stories at all

Listening to Episode 58, "What Did Jesus Do?" and it's pretty grievous to hear the (majority of the) crew affirm the impassibility of God. After doing a theology of suffering for weeks now, that just sounds like gobbledygook

Question on ep 54, "Who Is God?" I like the points and the agree I think with everything, but at around 25:05 you say that God the Father has never come into the world - I can't say that I know for sure that's wrong, but couldn't Genesis 3:8 be read to say that he did when he walked in the garden? I mean that might have been the Son, but the bible I'm reading doesn't specify.

Let me first say, this is a topic near to my heart, I'm am a man, so have dealt with this in the Church and in my own heart for years, my wife is in a leadership role, she is a gifted teacher (she takes the admonition in scripture very seriously in her role in teaching and leading women in our church, James 3:1, Titus 2, Proverbs 31, Deborah, Ruth, etc, etc..), a leader and shepherd of Women's ministries and just an overall godly woman, we have led small group Bible studies in our home for 20+ years and she is an invaluable EQUAL teaching partner and instructs men in these settings, so again this subject is near to my heart. While I agree, wholeheartedly with the place where VBC has landed here, I can honestly say the first half of this podcast was presented very poorly, most of the folks who have listened to this have turned it off after 30 minutes despite my urging to listen to it to it's conclusion, there are many instances where the listener can perceive VBC as being very liberal

Wow. This has caused me to think a lot and reevaluate my position. Thanks so much! My views were highly influenced by Grudem and Piper's book, Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. I think you would agree with most of what's in there but in regards to women teaching mixed gender groups, you are challenging my long held position. It's good and I have more think about and study.
