Walking by the spirit is just living a life in the spirit. It's living your life in the continual presence of the spirit of God. Jesus put it like this in John 15, that we need to abide in him, basically the same thing. If we abide in Jesus, the spirit is working within us. So as we abide in Jesus Christ, as we abide in that vine, as a branch abides in the vine, the Holy Spirit is pulsating the sap into our body, if I could put it that way. And he is producing then fruit in our lives. But as Jesus said, "When I'm separated from that vine, I shrivel up and I die." So walking in the spirit is a God consciousness. It's having Christ foremost in all your affections. It's pursuing God with all of your heart, as we're commanded. Now hear this message and be blessed...

We have God’s call to every believer to live a separated life. The Word of God calls us to be separated people. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. If we could step into the pages of the Bible, we'd find Daniel on his knees talking to His Father in heaven. Even after the king signed the law, forbidding anyone to pray to God for 30 days, Daniel "continued to go to his house, which had windows in its upper room open toward Jerusalem" and he got "down on his knees three times a day to pray to his God and praise Him, just as he had done previously" (Daniel 6:10). Nothing interfered with Daniel's prayer life. It was his lifeline to heaven. Through prayer, "Daniel placed himself on the side of God, to keep His ways, [and] the Lord placed Himself on Daniel's side, to keep him. God read Daniel's heart and poured Himself into His son so he could be a faithful witness to the power and love of God.

God is our great architect, our Creator, the One who knit us together in our mother’s womb. He knows the scars, the wounds, and every circumstance you have been through or ever will go through. What we see as broken, God sees as beautiful. He knows where each piece belongs; and when we put our trust and hope in Jesus, piece by piece, He puts us back together into something more beautiful than we were before. He is the God who rebuilds!

Every follower of Christ is essentially “called to the ministry” because ministry is simply what we do for God. So, we are all called to do ministry and even minister, but in all kinds of different ways so that the gospel can be proclaimed, the kingdom can be built, and God can be glorified. The important distinction between what kind of ministry we do is not who we are, what job we do, or even what abilities we have — it is the calling of God.

This is what GOD says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves, The God who summons horses and chariots and armies— they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles: “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’ —the coyotes and the buzzards— Because I provided water in the desert, rivers through the sun-baked earth, Drinking water for the people I chose, the people I made especially for myself, a people custom-made to praise me.

The single most important facet of successful Christian living is obeying the promptings of the Holy Spirit as and when they come. What may look trivial to you actually may have far reaching consequences. You must trust God that He loves you so much that anything He says is for your benefit. It is easy to take advantage of the goodness and gentleness of the Holy Spirit. It looks like there are no consequences when you disobey but surely there will come a time when you wished you obeyed.. Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.- Luke 11:28

Jesus also tells us in John 14:23 that in the same act of love for him, we must comply with whatever God has commanded for it is our duty to do so. “Jesus replied, 'Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
