By Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures - I Corinthians 12:1 (NKJV) - “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.” - I Corinthians 14:32-33 (NLT) - “Remember that people who prophesy are in control of their spirit and can take turns. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.” - 1 Corinthians 12:31 (NLT) - “So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts. But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all”. - I Corinthians 13:1-3 (NLT) - “If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.” - 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (NKJV) - “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit to anther the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. By Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures - 1 Corinthians 12:1 (NKJV) - “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant” - Romans 12:6-8 (NLT) - “In His grace God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” - Ephesians 4:11-16 (NLT) - “Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. “Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Message Points 1. Christians Should Not Be Ignorant About Spiritual Gifts 2. Every Christian Has A God Given Gift 3. God Wants Every Christian To Discover, Develop and Deploy Their Gift To Build His Kingdom See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
By Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures - Matthew 7:16 -20 (NLT) - “You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.” - Galatians 5:16-23 (NLT) - So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. 19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! - John 15:4 (NLT) - “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.” Message Points 3 Keys to a Fruitful Life 1. It’s supernaturally-natural to live fruitful 2. The nature you feed 3. The Holy Spirit will produce See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
By Pastor Robert Rosales Scriptures - John 7:37-39 (NKJV) - “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will FLOW rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” - 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NLT) - A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. Message Points 3 Truths about the Work of the Spirit 1. The WORK of the Spirit starts with an INFLOW. 2. The WORK of the Spirit continues with an OUTFLOW. 3. The WORK of the Spirit is for the purpose of MINISTRY. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures - 1 Corinthians 14:2 (NLT) - “For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.” - 1 Corinthians 14:14-15 (NLT) - ‘For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am saying. 15 Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand’ - Romans 8:26 (NLT) - “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. - Jude 1:20 (NKJV) - “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit…” - Ephesians 5:18-19 (NLT) - Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. Message Points 3 personal benefits to speaking in tongues 1. Speaking in tongues helps us to pray and praise beyond the limitations of our natural mind. 2. Speaking in tongues strengthens our spirit. 3. Speaking in tongues ‘re-fills’ our spiritual reservoir. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures (All NKJV) - Hebrews 6:1-3 - “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.”‘baptism’ from Greek word "baptizo' =to dip; to immerse; to submerge - 1 Corinthians 12:13 - “For by one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one Spirit." - Matthew 28:19 - ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,’ - Ephesians 4:4-5 - "There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." - Matt 3:11 - "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.’ - Acts 2:2-4 - "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." - I John 5:7-8 - “…There are three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.’ Message Points Baptism into the Body of Christ Baptism In Water Baptism IN the Holy Spirit See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
By Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures - Proverbs 11:1 (ESV) - “A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.” - II Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) - “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” - II Peter 1:20b-21 (NKJV) - “…no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 8:14 (NKJV) - “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” - I Thessalonians 5:19-21 (NKJV) - “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.” Message Points Truth 1: THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD IS FOUNDATIONAL Truth 2: THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FRESH“ If we have the Word without the Spirit, we will “dry up.” If we have the Spirit without the Word, we will “blow up.” But if we have the Word and the Spirit together, we will grow up!” [R.T. Kendall/paraphrase] Truth 3: BALANCING THE WORD AND THE SPIRIT IS ESSENTIAL See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures (All NKJV) - James 4:4-10 - Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. Message Points - Request 1 - Submit to God, and resist the Devil. - Promise 1 - The Holy Spirit will cause the enemy to flee from you. - Request 2 - Draw near to God - Promise 2 - The Holy Spirit will forgive you and move toward you. - Request 3 - Humble yourself - Promise 3 - The Holy Spirit will restore you with salvation’s blessing. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. - Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV) - “He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” - Romans 8:1-2 (NLT) - So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you[b] from the power of sin that leads to death. - Galatians 2:9 (NKJV) - “and when James Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised” - Luke 5:9-10 (NKJV) - “For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken. 10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” - Philippians 4:14 (NLT) - ‘Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.’ - John 16:12-15 (TPT) - “There is so much more I would like to say to you, but it’s more than you can grasp at this moment. 13 But when the truth-giving Spirit comes, he will unveil the reality of every truth within you. He won’t speak his own message, but only what he hears from the Father, and he will reveal prophetically to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify me on the earth, for he will receive from me what is mine and reveal it to you. 15 Everything that belongs to the Father belongs to me—that’s why I say that the Divine Encourager will receive what is mine and reveal it to you. Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures - Luke 4:18a (NKJV) - “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He’s anointed me…” - 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (TPT) - “Now, the “Lord” I’m referring to is the Holy Spirit, and wherever he is Lord, there is freedom. 18 We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” - John 14:16-17 (NLT) - ‘And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate who will never leave you He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. But you know him, because He lives with you now & later will be in you.’ Message Points See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
