Last Week /This Week At Five Points

Last Week... On Sunday we covered chapter 9 of John's Gospel, where Jesus healed a man who was born blind in order to illustrate the truth that we too are born spiritually blind and only Jesus can open our eyes. This Week... This Sunday we will be looking at John 10:1-21, where Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd. Speaking of Sunday, don't forget! This Sunday we begin our new summer worship schedule. We will have Sunday School at 9am and the worship service will begin at 10:15am. This schedule will last through August 6th. Also happening this Sunday is our Dads & Donuts event taking place in the gym from 8:30-9:00am. Summer Book Clubs are also happening at Five Points! Click here for more information. Our missions partner for the month of June is Flatwoods Elementary School. Amanda Gilliam will be sharing about ways we can pray for the school and get involved in being a blessing to them and its neighboring communities. Last Week... We enjoyed hosting our "Moms & Muffins"  In our sermon series we took a look at John 6:22-59 and considered what are the marks of a false convert This Week... This Sunday we will take a look at genuine discipleship by exploring John 6:60-71 Register today for our "Treasuring Jesus Together" Family Seminar this Saturday from 9am-12pm. Question of the Week: What is the best and worst purchase you've ever made? Last Week... Last Thursday we were blessed to host the Tuscaloosa Baptist Association's "Lunch & Learn" in our Discipleship Center. We hosted over 40 ministry leaders from across the county. On Sunday we had the opportunity to celebrate the ordinance of baptism with Madeline Gilliam.  In our sermon series in John, we finished up chapter 4 by looking at Jesus' conversation with the royal official whose son was ill. We saw that through that story, Jesus is a new Moses who is leading a new exodus. But this time, the deliverance is from sin and death. This Week... Sunday we will turn our attention to John 5:1-47 and consider the authority Jesus possesses as the Son of God. Pastor Andrew will be hosting our next teacher training at 9:00am this Saturday in the Discipleship Center. It will end at 11:00am. This is for all leaders in our discipleship ministries. Question of the Week: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? Last Week... We enjoyed our Potluck, Prayer, and Praise this past Sunday, as we prayed for local, national, and global missions. We also had our Night of Prayer for Muslims on Monday evening. We spent a couple of hours pleading with the Lord to open eyes to the Gospel.  In our sermon series through John, we covered John 4:1-42-- Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman. And there we saw that Jesus' mission is to create worshipers of God from all over the world This Week... In our sermon series, we will be finishing up John 4 by looking at verses 43-54. Discovering Five Points is happening this Sunday, following second service. Lunch is provided. It will begin at 12:30 and will finish around 3:00. Click here to register. Today on Last Week / This Week... Today we are joined by our student pastor, John Brooks! Join us tomorrow evening (April 6) at 6pm in the Worship Center for our Good Friday service.  Also, make sure to stop by the gym this Sunday to get your picture taken. This will help us update our directory. This Sunday we will also be celebrating the resurrection of Christ and answering the question "What Is The Gospel?" by looking at Isaiah 6:1-8.
