During my interview with Kristin Ess, my longtime hairstylist and founder of Kristin Ess Hair, we discuss the importance of knowing your hair type, how to select the right products for you and how to find easy everyday styles. Kristin also tells the story of how she found success in a very competitive industry by doing it her way.
This week I sit down with NYT Bestselling author, Leslie Bruce, to discuss the transition into Motherhood and all the ups and downs that come along with it. We talk about the pressure we can feel when comparing ourselves to moms on Instagram, who often paint a beautiful and stress-free portrait of Motherhood, and we have an honest discussion about the challenges we all face, how to deal with guilt and adjusting to your new life.
Join lifestyle expert, fashion designer and NYT bestselling author Lauren Conrad as she has candid conversations with a variety of experts on everything from life, love, business and finding balance in it all. Lauren Conrad: Asking for a Friend launches Wednesday, May 8th!

Where was this podcast 3 years ago when I was a new mom?! Excellent topic. I felt so alone and mom shamed for my choices; stopping breast feeding, going to work, placing my daughter in childcare because my husband and I work, the bassinet I used, etc. It was nuts! And I really resonated with feeling like yourself again. My body and mindset were so out of wack for about a year or more, but I really feel like I am such a better and more in touch person with myself, my family, and my career. Thanks for talking about the tough stuff! Motherhood is literally the best thing to ever happen to me, but it’s also the hardest. But that just makes it that much more rewarding.
