August 28, 2008 timelapse from lawrence hall of science: The view cam captures a fire on Yerba Buena Island. At approximately 3 pm, a brush fire broke out on Yerba Buena island. You can see a large, white plume of smoke break out from the island, near the Bay Bridge. The smoke from the fire was visible for about an hour and a half!

The camera is in Berkeley, California, on a hill that provides a view of the San Francisco Bay and the western horizon.
