⭐️ Verb + ได้ dâi used for ability, availability, permission
ฉันร้องเพลงไม่ได้ ตอนนี้เจ็บคอมาก chǎn rôorng-pleeng mâi-dâi. dtaawn-nīi jèb koor mâak
= I cannot sing. My throat hurt badly at the moment. [Ability with limitation or restriction.]
ฉันไปด้วยได้ chǎn bpai dûuay dâi
= I can go with you. [Availabity]
⭐️ สามารถ sǎa-mâat + Verb ...... +ได้ dâi used when speaking in a formal setting
เขาสามารถพูดได้หลายภาษา kǎo sǎa-mâat pûud dâi lǎai paa-sǎa
= He can speak different languages.
⭐️ Verb + เป็น been used for skills that need to learn to acquire or "I know how to......"
ฉันร้องเพลงนี้เป็น chǎn ráawng-pleeng níi bpen
= I can sing this song. (I know how to sing this song.)
ฉันขี่จักรยานเป็น chǎn kìi jàk-kà-yaan bpen
= I can ride a bike. (I know how to ride a bike)
⭐️ Verb + ไหว wǎi used as "still can" for the ability to do something in a difficult condition.
คุณดื่มไวน์ไปสองแก้ว ขับรถไหวมั้ย khun dèum wine bpai sǎawng gáew kàb-ród wǎi mái
= You drank two glasses of wine. Can you still drive?
⭐️ ช่วย chûuay + verb + หน่อย nòi ..... (ได้ไหม dâi mǎi) used for asking for a favor or help as "can you please?".
ช่วยซื้อกาแฟให้ฉันหน่อยได้ไหม chûuay sêuu gaa-fae hâi chǎn nòi dâi mǎi

Sentence connectors link two sentences together and make your conversation more natural and dynamic. Many of you probably know the word "and", "but" and "because" in Thai. However, there are many other connectors that are commonly used in our daily conversations. Let's take a quick lesson on how to build complex sentences with the eight connectors in Thai.
แต่ dtàae (but), แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม (dtàe yàang-rai gôr-dtaam)
และ láe (and)
เพราะ próh (because)
ดังนั้น dang-nán, เพราะฉะนั้น próh-chà-nán (formal "so"), เลย loey (casual "so")
แม้ว่า máe-wâa (eventhough), แต่ก็ยัง dtàe-gôr-yang......อยู่ yùu (but still)
ไม่งั้น mái-ngán (otherwise)
ถ้า tâa (if)
ทั้งๆที่ táng-táng-tîi (despite)

If you still pronounce Thai words and release ending consonant sounds of ก(-k), บ(-p), and ด(-t), Thai people likely do not understand you. I got quite some inquiries regarding the ending consonant sounds, hence I created a podcast to help you understand the concept of ending consonant sounds as well as created an exercise to help you differentiate the unreleased ending sounds. This will be helpful!
-ก (k) ending
-บ (p) ending
-ด (t) ending
These ending consonant sounds should not be released. Close your throat and hold your breath.

This is another episode that will inspire you to learn Thai with real experience and tips from a foreigner who masters conversational Thai. Please meet khun Kenny Marshall of F45 gyms in Bangkok.
I met khun Kenny a few months ago by joining the workout at sessions at F45 but I just realized he can speak Thai very fluently and naturally so I invited him to be a special guest of this episode. One thing I realized from having a conversation with him is that he thinks developing an athletic skill and Thai language skill are quite similar, you need big motivation. You need to find your reasons and learning style, then observe, repeat and use Thai words you learn as much as you can. Having local Thai friends and asking for help from them is part of his tip as well as many more things you can take away and enhance your learning Thai journey.
Please enjoy!
How does Thai sound for you? Speak Thai naturally with interjections or sounds we make with different emotions - shocked, sad, impressed, doubting, etc. Let's get started.

โอ้โห ôh-hǒo = Wow!
บ้า bâa = That's creazy!
เห้ย hêuy = What!? (when something bad happened and you're shocked)
อืม eum / เออ euh = aha
เหย hěuy = awwww, uhmmm (good stuff)
เฮ้อ hêr = to sigh
โอ้ย óy = ouch! That hurts.
