On episode 66 on the Akeshi Akinseye Podcast, Akeshi chats with luxury fashion designer, Esé Azénabor. We talk about her journey as a fashion designer and taking the bridal industry by storm.

How she got started in the bridal industry
Some of he challenges she has faced as a designer
How she pivoted during the covid-19 pandemic
Her new couture collection - The Dream Collection
Ese shares dress shopping tips for brides
and more.
About Esé Azénabor:
Esé Azénabor-Grembowski is the Owner and Creative Director/Head Designer for her name sake brand Esé Azénabor. Her Inspiration comes from the world's arts, cultures and most importantly, God.
She designs for clients that love art and understand the craftsmanship that goes into each haute couture and bespoke garment. Esé Azénabor is known for her hand beading with fine crystals, stones and pearls, hand embroidery on fine French lace and tulle, her structuring with hymo, hard tulle, boning and attention to detail.
This Nigeria born Canadian transplant got to Texas as fast as she could. Hailing from a family who considered fashion design more of a hobby than a career, Esé started designing at the early age of 8 Years old. She had to sweep her creative urges under the rug because her maiden name "Azénabor" was grounded in the fields of medicine, law, and engineering, and she, in turn, attended the University of Windsor in Windsor Ontario, Canada majoring in Accounting. A move to Dallas, TX followed, to pursue a Master’s Degree at Southern Methodist University, detoured to following her dreams and started designing handmade dresses for herself, friends and family.
In 2012, without any financial assistance, this self-taught designer traded predictable college life for the wild world of fashion with the launch of her self-titled line. At her sewing machine, she conceptualized her fascination for heavy hand beading, crocheted lace, exquisite fabrics and embroidery. Inspired by a combination of vintage, African, and contemporary European influences, she merged cultures to create her Haute Couture Bridal and evening wear collections
The Esé Azénabor brand has produced a total of 21 different collections. She is now one of the world’s sought-after designers. Her brides fly in from all over the World to get their Esé Azénabor Couture piece. Her designs has been seen on national and International stars such as Taraji P Henson, Tara Banks, Michelle Williams, country star Kelsea Ballerini, Latin super star Thalia, Vivica A Fox and so much more. The Brand has been published in Huff Post, People Magazine, Vogue, Cosmo, Essence, Munaluchi bridal, Morden Luxury Weddings, CEOMoms, to name a few.
Esé Azénabor is a wife and mother and her goal is to empower women through the art of fashion.

When it comes to celebrations, luxury is in the experience and its in the details!
In the age of social media and trends, when planning a celebration, it’s easy to lose sights of the experience you want to create for your guests.
Wedding celebrations should not be based on size but the union itself. All celebrations should be embraced with an elevated guest experience in mind. Focus on the guest experience not guest size.
Instead of worrying about the guest size, focus your attention on ways to elevate your guest experience.
On this episode, I break down how you can do just that!

I am super new to these podcasts and I'm so excited to hear them all. What I have listened to so far are clear, concise and packed full with good ideas and messages to make you stop, think and make changes to improve your business! It's quite an easy listen but with so much punch! On top of it all, it's so special to be coming from someone who I see myself in, someone who I have emulated for a while now, a succesful Black woman. Thank You Akeshi!
