A cryptocurrency ATM looks and operates like a traditional ATM you would use at your bank or credit union. Scammers often direct their victims to utilize cryptocurrency ATMs because it a method of payment most people are not familiar with. They also like the anonymity these machines offer them. Did you know criminals steal mail looking for checks they can alter? It is called check washing. They dip checks in acetone to dissolve the ink. I overheard a gentleman sitting across me making a phone call. He was speaking loud enough that it was hard to ignore the conversation.
