Andrea Martin-Borges is the lead person for the Welcoming Team at the Cathedral. She has a vibrant faith, a love of God and God’s people. It’s always a delight to talk with a person recently baptized. At the Easter Vigil, 2021, Lauro Aquila was baptized and confirmed. Lauro was in his 60’s. He was raised in the Salvation Army Church, was affiliated with other Christian denominations, but had never been baptized. Join us on this journey of faith and music, and airplanes. The renovation of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament took place under the watchful eye of Monsignor James Murphy. After being ordained a priest in Ireland, he came directly to the Diocese of Sacramento. Join us as we learn about this very interesting life and what new books he has been working on. Kendal Hicks has been a parishioner at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament for a little over a year. She grew up in Quincy, CA and has been a lifelong Catholic. Sunday after our 10 am Mass I was able to sit down and chat with one of our cantors, Sal Atti. Sal came to the Cathedral in 2017 from Buffalo, NY. We talked with Beatrice De La Torre and Sylvia Rincon. They are best friends and very funny. We laughed and cried. Their stories of faith are truly inspiring. They are part of the A.C.T.S. community. I didn’t know them before this, and I was blessed in our meeting.
