You wouldn’t get any arguments from me if you chose to live a life filled with love.  Often times it can help us to heal divisions, repair fractured relationships and turn the page and start a new chapter.  Paul Zolman is the international bestselling author of the Role of Love, but the true author of love is God. In His wisdom, He placed us in a variety of circumstances that require us to find our way back to His pure love. So, what qualifies me to speak about love? “My childhood experience of the opposite of love. From that austere beginning, and the distaste it formed inside me, I searched for and eventually created a method that transformed my life from anger to loving everyone. Growing up in a family of abuse, physical touch became my preferred love style, only because of the regularity. I could almost count on it. It was consistent. I came to think that was the way to express love. But deep inside, I knew that was a twisted belief. I wanted a better life for myself, which is why I created a paradigm shift that works. In this book, you’ll find what helped me move from a childhood boot camp of abuse to being a person who loves everyone and can find good about anyone in any circumstance. This is truly the role of love. I hope you join me.” He joined me this week to tell me more.   For more information: https://roleoflove.com/
"It's nothing against the Dodgers or the West Coast or whatever. It's just about the details to go out there and where my family is. My future is where they're happy and I'm happy and that's why I decided to stay here. It has nothing to do with the Dodgers," Eduardo Rodriguez said about why he remained with the Detroit Tigers.  With this said the next question is did Scott Harris the Tigers President of Baseball Operations drop the proverbial ball in delivering elite prospects from the Los Angeles Dodgers after Rodriguez nixed a trade deadline deal which would’ve seen Rodriguez finish out the final two months of the season in Tinseltown?  Its one of my first questions I posed to Jake Riepma Sports Talk Show Host and producer from 97.1 the Ticket when I caught up with him this week to review the Tigers Trade Deadline activity or lack, they’re of. According to the Cleveland Clinic Leaky gut syndrome is a theory that intestinal permeability is not only a symptom of gastrointestinal disease but an underlying cause that develops independently. If your intestinal barrier is impaired, it may be letting toxins into your bloodstream. David Meine is a cancer survivor, competitive road bike cyclist, and dedicated pickleball athlete, David Meine is an experienced career entrepreneur with a long list of successful launches under his belt. When he’s not out winning athletic medals, holding motivational talks, or advising business boards, David dedicates his time to furthering the mission he and  his wife Carla, are most passionate about: Eating To Live! Over the past two decades, David’s work, books, and remarkable journey have inspired thousands of people to transform their health in the same way. “When I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, my life and identity fell apart. How and why did I, an avid athlete in his early 60’s who never smoked or drank alcohol, get dealt such terrible cards? Had it not been for my wife’s never-ending support and commitment to my recovery, I wouldn’t be standing here today. Before she connected the dots back to my leaky gut, I never considered that my excessive consumption of sugar, NSAIDs, saturated fats or gluten intolerance could have fueled my cancer and a lifetime of health problems. Looking back, I’m surprised I didn’t get sick sooner! My cancer was a massive tip of a giant iceberg, but it gave me a much greater goal––sharing my story of Eating To Live so that more people can heal in the same way.”  He joined me this week to tell me more. A survey of 2,000 American adults sought to uncover our relationship with handwritten notes, handwriting and email in the digital age. Results showed millennials not only appreciate writing more but are more likely to keep hold of hand-written keepsakes than those in their fifties. The research, which was conducted by handwritten note service, Bond, found millennials also tend to have a lot more confidence in their handwriting, with 33 percent reporting they have “very good” handwriting, compared to just 17 percent of those 55 or older. According to a study by the National Institute of Mental Health, 72% of entrepreneurs are directly or indirectly affected by mental health issues compared to just 48% of non entrepreneurs. 49% of entrepreneurs deal with mental health issues directly while only 32% of others experienced them.   Jeremy Evans owns and runs Thrice Agency, a marketing firm, as well as providing entrepreneurship coaching for hundreds of small business owners. Like any marketer worth his salt, he's generated millions for his clients and employs psychology daily. But psychology may not be enough to explain the global rise in mental illness. So Jeremy's founded the world's first marketplace for peer support. The goal is to incentivize people to talk about the heavy stuff and to prove that you're not alone.     ” I was pre-med in college. Typical premed student, studying hard and playing hard, until I woke up at 22. I had applied to just one medical school after an elaborate scheme. My girlfriend, a ballerina, was locked in place with her job, so I infiltrated a ritzy gala where I was selling $50 glasses of champaign. I found my target, the president of the medical school, and after the music was over, I got a private interview with him. I got all the way to the dotted lines, looking at those APRs. 16.9%. I remembered the 100 doctors I had worked with: they didn't even like their work. Then my future wife got fired. She needed to move to keep dancing. I stopped dancing and shut myself up in an unfinished Florida attic for a week. She was jet-setting to audition after audition while I was sweating, fasting, and crying like a baby. I didn't want to be a doctor. I wanted to help people. Lots of people. That's all I cared about. I was not some Randian psychopath. I was predominantly concerned about the poor and believed everyone would be rich if it weren't for greedy corporations. Until I had a vision”. AtlasTalked is a marketplace for heavy conversations. It's a network for those looking for or to provide one-on-one peer support, the first of its kind. Our providers ("Friends") are not professionals, just people like you. We talk about anything we like: from addiction and divorce to religion and spirituality. The platform is free to use, with a simple 20% commission on any transactions. We're growing a community of empathic, loving people to share their talents in a way they never have before. He joined me this week to tell me more.   For more information https://atlastalked.com/
The choices we make in life have a fundamental impact on the description of the person we want to be. But here is the good news, we have autonomy to make those decisions, choices and moments in our life count for something if we are committed to reaching and sustaining our peak potential.  Vices can have a grip on this process.  In particular alcoholism can place a firm stranglehold on inching forward in life. According to Statistics Canada, nearly 6 million Canadians aged 12 and over report heavy drinking at least once a month. One in 5 Canadians aged 15+ met the criteria for “alcohol abuse or dependence” over their lifetime.   Sean Robinson is an Author, Speaker and Motivator who focuses on self-improvement, mindset shifting and habit forming. He works in the construction industry, is a volunteer firefighter. and lives with his wife & three children in Ontario, Canada. Going Dry: My Path to Overcoming Habitual Drinking is his first book.   He’s an Electrician, have worked in the construction sector for almost my whole life. I started on a volunteer fire department in '03. Male dominance and toxic masculinity have been everywhere around me and expected of me constantly. What if I don't want to participate, what if I decide to be different? Other than having the job sites best (and worst) artists plastering your caricature and sexual preferences (correct or not) on every lunch table and porta potty, its just easier to play the game or not say anything. Unfortunately, you may not have any friends and you get laid off because nobody likes you. On to the next job I guess. It is time for the sector to be better. Anyone in the industry will tell you that there are some very prehistoric rules, both written and unwritten and that "it's always been this way." Recently I decided to take a break from drinking alcohol. When everyone around me stopped laughing, asked me what my problem was, accused me of judging them for still drinking and then added my picture to the previously mentioned porta potty wall, I only had to get out of my own head. This is much harder than we think. Out of sight from my peers and far enough from the lunch trailer, I decided to open my mind up to the world of self-help and betterment. So many things that were not for the man I was and the man I was expected to me because of my social circles. I could never admit to trying journaling, listening to self-help books or podcasts. Reading, are you kidding me? Not only did I do all of these things AND LOVE THEM but I wrote my own book about my journey to not drink alcohol. My book Going Dry - My Path to Overcoming Habitual Drinking has been a life changer. I hope it will change your life too. Construction and Firefighting, as well as many other male dominant roles, need to evolve a bit. Let's get the word out and let's tell these big tough burly men that they relax a little, appreciate some self-improvement, maybe a little Brene Brown or Mel Robbins and not end up on the wall in the bathroom. There have been some amazing women in construction and firefighting as well. However, you identify, this is for all of us. My wife and kids deserved better from me. I’m motivated to have a conversation about the evolution of learning with all of you.  Without further delay let’s engage in conversation. According to the American Institute of Stress 80% of workers feel stress on the job, nearly half say they need help in learning how to manage stress and 42% say their coworkers need such help. To bring some context to this discussion I want to introduce you, to Adam Strong.   Adam Strong is an Ultra-High Personal Productivity Authority, Business Strategist, Author, Public Speaker and the Founder of the Game Changers Experience. Adam was a former elite athlete in distance running (current world and Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah was his former training partner) and teaches the same success principals creating high energy and fast growing companies.   I lived near to a golf course which was going to be the corner stone of my first business. So I started to run up and down the fairway, wading through streams with a fishing net and exploring undergrowth in a search for lost golf balls. Naturally the golfers were more than a little curious about why a young lad was walking around their course with a bucket and fishing net. I’d show them the rescued golf balls and offer to sell them. Most said yes and I quickly learnt two things. The branded Dunlop and Slazenger balls would be worth 2/3 times more than an unbranded one. But only If they were undamaged. But to make any money I had to quickly learn how to negotiate. They’d offer me ‘X’ and I would haggle and haggle for a higher price until both of us were happy. Every time I came back with deep pockets of coins, I’d give some to my mum and save the rest. At the same time – maybe because of all that running around the golf course – I got into long distance running, some people though I was mad because I suffered from asthma! But a big advantage of running to me was that it didn’t need too much money to get started and the more I ran the more my confidence returned and the better I got. This is when I met my first coach, a guy who was well versed in turning normal joe public people into champions. He helped me become an elite long-distance runner because I was willing to listen and determined to do work other kids were not. I learned so much from him. Things like, distractions will destroy your progress; when you eliminate them, getting into the zone becomes simpler and more productive. This culminated with being a training partner of Sir Mo Farah (currently world and Olympic champion in 5,000 and 10,000 metres). That’s when I had my second breakthrough. The determination, creativity and mindset techniques world class athletes use to achieve impossible results could also be used to help entrepreneurs achieve the same thing. Take it from an ultra-athlete with asthma as a child. I’m featured on the front cover of Influential People Magazine, Global Woman magazine and Steer Magazine. Also featured in the Huffington post, The Guardian newspaper, People Management magazine and others. Personal accountability is a choice we all must make.  Its about taking ownership of the decisions we make and living with the authentic results.  For each of us relating to being accountable we reach a state of contentment differently.  Our individual standards on this regard vary depending upon our own level of commitment and responsibility were willing to absorb. After all, we are the authors of our own stories. Holding ourselves to account means we have our own standard of personal expectations and will eventually individually grow and collectively prosper. The question is our we willing to place a personal investment in ourselves? For Justin Crane “I’m a Special Forces Veteran who has been through a lot of shit most people would dream of. Now, I teach ANYONE how to change their Mindset and cut all the negative self talk out of their life!   I left the military due to medical reasons which led me into a deep depression where I let alcohol and drugs take over my life. I was the perfect example of the poor-me victim mentality. At this point, I felt like suicide was my only option. Until, it wasn't. What happened? I woke the fuck up. I found a coach to help me drop all of my vices and ultimately find my passion again. I changed all the things that were wrong with me and created the best person I could be. I took control of my life and fell in love with myself again. Now, I help others do the exact same thing. I’m on a mission to change people’s lives through Mindset, Fitness, and Nutrition.   I have been working out and training others for the past 20 years. I’ve beat alcohol and drug addiction and now I show others how to do the same.”  He joined me this week to tell me more.   Instagram: @justincrane_fit
As we age are physical capabilities naturally diminish.  However, that doesn't mean we cannot live a proactive lifestyle while the natural process of aging occurs. The National Council on Aging reports: Today's older Americans are healthier overall and living independently for longer. However, most older people have at least one chronic health condition, and many are dealing with multiple health issues. In 2020, the top chronic condition among adults age 65+ was arthritis (47%), followed by: ·         Any cancer (26%) ·         Diagnosed diabetes (21%) ·         COPD, emphysema, or chronic bronchitis (11%) ·         Coronary heart disease (14%) ·         Myocardial infarction (9%) ·         Angina (4%) With this information now in your back pocket I want to share the story of Barry Karch with you.   “I was an avid runner when I was around 40 years old. I competed in lots of races, from 1 mile to marathons - but I got burned out. I stopped racing for 20 years and put on 35 pounds. I kept asking myself when I was going to do something about the weight, but was never motivated enough to take action. Finally, when I hit my 60s, I told myself, "It's now or never." I finally did something about the weight. I changed my diet and took off all 35 pounds - then an unexpected thing happened - I rediscovered my joy of running. I now love it more than ever! My mission is to inspire and motivate people to run to live a long and healthy life and outrun Father Time.” He joined me this week to tell me more.        Instagram: @barry_s_karch Listen: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/running-for-your-life/id1677774768
As a manager if your desire is to be effective you must ask yourself one fundamental question.  How much do you value the contributions of those you oversee leading?  The answer to this question will determine your longevity as a leader.  Business News Daily reports: Additionally, lack of employee engagement in the workplace contributes to retention challenges: 62 percent of employers say they struggle to keep employees engaged and productive. The amazing thing about our body is it’s a tremendous gauge of pain and tolerance.  How much we can endure or how much assistance we need to manage it.  To provide some context to our conversation here’s a note from Statistics Canada on the matter. More than half (59.7%) of Canadians aged 12 years and older rated their general health as very good or excellent in 2021. While self-rated general health has remained relatively stable since 2015, the proportion of people reporting very good or excellent mental health decreased from 72.4% in 2015 to 59.0% in 2021.  Greg Stern is a Physiotherapist and “I am the owner of From the Ground Up Physiotherapy. I help people get to the root cause of their pain by teaching people to move their entire body in new ways to wake up dormant muscles and movement patterns. Rather than solely focusing on the site of pain, I teach the body to work as a whole to finally give the site of pain a chance to recover as it now can work together with the body rather than against it. With From the Ground Up, my chief mission is to help guide people through their own path of self-discovery on their health journeys and guide people to not only be pain-free, but to thrive in their everyday lives. I help people see that injuries are not only a process of recovery, but discovery; an opportunity to learn, be curious, to better understand your body, to correct issues, improve efficiency and performance and tap into potential you never knew you had!” “In 2013, at the age of 19, I sustained an ankle injury that would forever change my life. What appeared to be a routine ankle sprain developed into a chronic problem that caused me constant foot, hip and back pain. For 5 years, I suffered from a constant buzzing discomfort that affected me physically and mentally. It took me to some dark places not being able to do the things I loved at such a young age when I used to be so active and capable. At the time, I was aiming for medical school, but felt numb and couldn't focus on anything but healing from the injury. So I decided to switch directions altogether and got myself a Masters in Physical Therapy at McGill University. I became OBSESSED with understanding how the body moves and have spent thousands of hours and dollars experimenting and learning from the best therapists and movement coaches from around the world. I chipped away slowly at my problems every day, constantly experimenting, and incrementally making more and more progress.”   He joined me this week to tell me more.     Follow: @groundupphysio Discover More: https://linktr.ee/groundupphysio
When was the last time you took a moment to honestly challenge yourself to believe in your own abilities to prosper and thrive?  For you must  be willing to set your own standard and live up to the best version of you.  However, according to Psychology Today and Medium they jointly report between 85-88% of people don’t take a leap of faith or risk in life because they lack self-confidence.  Chris Gormley, a dynamic force at 34 years old, embodies the essence of resilience, determination, and the unwavering pursuit of personal growth.   Raised solely by his mother in challenging circumstances, Chris's childhood was marked by financial hardship. Moving frequently and relying on food stamps, he learned the value of perseverance and hard work from an early age. Throughout his youth, he immersed himself in martial arts, cultivating discipline and tenacity that would shape his future.   While in college, Chris juggled a job selling phones and being a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, while pursuing a degree in sales and business marketing. After graduating, he moved to Southern California and entered the medical device sales industry.   In 2015, Chris faced a near-tragic motorcycle accident when an SUV unexpectedly crossed his path at highway speeds. The collision left him with a shattered pelvis, severe abdominal muscle tears, and multiple injuries, necessitating extensive rehabilitation and the arduous task of relearning to walk. Remarkably, within a year, Chris made a full recovery, emerging from this life-altering experience with a renewed sense of purpose.   Driven by a burning desire for financial independence and freedom, Chris founded his real estate investment company, Network Ventures Inc., in 2020 and left his $250k/year medical device career just 30 days after launching his company. Within 6 months of its inception, he scaled the business to manage 8 property flips concurrently and embarked on the development of a $30 million commercial project. In the first 12 months Chris raised $2 million, and over the course of 3 short years, he has raised more than $4 million in funding, marking a remarkable ascent in the world of commercial real estate.   In 2017, the birth of his daughter added even more depth to his purpose. Chris's extraordinary life journey, shaped by hardship, recovery, and unyielding ambition, compelled him to answer a higher calling. He felt a profound responsibility to share his story, inspire others to realize their true potential, and help them align with their unique paths.   Beyond his professional endeavors, Chris cherishes his role as a father and spends quality time with his 6-year-old daughter. He finds solace and exhilaration in fitness, adventure-seeking activities, and travel. Chris’ commitment to meaningful relationships underscores his belief in the importance of surrounding oneself with those who matter most and those on a mission to win in life.  He joined me this week to tell me more.   Follow: @thechrisgormley     For those of you, who fall into this category I want to take a moment to introduce you to Chris Gormley.
As a business owner or entrepreneur when was the last time you paid any attention to the Know, Like and Trust factor of your consumers or customer base?   Because after all, it’s the lifeblood of your existence and your connection to being sustainable and connecting with people from a marketing perspective.  If you need statistical evidence to support the claim, I just made I came ready and loaded for bear.    According to Nielsen, in its global Trust in Advertising Study in 2021, which surveyed 40,000 across 56 countries, 88% of consumers said that they trusted recommendations from people they know, above all other forms of marketing messaging. The birth of a child ought to be one of the most exhilarating experiences in any parents’ lives. It should be a joyful and memorable time.  However, babies born with birth defects is more common than you think. Birth defects affect 1 in every 33 babies born in the United States each year. That translates into about 120,000 babies. Each year, total hospital costs for U.S. children and adults with birth defects exceed $23 billion, not including outpatient care or many provider charges, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.   Gina Mundy is an attorney that specializes in childbirth cases. She has dedicated the last two decades to this work.  Throughout her career Gina has traveled nationwide, engaging with healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, and midwives to explore all aspects of labor and delivery. These interactions have provided her with invaluable insights, enabling her to appreciate the diverse perspectives prevalent in different regions of the country. Meeting with experts from various states, she has explored and analyzed the myriad of issues that can arise during labor and delivery, impacting both mother and baby. Gina has conducted extensive research, meticulously analyzing, and dissecting countless studies pertaining to childbirth. This rigorous process was essential in equipping her with the necessary knowledge to undertake lengthy cross-examinations of a diverse array of experts. Through these examinations, she skillfully discerns their opinions on the errors that have occurred during labor and delivery. “I authored the book "A Parent's Guide to Safer Childbirth" to help parents avoid these mistakes and complications and have a healthy baby. Let me ask you a pertinent question about the commodity of time.  How much of it do you invest in your own personal development?  I pose the question because the mental side of growth only occurs when you make a premium investment in your own story. Because you see, life isn’t  a full time contract, it does eventually for all of us have an expiration date.  Making it a key facet of any life to maximize individual potential before you attempt to satisfy any outside expectations.  For Elite Mental, physical coach, and entrepreneur Owen Santos:    “I was born unable to breath due to severe asthma. Grew up on every sort of heavy medication known at the time, couldn't run, couldn't play outside or anything "normal" kids were doing. When I was 10, doctors said I would never play sports or have a normal life. Even when I was "healthy" just getting out of breath would cripple me. Then when I got sick, it was 10x worse and I would end up in the hospital. I asked the doctor how to never see him again and he laughed at me, told me he would see me every year. I committed wholly to never getting sick again that day and started lifting weights, dropped sugar, and processed food from my diet. Then dove into peak performance whole heartedly. At 10 years old. This taught me a special kind of system. It helped me become a college basketball player, elite salesperson, high level leader and builder of the people I work with. The level of perspective that I now carry is the gift that I was given. Lack of arrogance towards the opportunity we all have every day is one of my favorite practices, to teach and topics to discuss. “  He joined me this week to tell me more.   For more information: https://teamolympus.net/ Instagram:  @olympusleaders
