Description

Fire up your Bunsen burners and join award-winning comedian Laura Lexx as she attempts to pass her Science GCSEs (all over again) with the help of nerdy younger brother, Ron.

Every week the squabbling siblings dissect a topic from the baddest educational document on the planet - the UK’s National Curriculum.

Microbiology, magnetism, manganese…can long-suffering Ron explain atomic structures or will Laura be forever banging her head against the periodic table?

Whether you love thermodynamics - or ridiculous family dynamics - Lexx Education takes you back to your school days to find out whether it’s possible to relearn your GCSEs…or be forever doomed to looking things up on Wikipedia.

Wow, classic but modern energy to this episode. It's a slight re-do episode through nobody's fault and the science siblings are swinging wildly between best buds ever and fractious as all hell. Laura forgets the word carbon, Ron gets cross, they chat, they ask the big questions like "how long does a horse last?" and they get the job done! Inorganic ions is the topic, as if that wasn't obvious, Laura doesn't seem to know what an ion is or the difference between it and iron. But that's fine. Enjoy you sexy thing you. This week, like the algae on Washington DCs reflection pool, we're covering water. Ron is desperate to get through the last of this section of science and Laura manages to valiantly remember what a molecule is for the first time in 4 years. Progress. We look at properties of water, we sing, we discuss a potential animal uprising, we consider life on earth and Laura solves a huge question mark about lizards. We hope you enjoy this episode! It's a history episode today! Everyone loves history! We're finishing off the age of exploration with a shallow dive into Francis Drake and some other swashbuckling colonialists. Ron & Laura are in the second half of a double record and they a still chatty and gabby and scatty and all over the place although I think some good content is gone over. What's your drag name? Whose your favourite sexer in the city? What your favourite way of projecting the surface of a sphere onto a flat shape? Let us know on socials and on the Discord and we'll give you an audio hug. Hello science fans! Hello non-science fans who like sibling squabbling! Hello people who just like hiding in a corner of the world that is shambolic and real. There we go, apart from the science fans, that's our demographic covered. This week we actually do some science! Ron is keen to get ATP covered and between constant diversions including tomato allergies, a mole pirate, a neurodivergency assessment and the way AI will kill us all, Laura actually puts in some pretty decent learning. Laura and Ron give it everything they've got. Is it because they're keen to get this recording done and move on to Gilmore Girls on the patreon? Maybe. Who can tell. Either way, it's science now but history next week and we hope you enjoy this happy little episode. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It's another episode of Lexx Conversation today as there is literally no science to be found anywhere. Your favourite podcasters go down memory lane discussing weird things that happen at school in the UK, especially regional differences in vocab, and basically just kind of what they've been up to recently. Apologies for the unexplained hiatus last week, it just happened. Laura is exceedingly busy at the moment. What do you call plimsoles? Did you ever have to wear your dad's shirt backwards as a painting smock? Have you ever been on holiday somewhere? Let us know! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
