Description

Life won’t wait - we get one shot - and you are in the driver's seat.

You can Do Hard Things.

I’m Danni Duncan…featured fitness and nutrition coach, author, speaker and mum of 4 amazing kiddies (including twins).

Online I’ve shared it all, my pregnancy journeys, miscarriages, why you SHOULDN’T be eating cereal for breakfast, how to make the perfect sourdough and helping you to see that YOU can do hard things.

The things I’ve said online have often got me into a bit of trouble, and its because I’m not afraid to call people out on their shit … I’m not afraid to discuss taboo topics and I don’t believe that any of us need to live an average life where we do what society is telling us is ‘normal’ … instead its our job to question “Why is that normal?” And is that what we want for our own life?

This podcast is going to be a space where I chat to experts (and share my own thoughts) on WHY we aren’t living our full potential.

Where you can get the facts that will help you to get your happiness, motivation and confidence back.

Taking the first steps can be hard, but I’m here to help you make it a little easier to face your fears and live your best life - every, single, day.

I will make you feel uncomfortable, I will make you think differently but you may just wanna hear it.

If you want to make this year the year that you do something for yourself, you’re in the right space.

We've never been more connected. A text, a voice drop, a scroll, and we know exactly what everyone in our life is doing without ever actually seeing them. So why, when it actually comes to showing up in person, committing to a night out, being in someone's presence, does it suddenly feel like the hardest ask in the world? That's the question I've been sitting with. And it came from something pretty humbling. Chris and I planned a trivia night in Melbourne to raise money for the Jodi Lee Foundation ahead of our New York Marathon. We were pumped. We throw a good night, always have. We sold four tickets. Four. Everyone said they were coming. Nobody actually committed. We had to cancel it.Turns out it's not just us. The Jodi Lee team told me events are hard right now. Everyone I've spoken to says the same thing, retreats, trivia nights, get-togethers, all getting cancelled because people just aren't showing up.So I started thinking about my parents. Monthly dinner parties. Getting dressed up. Actual hors d'oeuvres. Staying up late listening to the adults laugh through the wall. We don't do that anymore. And I don't think it's just busyness. I think we're socially burnt out, so wired into everyone's lives that we've mistaken being informed for actually being connected.I get into why I quit the news two years ago, the real upside of social media I'm not willing to throw out, and whether we've traded connection for the feeling of it.This one's more of a conversation starter than an answer. I want to know what you reckon. My final retreat of 2026 is coming up next month and there are just a few spaces left! Don’t miss your chance to join me and a group of incredible women in the gorgeous BlueGreen Sanctuary in Byron Bay for 3 nights of beautiful food, mindset and nutrition workshops, yoga, relaxation and more! 2 out of 3 Australian women report bias or discrimination in their own healthcare. Most of it around diagnosis and treatment. If you've ever left an appointment with more questions than answers, this episode is for you.My guest today is Dr Mariam Chaalan, a Sydney based GP, women's health advocate, and the doctor behind Instagram's Ask The Doctor. She also cohosts the Well by Mamamia Podcast. The second we met in person we didn't stop talking, because we see healthcare the exact same way.We get into why so many women are conditioned to shrink their symptoms in a fifteen minute appointment, the exact script to use so you walk out with an actual plan instead of just a script in hand, and the iron deficiency conversation every woman needs to have with her doctor (hint, it's not always your period).Dr Mariam also shares the story of a GP visit at four years old that made her furious enough to become a doctor herself, and why that moment still shapes the way she treats every single patient today. If you've ever been told it's nothing and walked away not quite believing it, get comfortable. This one's for you.Find Dr Mariam on Instagram and TikTokIf you need a push to take control of your health - download my app FIT by Danni Duncan or sign up for coaching.I also share all of my health and fitness tips over on IG @‌danni.duncan_ so if you want more, make sure you join me over there. This is the episode I told my own team I might get cancelled for, and I don't care. For twenty years, doctors told me I had IBS. Cramps so bad I thought labour couldn't be worse. Crawling into my mum's room as a kid, thinking something was actually wrong with me. Turns out something was. Pregnant with my fourth baby, that same "IBS" turned out to be a tumour.I'm in remission now. And since finishing chemo, my IBS hasn't just improved. It's gone. Vanished. Not managed, not "under control", gone.Bowel cancer is now up 260% in eighteen to forty five year olds. Once you see a number like that, you can't unsee it, and once you hear my story next to it, you'll understand exactly why I can't stop talking about this.So here's the question I'm not supposed to ask out loud: what if IBS isn't a diagnosis at all? What if it's just the label they give you when they've run out of answers, and your gut is drowning in the same ultra-processed bullshit we've all been told is normal?I know how this sounds. I know "everything in moderation" is the thing you're about to type at me. Listen first, then tell me I'm wrong.I also share all of my health and fitness tips over on IG @‌danni.duncan_ so if you want more, make sure you join me over there. There's a kind of trauma that doesn't have a name yet. Birth trauma finally gets talked about. Postpartum depression finally gets talked about. But feeding trauma, what happens when your feeding journey ends in a way you never chose, still isn't validated. Nicola D'Souza is a breastfeeding counsellor and infant feeding practitioner on a mission to change that.Nicola's own feeding trauma began in NICU. She shares the story of a nurse who put her premature daughter's feeding tube back in without her there, and fed her formula despite a freezer full of Nicola's own breast milk. "I felt something snap inside me." What followed was PTSD, panic attacks, and a physical anxiety response that lasted months. But feeding trauma isn't only a breastfeeding story. Nicola's worked with mums who bottle fed by choice and still felt robbed of that experience, with mums of teenagers still carrying it from when their babies were tiny, and with women processing it thirty years later. This one is personal for me too, and it's not the first time. I've had feeding trauma more than once with my own kids, but the hardest was having to stop breastfeeding London during chemo, something I still find hard to say out loud. We get into the donated milk, wanting her to relatch, and the moment Nicola told me something about what my body was still doing for me mid-chemo that I did not see coming. If you've ever felt like your feeding story doesn't get to count as trauma, this one's for you.You can find Nicola on Instagram @‌infantfeedingcoach.jersey, or through her website here,I also share all of my health and fitness tips over on IG @‌danni.duncan_ so if you want more, make sure you join me over there. Aneliese was fit, confident, and in the Air Force in her twenties. Then came two kids, a caking business, and in November 2022, a cancer diagnosis. Eighteen months of chemo, surgery and radiation later, she'd beaten it. But what came next was harder than the diagnosis itself. She describes it as climbing straight out of one well into another. The first was cancer, forcing her to fight to survive. The second had no doctors, no urgency, nothing forcing her to move at all, and that's where she got stuck, leaning on wine, then gin, and junk food just to get through the day. Until her husband said five words that changed everything: you don't love yourself anymore.Ten months into the Vitality Project, Aneliese is twenty kilos down, and the real work happened long before it ever showed on the scales. We talk about the four week plateau nobody warns you about, why she said no to a GLP-1, and what it actually took to fall back in love with herself. If you've ever felt stuck at the bottom of your own well, this one's for you.If you need a push to take control of your health, download my app FIT by Danni Duncan https://fitbydanniduncan.com/ If you're ready to make epic changes our express coaching No More Mondayz is open to start 1 September.
