Today we continue our series, sponsored by the University of Dallas: "A Knight for Truth," examining the life and thought of Dietrich von Hildebrand.
In this episode, Lily continues to discuss Hildebrand’s perspective on love, emphasizing that true love involves perceiving the beauty of the beloved and responding with a desire to fully give oneself to the beloved. She also discusses Hildebrand’s recognition of the limitations of purely human love and the tragic element that derives from our finite and vulnerable nature. In contrast to this, Lily shows how only supernatural love, grounded in the mystery of the Holy Trinity, can fully satisfy the human heart's longing for eternal union with the beloved.
