And this week I am doing something a little different on YouTube. I am going to be posting reality tv rant reviews, because I have watched some pretty messy ones recently and I have a lot to say. Don’t worry there will still be plenty of bookish content as well! This past week has been a pretty busy one for me I have been moving and applying for jobs, which can feel like a full time job. And on top of that I found two new hobbies to obsess over. I love a good hobby and if it include crafts, that is a BONUS for me. So my new obsessions are Bullet Journaling and Budgeting. I have gone down the YouTube habit hole of bullet journaling and cash stuffing/budgeting. So I am going to try out a few of the systems and methods that the youtubers are doing but on a much more basic beginner scale. I’m really just looking at different ways to be productive to just switch up my life a little bit for the last four months the year. START NOW! Whatever that one things is that you have been thinking about doing but for all the reasons have not gotten around to doing it. Let this be a little motivation from me to you to just GO! BE GREAT! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ciara-jones3/support

In this episode I am giving a summary and review of the memoir I Am These Truths by Sunny Hostin.  For more pictures and off the cuff content follow me on my other socials: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bookishciara/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@bookishciara Weekly Newsletter (Aug 28-Sep 3, 2022) Dear Intergalactic Supernovas, We are entering another week of living and I am grateful for it! If you find your self reading this right now I just want to say thank you and we are making it through. In these weekly newsletters I’m going to reflect on the past week and the week ahead. Since July 20, 2022 I have been posting every single day on my book social media channels and I am proud of that! I have found a community where I can engage with others who like and enjoy the same things I do and this community is also introducing me to so many new literary works. My mind is expanding and I am becoming consistent with my work which will always be a win. This week you can expect some fun videos on what I have be watching on the streaming services (reality shows!). Along with regular book updates of what I am reading now. I am doing a chapter by chapter review of Babel by R.F. Kuang on my TikTok (@bookishciara) that has been a lot of fun. Last week I read I Am These Truths by Sunny Hostin and By the Book by Jasmine Guillory so expect new podcast episodes on those books this Tuesday and Thursday. This past week I learned and put into practice that once you get over the mental hump your routine will be so much easier. I gave myself a goal of going to one dance class a day for ten days. After two days I was ready to reward myself with a day off because I felt like I deserved it after two days of going to dance class. My body didn’t hurt, I wasn’t sore, I just didn’t want to do anything on that day three. My mind was telling me to not go and stay in the house and do nothing, but then I realized that that is my actually habit, that is what I am used to and what I’m comfortable with. One day off will turn into two days into a month because that is what I am used to. So this is when my body took over and I had to shut off the voices in my brain working to convince me to relax on my goal and my body had to just do the work to put on my dance clothes, pack my bag, sign up for class, etc. And I went to class. And then day 4-7 I didn’t even second guess for one second going to class, it became so much easier to get up and go. Many of use give up at the smallest inconvenience that may not even be an inconvenience and that could be what stands in the way between us a greatness. Let’s be great this week! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ciara-jones3/support

In this episode I am going into detail about the romance novel It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. Here's what it's about: This book is The Simple Life meets HGTV meets Dangerous Catch. Rich girl Piper gets hit with a reality check when she is forced to move to her parents hometown to look after a bar. While she is trying to escape her new uncomfortable surroundings she starts to learn more about her family history through the people in town and she catches the hottest fish or shall I call him a shark, no he is Captain Brenden. 5/5 stars ⭐️. I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun time. Everything was pretty basic and straight forward as far as characters and plot are concerned but I was entertained. This is a fluffy read nothing too deep about it. Piper, our leading lady, was cool and multidimensional. Captain Brenden, was EVERYTHING and more. Tessa Bailey knows what the people want, and that is a big, strong man who knows what he wants. The smut hit in this book. I don’t think I read a book with this much smut in it since Ice Planet Barbarians, I know it is not the smuttiest out there but it was still good for me. Also the Act 3 conflict that happens in RomComs didn’t drag at for a long time, which I appreciated. I highly recommend this book for adults to read before the summer ends. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ciara-jones3/support
In this episode I am breaking down Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin. I am reading you the synopsis of the book along with my rating and Spoiler free review. Then later on in the episode (you will get a warning) I am going to give my best play by play of the book full of spoilers and what I believed happened in these pages. I hope you enjoy. Maybe you'll have another book to add to your TBR by the end.   --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ciara-jones3/support

The Introduction

Like Queen Bey said we are in our Renaissance Era. So welcome to my new podcast. My name is Ciara and I love to read and I want to share my passion for books with the world on every platform that I can. However, what I like to do even more than read is to talk about books and low key spoil them. So if you want to get into reading but don't know where to start or don't want to waste your time then search no further. I am going to give you a little sample of the books I'm reading and then what I thought about the books. And then I will go into spoilers and discourse for those listeners who have already read the book or for the listeners who don't care because they know they're not going to read the book. I plan to upload every Tuesday and Thursday. Enjoy and Happy Reading! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ciara-jones3/support
