A sleepy fairy tale about a good-hearted girl who finds a secret hidden in a pot of pink flowers.  There are so many flowers blooming on the mountain right now. A pretty purple and white one called pussy ears came up this week. I posted a couple of pictures of it on the blog at https://www.listentosleep.com/blog/pussy-ears/ if you want to see what they look like.  If the podcast helps you sleep and you’d like to support my dream of being your bedtime storyteller for my retirement one day, please consider becoming a patron at https://patreon.com/listentosleep. A beautifully descriptive, slice-of-life story from Katherine Mansfield about childhood innocence and caring for your neighbors.  Innocence, or collinsia heterophylla, is also the name of one of my favorite flowers, and they just started blooming up here on the mountain. Purple and white, they are a little less than a foot tall and look like tiny pagodas. You can see some pictures I took on the blog at https://www.listentosleep.com/blog/innocence/.  If the podcast helps you sleep and you’d like to support my dream of being your bedtime storyteller for my retirement one day, please consider becoming a patron at https://www.listentosleep.com/support. A sleepy fairy tale about a young orphaned prince and princess and the little bird who helps them finally find their home.  One of my favorite migratory birds, the black-headed grosbeaks, have returned to the mountain. Their song is as beautiful as their plumage, so I recorded it and put it in the podcast this week to share it with you. There's also a picture of the bird who's singing it on my blog at https://www.listentosleep.com/blog/black-headed-grosbeak/ if you want to see what he looks like.  If the podcast helps you sleep and you’d like to support my dream of being your bedtime storyteller for my retirement one day, please leave a review or consider becoming a patron at https://www.listentosleep.com. A sleepy 19th century Russian satire written as a fairy tale in which two helpless government officials are saved by a hard-working muzhik. Bodhi and I ran across a patch of canyon larkspur on a hike this week, and when I went to find out more about it, it led me down an amazing internet rabbit hole filled with information about the Yuki Native Americans, this land's original inhabitants. You can see pictures of the canyon larkspur flowers and find links to studies of Yuki uses for our native plants and vivid stories of their culture on my blog at https://www.listentosleep.com/blog/canyon-larkspur/. I have severe PTSD one of my triggers is peoples voices because I was abused and traumatized by many people. So when I hear certain voices I go into a panic attack. I have certain parts of my mind that are still child like so stories help that have to be fairytale like. I tried so many sleep story apps and podcasts as well as a few audiobooks but all of then somehow triggered me. Then I found this one! See sometimes I go days without sleeping well so on my 2nd night of no sleep one time I found this podcast. And it changed my life. His voice feels like the voice of a Grandfather that protects his Grandchildren for some reason that’s the feeling I get listening. With in 10 min of my first story “The Green Knight” I slept the best I have in years and no night terrors. I know there are people out there like me and I hope they find this podcast. Thank you Erik Ireland for making me feel safe so my brain will give me some peace.

I love listen to sleep! I have been listening since the inception and it really is the one thing that guarantees I will fall asleep. I've listened to some of the stories dozens of times and still have not heard the end. some people might not love the incompletion of that but I love that there's this mystery at the end of many of these stories I've yet to hear!

I had Podcoin before Castbox, and I listened to this podcast there. It really does help me fall asleep, while it's a shame Podcoin is closing down, I'm just happy to find this podcast elsewhere. Thank you so much for creating this podcast show as it is very soothing.
