Takeaways:
· Without fear you don’t get the chance to be
brave
· Bravery isn’t something you have to do or become-
it’s just showing up and doing it
· It’s ok to be a scaredy cat.
· It’s not always a big step, it’s a small step towards
doing the thing.
· Noticing that sometimes our inner beliefs need some
rewiring. That we are worthy and that we get to define who we are.
Join Michele Jones and her special guest Jeanette DuBois as they discuss how they met, their Italy experience, and the lessons they took away from the trip. They also discuss the lessons that unfolded for them when they got home and how those continue to show up in their lives.
During her journey, she discovered this incredible connection to herself and fell back in love with the person she had become. She realized it was an opportunity to let go of the stress, fears, and worries that piled up over the last couple of years, the pandemic, social justice, and global issues. She also realized that many of her lessons were unpacked when she got home over time.
The takeaways are:
Get back in touch with yourself and love yourself
Realize that fear is just an emotion and that you can move past it
The lessons were about acceptance – accepting herself and
her life and the world around her
Embracing excitement about life in spite of the difficult times we experience. (especially grief and the loss of loved ones)
Allow yourself to get back into life and live it!
You can still start today, it's not too late.

Welcome to the Live Less Afraid podcast, where your host Michele Jones explores what makes us happy and what we waste emotional energy on. Today I will walk you through a couple of exercises to help you discover how and why we waste energy on things beyond our control or that do not serve any purpose in our lives. I’ll also share how these impact our decisions to live in joy and happiness, why we need to discover those things, and how to start doing the work to get there.
Here are a few examples of ways we waste energy instead of focusing on what makes us happy and doing that.
1. Dwelling on the past: Spending too much time thinking about the mistakes we made or the things have done differently in the
past can be a huge emotional drain. It's important to learn from the past but not get stuck in it.
2. Comparing ourselves to others: Constantly comparing ourselves to others can lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. It's important to focus on our own journey and progress, rather than constantly looking at what others are doing.
3. Worrying about the future: While it's important to plan for the future, worrying too much about what may or may not happen can be exhausting and counterproductive. It's important to focus on the present moment and take things one step at a time.
4. Holding grudges: Holding onto grudges and negative feelings towards others can consume a lot of emotional energy and prevent us from moving forward. It's important to practice forgiveness and let go of any negativity that's weighing us down.
5. Overthinking: Overanalyzing situations and trying to anticipate every possible outcome can be mentally exhausting. It's
important to trust our instincts and not get bogged down in endless analysis.
By being aware of these emotional energy drains, we can work towards minimizing their impact on our lives and
focusing our energy on things that truly matter. Trust that everything works out for you, work on your mindset, and shift your thoughts to things that
serve us.
