We Interview the Peerless Pirates at Hackney Road Studios.
The Scratch deliver an exclusive set of live tracks from the hallowed halls of Hackney Road Studios. There is also an extensive interview where the band share the stories behind the brand new album, The Great Escape, available now from www.thescratch.co.uk
We've been listening to your feedback so this one's for you guys. The Forum took a break this week as we ventured over to Hackney Road Studios for live sessions from Adam Barker and Peerless Pirates all courtesy of the magnificent Steve Honest. So, now begins the perfect pocket-sized show - don't forget that the annual Recharged Radio survey is still going - get involved and you too can make a difference!
After viewing the statue of Prince Albert in Hyde Park, Jamie ponders the merits of painting himself gold, sitting on a plinth and surrounding himself with an angry crowd of plasticine figurines thus becoming a living monument to himself.Jordan thinks that the best thing to do in these circumstance is to give Jamie a ludicrously long cable and sends him off to chat to the fantastic artists hiding in the corridors of Mr Honest's Hackney Road Studios. First live set comes from Abby Holden (abbyholden.com) where she discusses her current single "Everything" (available from iTunes & Amazon now!), the new album, being re-acquainted with her JD and, after a little Jamie-infused confusion, the potential of a new concept album/side project called "Stranger Fiction".The second hour at Hackney Road sees a performance from the very exciting and very new Legend in Japan (www.reverbnation.com/legendinjapan). They've only been going for a couple of weeks but their momentum is unquestionably full throttle; much like Spinal Tap, they've already lost/killed a bassist. Shabby, Pyro and Martin show just what you can achieve in such a short space of time with some punk ethics and crazy energies. We don't think this will be the last your hear from them!!"Bibelots - The Revolution Will Be DigitisedTree hopping - everglades glitter darkONTHE88 - Cruisin' PCHBen Drake - To Be CompleteThe Black Stars - Read My LipsFreakish Atlantic - EstherBen Drake - Would You Take Me HomeVigo Thieves - Wide AwakeAlice Amelia - We've ForgottenBlack Circles - EscapeBig Deal - Distant NeighbourhoodPlatform Location - CandlelightAbby Holden - EverythingModel Society - HORIZON (Master)Bill Hooper - HiveThe Vinyl Junkies - Misery LaneRoman Foot Soldiers - WaterfrontThe Midnights - Heart BreakerBen Drake - You Left Me No IllusionJs For Days - Hot, Hot MessBibelots - The Revolution Will Be DigitisedOut Like a Lion - Little Bit Of LoveCasablanca Sunshine - I Get AroundRat Bat Blue - Rock StarBen Drake - It Don't Come Free
