Today, as we unpack 1 Kings 17: 17-24, we learn that Elijah trusts God for miracles even in the face of terrible tragedy. The message? If you and I are going to grow in faith in this life, then no matter what happens... no matter our suffering, our trials, our woes... we must trust with all our heart that every word the Lord says is true.
The will of God absolutely includes tests of believing, and of hard refining. But armed with faith, Elijah discovers that God always mercifully provides saving sustenance when the lesson is learned.
Psalm 16 reveals the key to the life of true contentment. Through David's complete dependence on and his intimate relationship with God, he has discovered confidence and peace. This results from a heart that is totally surrendered to the Lord and a life devoted to pursuing Him first above all things. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied". Seek first Christ and his righteousness and find the satisfied life!

Do you live your life by the Spirit or by the flesh? What does living by the Spirit mean? Galatians 5:16 tells us if walk by the Spirit, we will not gratify the desires of the flesh. It is the power of the Spirit living in true Christ-followers that enables us to battle sin, to grow in holiness and to sustain us in our walk of sanctification. Take heart and be encouraged knowing that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is alive, powerful, available and at work in all those who have put their faith in Christ.

Does your life in Christ look different today than it did a year ago? Are you growing closer to Him—or drifting further away? In this final message of the series, we reflect on the closing verses of Malachi. Here, God calls His people to turn their hearts away from the empty temptations of the world—things that ultimately lead to a life without purpose. Instead, He invites us to turn our hearts toward Him. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
What does it mean to fear the name of the Lord? In the NIV translation of the Bible, the word fear is often translated as reverence—a posture of awe, honor, and worship before the one true God. In the book of Malachi, we’re given a beautiful promise: those who revere His holy name will be cherished and deeply loved by Him. The Lord listens and remembers all who honour and esteem His great name. How awesome and faithful is our God!
