Description

After a nearly a decade of observing online internet literary spaces - Tyler Burn, from Tulsa Oklahoma, interviews a vast array of different artists, writers and poets. It's so odd writing about myself in third person. I feel so serious. This show isn't that serious. Just hanging out with writers. Yah.

Hell Yeah Brunch

Hell Yeah Brunch

2025-12-0302:04:57

Rachelle Toarmino, Aidan Ryan, Gion Davis, Julianne Neely, Joshua Thermidor, Tim Livingston, and Spencer Williams all read today on a reading to celebrate Hell Yeah. Several of us including Rachelle Toarmino were pregnant and we held a brunch to celebrate her new poetry book, Hell Yeah by Third Man Books. Hell Yeah, Rachelle Toarmino’s fourth poetry collection might also be Rachelle's sixth book of poetry. It's almost confusing. Rachelle Toarmino is a pregnant poet from Niagara Falls, New York. She is the author of the poetry collections Hell Yeah and That Ex, as well as several chapbooks, most recently My Science, winner of the 2024 Sixth Finch Chapbook Contest. Her work has appeared in Poets.org, Literary Hub, Electric Literature, American Poetry Review, Bennington Review, Southeast Review, The Slowdown, and Omnidawn, which awarded her its 2024 Single Poem Broadside Prize. She earned her MFA in poetry at UMass Amherst, where she received an Academy of American Poets Prize.

Zac Smith and Cav return to the show; however, Cav never showed up. Zac Smith and I recorded a show by ourselves. It was a fine lackadaisical back and forth. We ended up with a two hour heavy and intense back and forth thing. Everything Is Totally Fine was published by Muumuu house. We speak about Fresh, Green Life by Sebastian Castillo. We spoke about Cav's girlfriend. No edits. Raw analog audio. I intend for you to listen to the show on the toilet while you're on the toilet

On this episode of Lo Fi Lit, I invited Mesha Maren onto the show to discuss her involvement with Zona Motel - a literary brotherhood on substack. For people who adore, admire and are all about talking about cool ass books. So okay, she's written three novels - Shae, Perpetual West and Sugar Run. We discuss her background and coming up from a small town, activism and entering into a wrestling ring for research on a character. This was a dope episode.
