Local Government Climate Planning - Complete Streets for Los Angeles

Each can be reached by clicking the appropriate tab below. 1. Complete Streets for Los Angeles (February 25th Conference in Downtown LA). Complete streets enable safe and comfortable access for all users on both streets and sidewalks in a way that promotes vibrant, healthy, active, and sustainable neighborhoods. This one-day event brought together civic leaders, researchers, and community organizers to articulate a vision for complete streets and explore how to achieve this vision in Los Angeles. -- 2. Measuring Progress towards Transportation GHG Goals (March 5 2010 Symposium at UCLA). A discussion of topics such as modeling GHGs from transportation, attributing emissions to localities and specific projects, and improving research methods to strengthen future modeling abilities. -- 3. Fall 2009 Lecture Series - Perspectives on Local Climate Planning Leading academics, policymakers, and practitioners discuss how cities, counties, and regions can meet the challenges of mitigating and adapting to climate change. -
