Hi there, a quick update from Luke on Local Trouble - we've moved to our parent feed at One Sensational Shot. We'll still keep talking Star Wars, but it's way easier to manage one feed. We've chatted at 20 years of the Phantom Menace, remembered Peter Mayhew, and asked 'is Anakin the Chosen One?'.
You can listen on iTunes here, Spotify here, and Stitcher right here.
Let us know what you think - and can't wait to chat Rise of Skywalker with you!
James returns from watching the London Symphony Orchestra put in a sterling performance of the original Star Wars film's score live in concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
We chat about what makes the score so powerful live as well as covering the latest Darth Vader release from Marvel and Resistance from Lucasfilm Animation.
Let us know if you caught the concert in London, or if that new Dark Vader comic left you cold - get in touch on Twitter, Facebook, and don’t forget to leave a review on iTunes.
We catch up on the latest TV series to come out of Lucasfilm Animation, Star Wars: Resistance.

We are all standing on the shoulders of giants. And Gary Kurtz was a giant. He worked with George Lucas on American Graffiti, one of the greatest films ever made. And then he worked on Star Wars - one of the other greatest films ever made.
He helped to define the Force, he helped to manage the deals that meant George got to do business the way he wanted to.
We remember his wonderful legacy on this podcast. And yes, the Wheelers from Walter Murch's Return to Oz get a mention.
Elsewhere, we catch on on Solo now it's seen it's home video release, and we've had a few weeks to get in some further viewings.

Back in 1978, when The Empire Strikes Back was simply called 'Star Wars II', sci-fi author Leigh Brackett handed George Lucas a first draft of the script that was very different to the movie we'd see on screen. Many of the main story beats remain in her first take on the film, but character, motivation and parental revelations are quite different.
We take a look at the Star Wars sequel that could have been and honour the work of the late Leigh Brackett.
Luke and James also catch up on Marvel's excellent current run of Darth Vader comics with a look at #21, and anticipate the upcoming Star Wars: Resistance in its primary-coloured glory.
Let us know what you think of the Leigh Brackett script on Twitter, Facebook, and don’t forget to leave a review on iTunes.
You can also read the Leigh Brackett first draft of The Empire Strikes Back over at StarWarz.com.
We grab some of the latest Star Wars comics off the shelf to let you know what's going on the the world of Marvel licenced content. We look at the landmark (relatively speaking) Star Wars #50 and what an illustrated Donald Glover looks like in Lando: Double or Nothing.
Luke also reviews some listener feedback from...his brother! It is on some very fun theories on Solo though, so that's fun. Can the five people who saw it get in touch with their thoughts please?
Brace yourselves, this is a big one. 1985 called. They want their news back.

We take a big step back from the flying shrapnel of the fandom fallout and reaffirm our love of a good old fashioned story. James rips from the pages of Joseph Campbell to give his take on Han's journey from the latest origin movie, to the guy we know in the classic trilogy.
Yeah, we cover THAT Ahmed Best tweet too, but mostly we look back at what we love about this crazy, stupid space movie.
MTFBY!

Looks like a whole lot is being said about why this movie isn't making the cash, but what do two other white males who self-publish online think?
Taking advantage to the internet's built-in functionality to distribute unchecked and unsubstantiated information throughout the world instantly; we reflect on what we liked, what we think didn't work and, perhaps most importantly, wonder why that chicken is in the pot anyway.

We've put together all we've learned from the trailers, TV spots and promo videos. Luke has a review of the 'Last Shot' tie-in Han and Lando novel, and we also look at a very interesting behind the scenes article from Variety - which touches on how the production transitioned between Lord-Miller and Howard.

A couple of weeks is a long time in Star Wars land. Now we have a new Star Wars animated show on the way pretty soon, along with a whole new move in three weeks. Luke goes back in time to 1979 to see what Lucas may have been thinking about the Han Solo character, which might propel the new Ron Howard film. We also talk 'Star Wars: Resistance', because that's a thing now.

James also regales us with his designer's insight as to what might have happened with those Solo posters that allegedly look a lot like some French record covers.

We've devoured the latest movie more than once and are here to add to the white noise once again.
In the words of C-3PO, "Here we go again".
There's the critical praise, there's THAT Rotten Tomatoes rating. And, finally, there's the balance.
We attempt to address our raw feelings whilst looking both behind ourselves and firmly towards the future asking, "What does this wonderful series of films mean to us".

On the eve of the release to Episode VIII, Luke and James revisit the soft reboot of the franchise, The Force Awakens.
With only two years having passed since the release of J.J. Abrams’ mini epic, the force is still fresh with this one. We reconsider the new characters, some cracking dialogue and chemistry, along with that completely original and not-at-all-familiar plot.
There’s also more speculation than you can shake a lightsaber at, with The Last Jedi mere days away – which means this is going to be a really funny commentary to listen to very soon.

As they say in Spinal Tap, "...this one goes up to 11". Whatever Star Wars does, Return of the Jedi does bigger! We conclude the classic trilogy era with our commentary track for Episode VI and discuss what creative forces influenced the film and how it shaped the future films to come.
Between Exec Producer George Lucas and director Richard Marquand, Return of the Jedi boasts some of the more personal moments of the saga, but also some of the most bombastic action, adventure and comedy.
Join us as we count down to the The Last Jedi with our commentary series to every film in the saga so far.

Some say Empire is the saga's finest moment and has never been topped. Our commentary marvels at just how they put together such an ambitious sequel for a film that was essentially a pastiche of old movies.
Luke and James managed to get together to record this commentary in person, which made it lots of fun to do in anticipation for the release of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.
We argue about which is better out of Star Wars and Empire, as well as marvel at just how damned beautiful the film can be.
