The Philadelphia 76ers failed to notch back-to-back wins as they lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 119-102. The loss wastes a fantastic effort from six or center Andre Drummond who scored 25 points for the first time in four years while also pulling down 18 rebounds. For most Sixers fans the news of the loss is the easiest pill to swallow, As the Sixers look to keep their top six protected pick in the upcoming NBA draft. However, Tyrese Maxey suffering a lower back contusion and leaving the game midway through the third quarter may be the tougher news to hear. Maxey is listed as day-to-day and will travel to Minnesota for the Sixers’ meeting with the Timberwolves Tuesday night.   Sixers led the game at halftime 61 -56 and seemed to be in control, until the Portland Trail Blazers took over after the break, winning the third quarter by 15 points! The Philadelphia 76ers showed a lot of fight against the New York Knicks but ultimately suffered the same result as they have in their previous 8 games. The Sixers took a 110-105 loss at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night.   After some first half struggles, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George came alive in the second half, include combining for 22 points in the third quarter on their way to a 30-point night and 25-point night respectively. Kelly Oubre finished with 27 points.   The Sixers took their first lead since the 11:02 mark of the opening quarter, when Tyrese Maxey hit a driving layup with 3:59 left in the 4th quarter to give the Sixers a 97-96 edge. The Philadelphia 76ers were BLOWN OUT by the Chicago Bulls, 142-110. The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Brooklyn Nets 105-103 on a buzzer-beating tip-in by Nick Claxton. The Sixers struggled throughout the night but played their best basketball of the evening in the fourth quarter where Joel Embiid did not play a single minute.   For the second straight night the Sixers had Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and Joel Embiid on the court together but the trio did little to prevent the Nets from getting off to a great start, dropping 40 points in the first quarter.
