But Matt think about it at this point in time Mcnair is not going to say something like this hes still trying to make a decision you do not make comments like this if you're the decision maker
No thank you to Victor, our starting shooting guards name is Mitchell
I would take Jabari over Chet. I want the guy that can defend the perimeter and who's better at switching on defense. Chets body type makes me nervous, but I'd take Chet second. I'm only trading it if it's an offer that I can't refuse.
I could tell you what would have happened if Demarcus and Isaiah would have stayed, they both would have gotten injured.
Come on Matt, stop giving draftees even more reasons not to want to come here
Matt I really don't see why you're questioning anything about Davion Mitchell. I'm sorry could you tell me another guy who works as hard as he does and plays defense like him, from day one? I did pay attention to him on those so called days that he disappeared you're talking about a rookie who's trying to find himself who was guarding some of the best offense of players in the world, one on one. Trying to balance that defense and a consistent offense takes years. He did it in a half a season. The reason why I knew he was going to be a star is that his cross over and side step creates the craziest separation and his ability to blow by people and he has perfect form on his shot and likes the midgame. The only thing that surprised me after watching him early were his assistant numbers. He is going to be a star and his 3 point percentage will be at list 39% next year. People are correct, we need shooters. But we have at least two in him and Barnes. I love him as a starter next to F
So if the Kings end up with the 7th pic. I guess I'll have to give up my dreams of Chet or Jabari, thanks Off Night and Damien Jones!! And go with Keegan Murray, but boy he better make sure that outside game continues to develope nice/quickly. Stay playing next to Barnes and stay in great shape. Barnes makes the positions interchangeable. Cause I do not like hearing that a hybrid C/PF is his best position at 6'8 225...Yikes
For me it's the illegal gambling by a referee and throwing out our players in 2002. I wish Timothy Francis Donaghy had never happened.
Matt, I really didn't want this to happen. But have we watched Mitchell go from defensive Shooting Guard to Combo Guard to Point Guard? The issue with Haliburton was that the team was better when he played Point and when he brought up the ball. If this is the case again with Mitchell, then you are correct; one must go. Because Fox is a shell of himself if he is not the primary ball handler. And honestly, once again, I'd rather have Mitchell, better defender, shooter, and passer, then Fox, and he's a rookie, damn!!
Could you imagine Jabari Smith's perimeter defense and shot blocking in the starting lineup with Mitchell!!!
I'd trade Fox for the #1 to get Jabari Smith.
Matt I did not believe that Halliburton and Fox could not play together because I hadn't seen it work. I know it wouldn't work because of the style of players they are. You cannot ask Fox to be shooting guard which he has to be with Haliburton. Fox does not have to be shooting guard with Mitchell because Mitchell's strength is attacking, it's as simple as that. I guess this is more about Fox than it is about the other player. Now the only issue that I see that could pop up is if Mitchell insist on playing point guard. Yes his numbers might go down but that's not the point his assistant's will go down, but we'll be a better team.
Kings fans tend to forget this, young players improve usually so look where the big men are now and think about where they could be
I love all 3 guys love Trey Love Metu love Jones. if I had to trade one or release 1, it would have to be Lance only because the other 2 have a higher ceiling. If I had to choose between both of them, I guess I'd go with Jones.
Great points. Thank you for mentioning our conversation; that was awesome. One thing we have to remember is that Kings are searching for the next 3rd to best player. That makes Mitchell your 4th scorer unless he turns out to be even better. He doesn't need 22 shots. You say Haliburton is a better shooter. We forget Mitchell's is a rookie, and a gym rat. We've seen him take a 2 year leap in 1
Kings need to bench Off Night. He's so good he's killing us!
Not sure how you can say Halliburton and Fox can play together but you're saying that Mitchell and Fox can't play together you gotta completely wrong Mitchell can play with the Fox hes more of a catch and shot guy and he can create his own shot better than Halliburtn, Haliburton was a distributor that had to have the ball in his hands at all times.
King's drop from the 5th to the 9th tonight in my opinion
Yes the starting shooting guard is already on this team. His name is Mitchell.
