Karl-Anthony Towns' early struggles with the New York Knicks this season have sparked debate, but the data tells a different story. Despite shooting just 35% from the field through four games, KAT maintains a plus-9 net rating—a sign his impact extends beyond the box score.Gavin Schall and XJ break down why the Knicks aren't maximizing Towns' elite skill set. They reveal KAT's 99th percentile passing creation quality across the entire NBA, propose specific lineup solutions featuring Deuce McBride, and explain how a Jalen Brunson-Towns partnership could (and should) become one of the league's most dangerous offensive pairings. The discussion covers optimal hub role deployment, strategic counters against teams like the Milwaukee Bucks with multiple big defenders, and why shooting variance guarantees Towns will regress to his career 40% three-point mark.Discover the three-step blueprint for unlocking Karl-Anthony Towns' full potential alongside Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart in New York's revamped system.Timestamps0:00 Intro1:45 What's wrong with Karl-Anthony Towns right now4:33 KAT's positive impact despite shooting struggles6:42 3 steps to optimize Towns' offense8:50 Using KAT as an offensive hub13:01 Towns' elite passing creation quality metrics16:24 Lineup data shows KAT thrives with shooters19:36 Countering defenses that challenge KAT's size21:29 KAT's versatility makes him challenging to deploy24:49 Don't panic: shooting variance will balance out28:17 Knicks' 3-point shooting will improveWant to talk hoops with us? part of what you're not getting by just looking at statistics when Robinson is in the game is the absurd number of turnovers that happen when people were trying to force him the ball. I counted at least six turnovers where either Robinson was either not expecting the ball or fumbled it. He is amazing on defense and I love having him out there for put backs but the stats aren't telling you the turnover situation because they are counted against the passer and not him.
Trade Julius and Fournier for whatever draft capital we can get. Tell Thibs that if Burks plays more than 20 minutes or gets any touches at point guard he gets traded. Run that back out together with whoever we draft #1. If that team can win 43 games we become an interesting young team for a star to want to play for.

Why didn't either of you guys mention Marcus Morris as a free agent to pursue? Could he have done a better job for us this season?
