Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are having a rough season, but there is a path to contention by 2027 that is possible if you BELIEVE things can turn around for this franchise. The hope obviously starts with Cam Ward, who has been inspiring the last few weeks along with some of his teammates who can help build things up. Not only that, but there should be some faith in Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi and his ability to draft a team. However, Borgonzi will be judged by the head coaching hire he makes and that is the single most important decision facing this team. Mike McCarthy, Robert Saleh and some potentially to-be-fired options make a ton of sense. Then, the focus will be on how to attack the player acquisition period and the Titans have clear needs to address in the next couple of drafts, but a trade back this year would jump start the entire process. That process can lead to a contending team in 2027 with the potential to be debuting a new stadium and new jerseys. The Tennessee Titans have not had a good season, but seeing the performance of Cam Ward over the last few weeks has the fanbase as hopeful as it has been all year. Rightfully so, as Ward has taken big steps forward and continues to show signs he is a franchise quarterback every week. Helping him in Week 12 was running mate Xavier Restrepo, who didn't set the world on fire, but did exactly what folks expected he would do and that means he deserves more opportunities going forward. On defense, rookie cornerback Marcus Harris had a fantastic performance and is looking like someone who should be penciled in for a starting role in the slot in 2026. Finally, the Titans draft positioning got some help on Sunday when former Titan Dre'Mont Jones picked up one and a half of the two sacks required to advance the Ravens traded pick into the fourth round. The Tennessee Titans lost big to the Seattle Seahawks, but it was a perfect version of what a loss should look like for the Titans down the back half of the season. Mostly, because Cam Ward played fantastic and led the Titans down the field multiple times despite poor wide receiver play, constant pressure and poor coaching. Along with Cam Ward, Chim Dike showed once again he is the ALL PRO RETURNER for the NFL this season after another punt-return touchdown. Gunnar Helm, Marcus Harris and Kevin Winston had some fantastic moments in the game as well. The Tennessee Titans take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12 and it looks like we will finally get to see Xavier Restrepo. The undrafted free agent had tremendous chemistry with Cam Ward as his leading receiver in college, but has yet to get a shot with the varsity team. With a lot of injuries at receiver, it should finally be Restrepo's chance to get a shot. The injuries also put a big target on the tight ends, Chig Okonkwo and Gunnar Helm, to show their versatility. On defense, the Titans have a nearly impossible task of slowing down one of the best offenses in the NFL, but if they hope to make a difference, they will need to create turnovers and prevent red zone touchdowns while limiting explosive pass plays. The Tennessee Titans have a very difficult test this week as the Seattle Seahawks come to Nashville. Cam Ward is coming off a solid game and needs to prove he can keep improving on the things he showed last week, but Sam Darnold and the explosive Seahawks offense is coming off a four-interception game and looking to prove something themselves. Part of the Titans' challenge will be dealing with all-world receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is currently leading the NFL in receiving yards. It will be a brutal ask for the Titans beleaguered cornerback room. Finally, if the Titans hope for an upset, they need to hope the Seahawks give the football away multiple times like they did against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. The Tennessee Titans may have taken another loss on Sunday, but the narrative surrounding Cam Ward was completely wrong. Ward played a very solid game and showed real growth in a number of areas that should have Titans fans very encouraged. Ward displayed understanding and a patience approach while incorporating his legs more often and continuing to show off his arm talent. This should be a game we use to show why Ward CAN be the answer, not the opposite. Also, all the talk about JC Latham after the game was negative as he had four penalties, but the reality is Latham had a very good game when it comes to the actual plays and that should be something we are excited about because the penalty issue is more correctable than poor play. Finally, on defense, Kevin Winston got his first real start at safety and looked promising. The Tennessee Titans lost another game on Sunday and now the boredom with the season has led to one unnecessary phrase, "Quarterback Controversy." This is absurd and there should be no doubt that Cam Ward is the starter in 2026. Looking at recent rookie quarterbacks who went first overall, it is clear the Titans need to have some patience in this situation. Also, the truth is there are no logical alternatives either as fans begin to romanticize Will Levis as the losses and hurt mount in 2025. We know who Levis is and Ward is who they should stick with. The Tennessee Titans DESERVED TO LOSE their Week 11 matchup with the Houston Texans after the offense stunk up the joint and the coaching staff once again went with an overly conservative approach. These are issues coming out of a bye week that you simply cannot accept. Part of the offensive struggles came from Cam Ward, who was off for most of the day and has accuracy issues that have to be watched going forward. However, Ward has a practice squad crew of receivers out there at the moment and the coaching issues mentioned before to overcome. The Tennessee Titans come out of the bye week with a home game against the Houston Texans. The Texans shutout the Titans in Week 4, 26-0, but this game should be significantly closer. For that to happen, the Titans must attack backup quarterback Davis Mills. Mills is a fine backup who has beaten the Titans before, but he struggles most under pressure and the Titans can only get that pressure by sending the house. On offense, the Titans must create explosive plays and that will require Calvin Ridley to be good in his return from injury and the Titans offensive tackles to stand on their head. The Tennessee Titans got shutout by the Houston Texans in Week 4 of the season and now have their opportunity to get some revenge as they host their division rival. That doesn't mean the Titans can do it, but the extra motivation and coming out of the bye week should give them a bigger chance. The Texans could be without starting quarterback C.J. The Tennessee Titans exit the bye week needing desperately to turn things around in the second half of the season and they should have multiple opportunities to do that with five out of eight at home and some beatable opponents on the ticket. However, you could question whether winning would be what is best for the Titans considering the draft position, but the Titans young players need to feel some wins and play better football. A lot of that will be on Cam Ward and Ward must play better football in the second half. He doesn't have much help, but it would be nice to see Ward have one breakout performance at some point. The Tennessee Titans season is not going as they had hoped which means another high draft pick is on the way and three players, Rueben Bain, Arvell Reese and Jordyn Tyson, currently lead the pack as options and would all be a great fit for the Titans in April. The Tennessee Titans made no moves on trade deadline day leaving Titans fans frustrated, but even though the Titans didn't make any exciting trades, they made two "deadline deals" when they traded Dre'Mont Jones and Roger McCreary. The Jones trade specifically was excellent and now that we know the final conditions, it looks even better. A lot of players who weren't traded remain as well like Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard and Chig Okonkwo and it should be no shock that they are players who are part of helping Cam Ward.
