Your take on the keto diet was and is not what I have experienced. Firstly I consider going into ketosis is achieved by intermittent fasting. With this it basically means that you don't eat for around 16-18 hours. Then you can eat what you want and the meat(any) and protein can be with vegetables even potatoes it is just a matter of eliminating the processed carbs. There are good carbs which you can do a search for. This approach gives your gut a rest for 16/18 hrs. I have never had cramps, headaches. They are caused by lack of good water and essential minerals and vitamins. I hope that helps.
